The Grey-Haired Brigade
The following e-mail has been making the rounds and was forwarded to me by several people. It is worthy of a blog post. Thanks to those who saw fit to share it with me and allowed me to share it with my readers.
From "the Grey-Haired Brigade":
They like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers, and, in some cases, dinosaurs. Many of us are "baby boomers" getting ready to retire. Others have been retired for some time. We walk a little slower these days and our eyes and hearing aren't what they once where.
We have worked hard, raised our children, worshipped our God and grown old together. Yes, we are the ones some refer to as being "over the hill," and that is probably true. But before writing us off completely, there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration.
In school, we studied English, history, math, and science which enabled us to lead America into the technological age. Most of us remember what outhouses were, many of us with firsthand experience. We remember the days of telephone party lines, 25 cent gasoline, and milk and ice being delivered to our homes. For those of you who don't know what an icebox is, today they are electric and referred to as refrigerators. A few of us may even remember when cars were started with a crank. Yes, we lived those days.
We are probably considered "old fashioned" and out-dated by many. But there are a few things you need to remember before completely writing us off. We won World War II, fought in Korea and Viet Nam. We can quote The Pledge of Allegiance, and know where to place our hand while doing so. We wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many friends on the battlefield. We didn't fight for the Socialist States of America, we fought for the "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave." We wore different uniforms but carried the same flag. We know the words to The Star Spangled Banner, America, and America the Beautiful by heart, and you may even see some tears running down our cheeks as we sing. We have lived what many of you have only read about in history books and we feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for America.
Yes, we are old and slow these days but rest assured, we have at least one last good fight left in us. We have loved this country, fought for it, and died for it, and now we are going to save it. It is our country and no one is going to take it away from us. We took oaths to defend America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that is an oath we plan to keep. There are those who want to destroy this land we love, but like our founders, there is no way we are going to remain silent.
It was the young people of this nation who elected Obama and the Democratic Congress. You fell for the "hope and change" which in reality was nothing but "hype and lies." You have tasted socialism and seen evil face to face, and have found you don't like it after all. You make a lot of noise, but most are all too interested in their careers or "climbing the social ladder" to be involved in such mundane things as patriotism and voting.
Many of those who fell for the "Great Lie" in 2008 are now having buyer's remorse. With all the education we gave you, you didn't have enough sense enough to see through the lies and instead drank the Kool-Aid. Now you are paying the price and complaining about it. No jobs, lost mortgages, higher taxes, and less freedom. This is what you voted for and this is what you got. We entrusted you with the Torch of Liberty and you traded it in for a paycheck and a fancy house.
Well, don't worry youngsters. The Grey Haired Brigade is here, and in 2012 we are going to take back our nation. We may drive a little slower than you would like but we get where we're going, and in 2012 we're going to the polls by the millions. This land does not belong to the man in the White House, nor to the likes of Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid. It belongs to "We the People" and "We the People" plan to reclaim our land and our freedom. We hope this time you do a better job of preserving it and passing it along to our grandchildren.
So the next time you have the chance to say the Pledge of Allegiance, stand up, put your hand over your heart, honor our country, and thank God for the old geezers of the "Grey-Haired Brigade."

Occupy Wall Street - please!
Remember when Tea Parties sprang up all across the country in response to the very valid threats to our Constitution and democracy emanating out of Washington D.C. from President Obama and his fellow Democrats/socialists?
The reaction of the media and left was to immediately demonize such protesters. They were called Nazis, right-wing nut jobs, homophobes, racists, bigots, and all the usual nice terms the self-proclaimed "open-minded" libs like to use whenever they cannot deal with facts or common sense.
Contrast that with the latest groups rising up across the country protesting - of all things - Wall Street. (Yes, when unemployment is near record highs and the economy stinks, it really makes perfect sense to protest Wall Street! In some peoples minds, Wall Street represents greed. It represents all kinds of corporations making profits (another no-no) off the backs of the poor working stiffs... But on the flip side, doesn't Wall Street also represent JOBS??? All these evil, corrupt corporations - bent on raking in the bucks while forcing the masses to do their bidding, cracking the whip, taking advantage whenever they can ...
Perhaps it would help to mention that all the evil corporations Obama wants to destroy - like big oil - provide jobs which in turn provide for the livelihoods of millions of Americans... Guess in Obama's world, the only really "good" companies are those that take taxpayer dollars and fail - like Solyndra...)
So now we have people with way too much time on their hands demonstrating on Wall Street. What exactly they are really protesting is confusing - even to many of those participating. Is the media demonizing them like they do the Tea Parties?
No. Not a chance.
In fact, President Obama and his sidekick, Joe Biden, are even empathizing with the Occupy Wall Street crowd (also known as "The 99 Percent Movement"). Obama stated that "it (the Wall Street protests) expresses the frustrations that the American people feel" and that "the same folks (meaning Republicans, of course) who acted irresponsibly are trying to fight efforts to crack down on abusive practices that got us into this problem in the first place. So yes, I think people are frustrated and the protesters are giving voice to a more broad-based frustration about how our financial system works."
It is easy to translate what Obama means: the private sector is greedy and the government and the people need to work to destroy it. Only then can the United States be transformed into the happy socialist country that Barack Obama longs for. So Obama supports this - because such protests continue to add fuel to his desire to pit the rich against the poor, promote envy and jealousy, put forth the idea of the haves against the have-nots. Obama is the great divider and it is no surprise that he would come out and agree with the anti-Wall Street stance.
Concerning the protesters themselves - the aging hippies, unionistas, college students, adult children living in their parents basements with nothing better to do, and other miscreants - clearly they need to feel relevant. They are losing ground all across the country. They are losing clout. They are not being taken seriously by most people who work hard and appreciate the United States for what it represents. In fact, it isn't much of a stretch to say that the "Occupy Wall Street" protesters have become laughing stocks - providing amusement for those of us who sit back patiently, waiting for 2012 to come around so we can take our country back. We see these goofballs on the nightly news - with the liberal news anchors breathlessly touting that this movement is a response to the Tea Parties! It's powerful! It's growing! (Must be a few thousand by now!) The liberals are getting their groove back! If the media repeats such garbage enough times, people may actually start to believe it! Or maybe not...
NewsMax quoted Senator Rand Paul on Obama and the "Occupy Wall Street" movement:
“I see the president’s rhetoric of envy inflaming the public,” the Kentucky senator told Fox News’ Judge Andrew Napolitano."
“I hope ultimately it doesn’t result in lawlessness where they say, ‘Gosh those nice iPads through the window should be mine and why don’t I throw a brick through the window to get them because rich people don’t deserve to have them when I can’t have one.’”
Obama said during his Thursday press conference that voters will “run Republicans out of town” if they refuse to pass his "jobs bill" (aka: Stimulus Jr. - nothing more than another huge spending bill). He then expressed sympathy for the Occupy Wall Street movement which started in lower Manhattan three weeks ago.

However, Donald Trump summed up what about 99% of Americans think about the "Occupy Wall Street" protests:
Obama can have his "Occupy Wall Street" crowd. Keep such idiocy going! As with the protests in Madison, the Occupy Wall Street movement will only serve to turn more people off. The protesters will do nothing more than provide late-night fodder for talk shows and a few laughs at their own expense.

Walker stalled on paying more to pension!!!
Egads! Witness investigative journalism at its finest - the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel has written yet another story on evil Governor Scott Walker - exposing one more lie in a series of his seemingly endless lies and unethical behaviors! It appears as though Governor Walker didn't start IMMEDIATELY paying more for his state pension like he promised during his campaign. It's a wonder Walker hasn't been impeached or sent to the slammer! The horrors!
The Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel (10/15/11) writes: Walker stalled on paying more to pension.
It is only after reading the entire article that the truth comes out: over the course of Walkers' four year term, he will eventually end up paying more than he even promised to pay on the campaign trail towards his own pension. This will be because of Walkers' own legislation raising pension contributions. As a side note, Walker only stated during his campaign for Governor:
"As governor, I'll pay my share toward my retirement because everyone should pay their own way, including me." - Scott Walker. Walker IS doing so. Did Walker ever mention a timetable? saying that immediately upon election he'd start funding his own pension? It doesn't appear so.
Of course the Democratic Party is outraged! How dare Walker promise to pay more for his own pension and then not start until seven months into his term!!! What a scoundrel! State Democratic Party spokesman Graeme Zielinski remarks: "Walker's promise to pay more later didn't make up for his delay in paying the higher contributions. It's another thing he lied about." Sure, Graeme. Where were you when one of the most unethical governors our state has ever seen was in charge? Diamond Jim Doyle - the one who never met a budget he could honestly balance? the one who had shady train dealings going on - leaving the taxpayers and Walker to clean up the mess? The one who lied to us all about not raising taxes? The one who left Wisconsin deep in a red financial hole.
The hypocrisy from the left just keeps on coming - and getting even better.
And right now, it is estimated that Governor Walker will contribute $34,108.00 back to the state over his four years in office. More than Walker had even promised to begin with. What did Jim Doyle ever give back? Tom Barrett? Chris Abele?
So for some reason, this IS a big story. Help me out here. I just don't understand. Governor Jim Doyle can steal, lie, tax and spend, run the state into the ground and we don't hear a peep from the Journal/Sentinel or Dems - yet Scott Walker is a bad guy because he didn't start to IMMEDIATELY contribute to his own pension plan??? And lets not get started on all the lies coming out of the even higher-ups in office at the federal level - like President Obama. Somehow THIS is an honest-to-goodness "gotcha" story? Incredible.

Figures don't lie, but liars figure.

From The Wall Street Journal (10/18/11): The table shows the budget trend over the last five years, and it underscores the dramatic negative turn since the Obama Presidency began. The budget deficit increased slightly in fiscal 2011 from a year earlier, to $1.298 trillion. That was down slightly as a share of GDP to 8.6%, but as CBO deadpans, this was still "greater than in any other year since 1945."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As mentioned, the chart shown above was featured in a recent Wall Street Journal article ("A New Spending Record" - Washington had its best year ever in fiscal 2011).
The story and chart best illustrate just how out-of-control spending is in Washington, D.C. An important point in the article:
" ...faster economic growth and spending restraint are the keys to reducing deficits. Higher taxes will hurt growth and feed a Washington spending appetite that is as voracious as ever, despite the claims of political sacrifice."
Obama & Co. talk a lot about "sacrifices" and cutting spending. They do not practice what they preach. RIght now, Obama (who recently proposed a $474 billion stimulus jr. plan - known as the "jobs bill") as well as Harry Reid (who just proposed a $35 billion stimulus) are trying to spend even more money the country does not have. Are the Democrats/Socialists in Washington D.C. crazy, or is this a part of the master plan to destroy the United States economy?
The years 2007 and 2008 on the Congressional Budget Office chart show the deficit numbers to be low - including the deficit share of the GDP. During 2007 - the federal budget came very close to being balanced. (Who was president at the time?) Even more revealing: the government was taking in more money - during the years of Bush and tax cuts!
Obama & his fellow Dems/Socialists have been on a reckless spending spree for almost three years now - with no end in sight. The Wall Street article mentioned earlier helps explain how Obama is spending - what he is spending on and why the government is taking in less money than before. (Hint: It's not because of the Bush tax cuts, it's because of a little thing called: interest).
As Obama and his fellow Dems keep on spending billions or trillions, and borrowing money from countries like China to keep their habit going - the United States is finding itself in a deeper financial hole. We do not have a president interested in restoring any sense of fiscal responsibility to the government. In fact, we have a president encouraging people to blame Wall Street for all our financial woes, while he himself continues to propose even MORE billions of dollars of frivolous spending with no regard for the amount of money coming in.
This is just a blueprint to financial ruin. When the country is taking in less money, spending must be curtailed, not promoted or demanded.
Are people as really stupid as Obama seems to think? I don't believe so. At election time, the smart ones won't give Obama yet another four years to continue to decimate the United States.

The Tea Party vs. Occupy Wall Street
A few interesting statistics:
OCCUPY WALL STREET
Number of Days: 40
Number of Arrests: 2511
Number of Arrests per Day: 62
Number of Public Defecations: 1
Number of Rapes: 4
Cost to Taxpayers: $3.2 Million (in New York alone)
TEA PARTY
Number of Days: 984
Number of Arrests: 0
Number of Arrests per Day: 0
Number of Public Defecations: 0
Number of Rapes: 0
Cost to Taxpayers: $0.00.
No matter how the media tries to spin this one, the Tea Parties and the Occupy Wall Street movement are NOT the same. In addition to the stats mentioned about, more glaring differences:
- the Tea Parties want less government - the Occupy Wall Street crowd wants more.
- the Tea Party supports capitalism - the Occupy Wall Street crowd supports socialism/communism.
- the Tea Party members and supporters are not looking for, nor expecting handouts. The Occupy Wall Street crowd feels entitled - to any and all government handouts. Everyone owes them a living.
- the Tea Party members clean up after themselves. The Occupy Wall Street crowd feels someone else can clean up their messes.
- the Tea Party supports the United States. It is questionable what Occupy Wall Street protesters even think about the country they live in.
- the Tea Parties usually had to be held on weekends because most Tea Party members/supporters actually work during the week and have responsibilities. The Occupy Wall Street crowd appears to have lots of free time to camp out in parks and other public places. They make life miserable for whatever city they decide to squat in - for days and weeks at a time.
- the mainstream media has provided very favorable coverage of the Occupy Wall Street crowds. The same cannot be said for their reporting on Tea Parties. (Could this be because the Occupy Wall Street crowds tend to be liberal/socialist? and the Tea Party tends to attract conservatives?).
And last, but not least:
Guess which group the President of the United States - Barack Hussein Obama - supports???
Occupy Wall Street. (Does this suprise anyone?)
