AHS boys win track crown
The Arrowhead boys track and field team won the state championship in LaCrosse, winnng the 4x200 and 4x400 relays Saturday to put the wraps on the title.
The Warhawks finished with 52 points, winning in dominating fashion over Menomonee Falls (37), a team that trumped AHS at the regional and sectional level.
Defending champion Kettle Moraine finished 22nd with 12 points. Oconomowoc scored 9 points, and Mukwonago scored 8. University Lake School's Molly Seidel won two events, KM's Samantha Berg won the 300 hurdles and Tim Hucke won the 800.
The Warhawks already had the title sewn up when the 4x400 team of Casey Panawash-Bielinski, Tim Hucke, Evan Resimius and Tyler Zeman won in 3:19.84.
The 4x200 team of Chris Pendergast, Resimius, Jake Weber and Panawash-Bielinski won in 1:29.17.
Oconomowoc came close in the 4x100 boys relay, finishing second to Milwaukee Vincent.
Seidel, who won the 1,600 meters in the Division 3 girls competition Friday, became a two-time champion by winning the 3,200 today.
