Oh know! It's True, I am real!!
My view of GWBush Era Conservatism
One would think in today's virulent and seething partisanship that a lefty like myself would actually prefer the hatred by the Rightwing of the Clinton's and anything liberal in the 1990's. In some way's the hatred against Clinton was less destructive and did not have the mantel of executive power to perpetuate it to its constitutionally destructive ends. Sure Clinton had a little military adventurism and Monica, but he didn't lie to invade Iraq, trash the bill of rights, illegally spy on American citizens, okay the use of torture, let the CIA set up secret prisons, radicalize the Department of Justice, raise the national debt, inflate the size of government, etc…….
The primary difference between Bush-era conservatism and Clinton-era conservatism was that the hypocrisy was hidden and we (I) took their conservative rhetoric hook-line-and sinker and I "a dreaded Liberal". I actually took the Newt Gingrich's and Bob Barr's at their word. You know what they said, "Fiscal Responsibility, Personal Responsibility, Against Nation Building, Smaller Government, etc……" In the Bush-era, all of these "so-called conservative" standards that they pushed were all a lie (BTW - Newt and Barr were having affairs of their own during the Clinton Impeachment).
Now, I never turned into a conservative unlike that opportunist cry-baby Charlie Sykes in the mid 90's, but at the time and still at this time some of what they said was right. The one ethic I took most to heart is the ethic of "Personal Responsibility". In a way, the late Clinton period tempered my Liberalism, which I am glad I went through. This period allowed me to actually realize that Bill Clinton as President was wrong, now I don't think his lying about Monica was impeachable, but it was ethically and morally despicable. I will not defend his actions at the time. Nor will I defend Jim Jeffords for taking Bribes, nor will I defend Eliot Spizter, I will not defend politicians or leaders on the left for being hypocrites and liars. I will not defend or rationalize Obama's FISA vote, nor his faith based initiative. In my view they are wrong. I will not defend somebody just because of their political label and party affiliation.
Today this hypocrisy is no longer subterfuge, all of the excuses and scapegoats have been used, all the anger and hatred has become a caricature in popular culture, critics have been beaten into the dirt and lives ruined, the deliberate use of misleading or wrong information to obfuscate reality, the use of seething hateful tactics to destroy ANYBODY who disagrees, to defend blindly these "so-called conservative" ethics, while not living by those standards and ethics themselves. The virulent blind defense of Bush and Republican Corruption is antithetical to the conservative standard of personal responsibility I was reminded constantly by conservatives in the 1990’s.
The conservative standards of personal liberty and responsibility mean nothing in the Bush-era, with this zealotus rage to crush a "liberal" by any means necessary, to defend what irresponsible, criminal, and anti-constitutional actions carried out by the Bush Administration. The win-at-any-cost and power-for-powers- sake philosophy has effectively destroyed what conservatism was supposed to mean in the 1990's. For instance, Kosovo: even though I disagreed with the Republicans in congress they were still loyal opposition and the conservative standard was against Nation Building, and they still were not traitors. Today, Nation building is fine because Bush is president and 9/11 happened???? What??
This hypocrisy is out in the open due to the zealotus hatred of critics, the willingness to close eyes and minds to reality, and the willingness to trample over conservative standards for the blind defense of Bush and Republican corruption.
So when I hear people declare themselves as "conservative", I have to ask what kind of conservative?
The one that uses 9/11 as an end-all-be-all excuse for trampling on the bill of rights and constitution and torture or the zealot who's hatred for anybody with a different point of view manifests itself with personal attacks and dehumanization of that person. Or the kind that states "Liberals are as bad as terrorists" or that "Liberals are destroying America!" When I hear these words it is funny in a tragic way, but also impels me to hold these "so-called conservatives" responsible for their actions, hold them responsible for their words.
So this is were it stands, if a statement is made against liberals that has extreme implications, you better be able to back it up with evidence and be able to take responsibility for what you write.
Freedom of speech does not free people from the consequences of the content of what they say. At least this is something I keep hearing from “so-called conservatives.”

Desert Sea - Fiction
I used to write often. This is a short story, I did quite a long time ago. I think it is interesting in the fact that it brings up more questions than it answers. Science, religion, or maybe it was just blind commentary.
-----------------------------------
Desert Sea
Desolation permeated the air, as wisps of dust, heated by the angry rays of the sun, sliced his face. The star beat down relentlessly on his exposed flesh, sweat beaded down his forehead, for the scathing hot breeze gave no relief in the late afternoon desert oven. He covered his eye's and stared blankly into the sea of bright blue sky if it could speak it would say, "F*** you! Your not getting any water." His dry mouth and barren throat lusted for relief, but none forth standing in his wasteland path. Craggy boulders jutted sharply from the flat brown sandy ground, occasionally providing shade for snakes and birds. Here and there a large cactus cut the sky, reaching thirty feet in the air. A hundred years it had lived seeing no monsoon, or temperate weather. Just standing defiant against nature's onslaught, rebelling against the status quo of death the desert so highly prizes. The desert deals out death. Slowly, first depleting your body of water then eroding at your mind, bleaching your life-sustating resources and molesting your body with a constant barrage of sand, until your left emotionaly exhausted, physically weak, and into the grasp of self loathing. The desert hates outsiders, and alien species are never welcome to its deadly beauty. It grows bigger as its heat and sand engulf life-sustaining ground; spreading it's near virulent seed upon the nature around it. Punishing it for its own lack of green meadows and watery pools. For its sparse decoration of animals, and its uninviting appeal to life. Pleasures denied and enforced by it's surroundings, and position on the earth. If the realm of possibility linked his ideas then perhaps he was right. Could it be that his theory was correct? They didn't even consider him. They all thought he was wrong from the start, not even giving him the consideration to think about it, scoffing at him in disgust, while exalting that the truth was their scientific doctrine. Doctrine passed down for generations, strictly enforced by the bygone establishment, even though they knew that quantum physics blew away the entire basis for are material three-dimensional reality. Their science was religion without soul, but they stuck to their doctrine, never wanting to go over that edge which would shatter their petty little mind created construct called reality. And now he was here in this desert lost, alone, thirsty, exhausted from the days of endless travel to a place he didn't even know existed, but that really didn't mean to much when he knew that the human race never really existed because all-of-time happened all-at-once, and we were just living as a pretty little afterthought alone in the void. A cosmic ramble meaningless to the sum of the universal whole; a small minuet of awareness followed by an absolute... he didn't even want to think about it any more for he had know way of knowing what came next. What was the place? In fact he still did not know how he came to this desert, just that he woke up here days ago with the hot sun punching him in the face. What is the last thing that I remember? He asks himself, and the same answer, "I don't know." I'd even trade the validity of my theory for a glass of ice water in a second. Trails of sweat beaded down his forehead from the dirty brown scruff that was hair. His six-foot frame moved slowly over the sand, racked with pain from the punishing heat. The salt from his sweat awakened his taste buds, reinforcing his need for h2o. For some reason it didn’t make sense. It should have. In fact it should have worked from the start, but unforseen forces ruined the test. He still existed and this was all the proof he needed. The sun was setting in the west as the firery disk was doused by the infinite sand and scruff of his new tomb; a cactus solitarily stood like a cenotaph for the dying warrior god of the sun. Maybe I don’t exist he thought, perhaps he is in the last phase of reality. Perhaps his consousness has, “No!” He screamed, hoping somebody, something, a dog even would answer his cry.“Were am I going? “ In desperation with knees to ground, in defeat with hands buried in the cooling sand, “Is the search for an absolute truth so nessacary that we have to forsake our own existance.”“Those are some powerful words,” an etherial voice answered him. “Almost as powerful as the words love or hate and perhaps ignorance.”“Speaking of ignorance, are you suggesting that you should’ve not delved into taboo forces. Forces of which you could barley comprehend with your organic brain.”“Curiosity killed the cat,” he got up from the ground surrounded by dusk as condensation moisted his cooled skin. Surveying the area around him he replied, “Sorry for the over used cliché’, but I wasn’t expecting something like this to happen,” he pauses, “So I was right.”“No your not. In fact you can’t even comprehend the threads that you have unbound and the forces which you have unleashed,” the voice mumbled somtheing to another voice, which wispered something back. “I knew you humans would be trouble, your lucky that we came along when we did and saved you.”“Save me. Why?”“Your the last one left.”“Left!”“Your the last existing Homo sapien, dead and alive.”“Then why am I in a desert?”“Good question,” the etherial voice replies.“Good question,” the man replies sarcasticaly. “Who are you? What are you?”“Good question, but all I have is answers. I can’t answer questions about the scource because I’m at the center. I can only see out and I’m blind you know.”“Are you god?”“Well that can be debated. More like blind creation.”“And you were right about time.”“I was,” he replied astounded not to sure if he should be happy or depressed.“Time is, was, a force which slowed down or temporily halted the forces of order, orginization, and structure. From the force of time the cosmos was able to be disordered into the physical laws of the material and immaterial universe, which only existed because of the material universe. You people got it all mixed up. Anyway, when you destroyed time all the laws of entropy and decay that tied the systems of the material and immaterial universe unraveled, thus ending existance.”“You see your theory was wrong. Reality wasn’t an after thought in the void, it was the void.”“Why don’t you recreate time?”“As I said, I’m at the source. I can’t. I can only create without purpose,” the voice paused. “I can’t create something that isn’t created. I just don’t know.”“Why am I still here then?”“Good question. Probably because you were in the center, the source. You’ll probably forget because infinity still exists. It always has.”“Your getting pretty ambigous, are you sure you know what your talking about,” he states realizing he was now surrounded by complete darkness.“No I really don’t. As I said I just create.”“Wait. Hold on here. If infinity exists as an infinite number of points with no beginning and no ending. Isn’t that considered time.”“No, time just slows the process of order down. Infinity is hard to explain.”“Explain.”“No thanks, its time we get to the business at hand.”“What business,” he replies sitting down on a rock outcropping.“You said you would trade the validity of your theory for a glass of ice water.”We encourage your comments but will strive to remove discussion that contains personal attacks, racial slurs, profanity or other inappropriate material as outlined in our guidelines. Meet Ex-Representative David Duke, Republican
To H**l with the Republican Party!
GOP traitors appoint Obama Junior as Chairman of the Republican Party
I am glad these traitorous leaders of the Republican Party appointed this Black racist, affirmative action advocate to the head of the Republican party because this will lead to a huge revolt among the Republican base. As a former Republican official, I can tell you that millions of rank-and-file Republicans are mad as hell and aren’t going to take it anymore! We will either take the Republican Party back over the next four years or we will say, “To Hell With the Republican Party!” And we will take 90 percent of Republicans with us into a New Party that will take its current place!

A BLACK FLAG FOR WHITE AMERICA
"In a sense, America being composed of every heritage of Europe embodied a collective will of our European folk, a power that created great documents of freedom and wonderful examples of courage. It embodied a national will that accomplished the greatest adventure in the history of mankind, the placing of European footprints on the moon.Contemporary to that American lunar accomplishment, the seeds of destruction were sown in the racist, anti-European, Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, an act that discriminates against European immigrants (like us) and favors the Third World. In those years the media and its all-seeing-eye of television fell under the iron grip of a small tribe of non-Europeans who nurtured ancient hatreds against us since the time our Greek and Roman European forbears conquered them. Now, the dreams of our forefathers have morphed into our own living nightmares in which anti-White racism and and White self-hate dominate the political and media landscape. Millions of our people face massive racial discrimination in the Newspeak of “affirmative action.” We have lost the educational system our people created and made one of the best in the world, to the point where millions of our people can’t send their kids to the schools their own taxes pay for, where their children not only face educational mediocrity, but often the far worse fate of physical beatings, sexual assaults and the drug environment of gangstas and gangsta rap-infested schools.
"Our people find their taxes being doled out by the billions for the medical care and welfare of illegal aliens and welfare cheats while millions of our hard working people can’t get or can’t afford the most basic medical insurance. We spend trillions of dollars of American tax money in foreign wars orchestrated by those in our midst who are themselves foreign to every value of America and who are themselves loyal to a foreign nation. Must I invoke the two names of the chief orchestrators of the Iraq War, the Jewish extremists, Wolfowitz and Perle? Does anyone really still believe that the Iraq War is on behalf of America? These same supremacists who have us die and go bankrupt for Israel as a segregated, supremacist, “Jewish State,” tell us that it is evil for White Americans to preserve our civil rights, our heritage, our traditions and our values in the nation we founded. Not content with destroying the European heritage of our own country, they now use the military and economic, media and social might of the United States to influence and destroy the racial foundations of every White nation on earth. The aliens who control the media and political establishment of America use the might of our country to support every degenerate and destructive policy imaginable, from open borders to a pornographically sick international media, where every kind of sickness, perversion, immorality, dishonesty and ugliness is relentlessly promoted.Obama, though not appreciably different in policies from Clinton or McCain, is symbolic of that transfer of the control of America from White to anti-White. However, he is not the author of his success. He is the result of decades of anti-White propaganda promoted by the alien media and he is the result, as are McCain and Clinton, of millions of dollars of Jewish agenda money like that of Obama’s biggest campaign contributor, Goldman Sachs. He is propelled by the dynamics of Black and minority racism, and the anti-White racism instilled in far too many of our own kind."

Dallas hardware store wants George W. Bush to be its door greeter
"[W]e are offering the position to Mr. Bush in all sincerity," said Kyle Walters, Elliott's Hardwar president & CEO. "We think it would be a great fit for him as he settles back into life in Dallas."

I think it's a job that George "Dub-aya" Bush can handle. After all his administration's foreign policy wasn't to much different than hammering square pegs into round holes.

Liberals and Democrats are the American Fifth Column
“The goal is “equality.” Since it is not possible to make everyone equally ambitious, equally talented, equally fortunate, equally intelligent, or equally willing to work and sacrifice (democrat party and liberals). , the route to true “equality” is to follow the teachings of Karl Marx, to “take from each according to his ability; and give to each according to his need” – This is the modern mantra of today’s Democrat Party and even many members of the Republican Party now accept these concept “In short, members of the American fifth column can be identified by their open or disguised opposition to pro-American policies, principles or values (democrat party and liberal’s, it should actually read conservative and republican values and principles) . Agents of the fifth column (democrat party and liberal’s, this includes Obama, me, Matt, Jmark, jeff, Victor, etc..) can always be identified as those working to “undermine a nation’s solidarity [unity] (can’t remember how many times it has been implied that we are traitors).” This is not to be confused with those who openly dissent against policies easily demonstrated to be at odds with true American interests, such as the case with federal power grabs, attacks on individual rights, private property, free speech, religious expression or the 2nd Amendment (republicans and conservatives again).Citizens (republicans and conservatives again) who openly dissent against an over-reaching tyrannical government (democrat party and liberuls) are patriots in the truest sense of the term. They are not members of a fifth column, quite the contrary.”
http://www.basicsproject.org/american_fifth_column/ideology/american_fifth_column.htm
It’s pushed by this supposed non-partisan website URL: http://www.newmediajournal.us/site_information.htm“The New Media Journal is an independent division of BasicsProject.org, a non-profit, non-partisan 501(c)(3) research and educational initiative whose mission is to re-introduce the American public to the basic elements of our constitutional heritage while providing non-partisan, fact-based information on relevant socio-political issues important to our country, specifically, but not limited to, the threats of aggressive Islamofascism and the American Fifth Column.”
This might be funny if people didn’t use these paranoid delusions seriously to fuel their hatreds. They might as well say they are “Fair and Balanced”, being non-partisan is a total lie, trying to use this site as a “balanced source “, is a total farce. They’ve got newspeak down well (see George Orwell).
What is even scarier though it that this organization is trying to say by implication that Democrats and Liberals are more or less communists, anti-American, and more or less traitors. More accusation by implication, to bad they don’t have the guts just to say it openly. I put this into the quotes, “ (republicans and conservatives)” and this “(democrat party and liberuls) , to fill in the words that they really want to include, but don't becuse they do not want to lose their 501 status.

Oh! Self-Imposed Ignorance! Fundamentalist Christian thoughts on Science and atheism.
I found this site on the web. It’s called “Fundies Say the Darndest Things”, or maybe it could be called "Fundies are they smarter than fifth graders".
URL: http://www.fstdt.com/
Here are a few excerpts from their top 100. The moderators pick through religious websites for these great gems. I personally love the science related ones. There’s also a lot of hatred pointed at atheists:
“One of the most basic laws in the universe is the Second Law of Thermodynamics. This states that as time goes by, entropy in an environment will increase. Evolution argues differently against a law that is accepted EVERYWHERE BY EVERYONE. Evolution says that we started out simple, and over time became more complex. That just isn’t possible: UNLESS there is a giant outside source of energy supplying the Earth with huge amounts of energy. If there were such a source, scientists would certainly know about it. [emphasis added]” Oh my Darwin, It’s called the SUN!“Gravity: Doesn’t exist. If items of mass had any impact of others, then mountains should have people orbiting them. Or the space shuttle in space should have the astronauts orbiting it. Of course, that’s just the tip of the gravity myth. Think about it. Scientists want us to believe that the sun has a gravitation pull strong enough to keep a planet like neptune or pluto in orbit, but then it’s not strong enough to keep the moon in orbit? Why is that? What I believe is going on here is this: These objects in space have yet to receive mans touch, and thus have no sin to weigh them down. This isn’t the case for earth, where we see the impact of transfered sin to material objects. The more sin, the heavier something is.” There we have it, Gravity is a force that is generated by sin!“There are a lot of things I have concluded to be wrong, without studying them in-depth. Evolution is one of them. The fact that I don’t know that much about it does not bother me in the least.” Well, I’m convinced. “You got it backwards. Creationism is based upon science, reason and tons of evidence.Evolution is based on the blind acceptance of superstitions and fairy tales.” Oops! I guess I need to watch more WVCY and less Nova.: “I often debate with evolutionists because I believe that they are narrow mindedly and dogmatically accepting evolution without questioning it. I don’t really care how God did what He did. I know He did it.” Ugh! My head’s going to explode!“A woman wants to abort a rape child? She should have thought of that before she walked down that dark alley without a male prescence, not to mention she should have thought before putting on revealing attire. Are you calling them victims now? Should’ve stayed in the house where it’s safe.” Dear me, blame the victim, how very Fundi.“Honestly don’t care about your rights. If it were up to me, all Atheists would be burnt at the stake and or cast into a river with weights tied to their ankles and or placed before the firing squad, etc etc etc.” Well at least this troll is honest, if not a bit murderous.“Seriously, does anybody ever cry at an Atheist’s funeral?
“I mean, since Atheists have no value whatsoever as human beings (they’re not even human, but only inhuman animals), since Atheists are nothing but miserable Liars, Cowards
and Murderers, after all, why would anybody in their right mind weep over the dead rotting corpse, or bone chips and ashes (that get mixed together with those of others from the crematory) of a worthless dead Atheist?
And what epitaph do you engrave on an Atheist’s grave marker? “Here lies the only good Atheist, which is a dead Atheist”. What else is there say? Nothing at all. No last words, no last rites, no flowers, no anything.
Every time an Atheist dies, the world is better off as a result of that dead Atheist being dead, & its damned God-forsaken soul burning in the fiery pits of Hades. :)
Which begs another related question, do Atheists cry at funerals? If so, why? Since Atheists hate God, and they hate Family, and they hate Country, who are they crying
for? It is true: The only good Atheist is a dead Atheist.” Me: Oh! I guess when I practiced I got it wrong. Love your fellow man, that’s for regular Christians.
I tell you scary stuff and then funny, sad, then hilarous, and then very very scary again.
The thing is, is that a larger amount of people in this country believe more in creationism than in evolution. The majority of the second largest political party, the Republicans, believe more in creationism than in evolution.
“The majority of Republicans in the United States do not believe the theory of evolution is true and do not believe that humans evolved over millions of years from less advanced forms of life. This suggests that when three Republican presidential candidates at a May debate stated they did not believe in evolution, they were generally in sync with the bulk of the rank-and-file Republicans whose nomination they are seeking to obtain.”URL: http://www.gallup.com/poll/27847/Majority-Republicans-Doubt-Theory-Evolution.aspx

Milwaukee County Scott Walkers Tool
Jan. 6th, 2009
Walker says no thanks to federal stimulus dollars
"The last thing you want to do is put money in hands of government," if the goal is to pull the economy from recession, Walker said. Walker's stance fits with his conservative ideology and the turf he's begun to stake out for himself as a potential Republican candidate for governor in 2010, said County Board Chairman Lee Holloway....Walker said he'll announce his plans on the 2010 governor's race in the next month or two."
Jan. 9th, 2009
Walker won't rule out taking U.S. stimulus aid
"I'm not opposed forever" to carrying out projects with federal money, he said Friday. "If they put money in programs where we have legitimate needs, of course we are going to look at that."
URL: http://www.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/37372774.html
Today:
Walker touts proposal to use stimulus funds to cut sales tax
" Brandishing a shovel as a prop and sounding like a candidate for governor, Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker today attempted to redefine "shovel-ready" projects to include broad tax cuts. Walker, in his "state of the county" speech, called for the governor, Legislature and County Board to back his idea of a 9-month sales tax holiday, a property tax rebate and business tax breaks and to give up bricks-and-mortar projects financed by federal stimulus money."
URL: http://www.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/39670832.html
First Scott Walker says no because the last thing is to put tax dollars into the hands of government and he's sticking to his principles of starving Milwaukee County of any pragmatic leadership. Well he's got one thing correct I really don't like putting my tax dollars in Walkers hands. He certainly runs Milwaukee County like he's not part of the government.
Second, Scott walker is slowly changing his tune and becoming a little more pragmatic. Could criticism be changing his staunch conservative principles or maybe non-partisans are lest likely to vote for him?
Now, Scotty rationalizes and finds a way to get the money he opposed at first, he must have realized he was elected twice and the county executive in charge of the county.
I also love the fact that Scotty Boy could care less about the counties infrastructure, WHAT this is part of his Job to make sure our roads and parks and transportation work! I guess he does not drive down Burleigh often.
It wouldn't sound good in ad's against Walker in the campaign that he opposed Federal Stimulus Money.
He can't even make sure people who need help can get food stamps:
"No matter what side of this debate you find yourself on, everyone agrees the current system is broken. Today, if you are seeking access to programs such as BadgerCare Plus or FoodShare, you have a one-in-100 chance your call will be answered. You have a one-in-five chance that your FoodShare benefits will be cut off mistakenly, forcing you to reapply, hurting your ability to feed your family.....This system needs to be fixed not only for residents but also for the department and the county to avoid penalties from federal courts and the federal government. In the summer of 2008, a class-action lawsuit was filed against the department and Milwaukee County because the problems have existed for too long. In order to settle this lawsuit, there must be a concrete plan to improve the system." Karen Timberlake is secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. URL: http://www.jsonline.com/news/opinion/39396692.htmlWe've seen how, Walkers strict adherence of ultra-conservative principles, rarely bending to making pragmatic common sense decsions for Milwaukee County these past years or with working successfully with the common council. And even with his playing lip service to the idea, his only suggestions are TAX CUTS, can't he also find some other uses for the stimulus money as well?
I hope Milwaukeeans finally realized the mistake they made in re-electing Scott Walker. His utter mismanagement of Milwaukee County, it's disgraceful.
He is no Tommy Thompson, Thompson was at least pragmatic, and he tried to build consensus among the State.
Walker cares only for himself and his ambition to become governor, he only cares about his rightwing base. Scott Walker is an opportunist, and has used Milwaukee as his platform for 30 second ads in the campaign. "No Taxes, No Taxes"
Just imagine the Damage he could do as governor.

Random Observations, Ironies, & Judgments
Big Oil:
a) Gov. Doyle in this years budget address said he wanted to put a windfall tax on Oil Corporations for the mega-profits. Gas was between $1.99 a gallon and $2.05 gallon in Milwaukee; I can only imagine that is was higher in Waukesha County. While the price of sweet crude has been holding steady around $43 dollars a barrel and price per gallon of gas has been steadily rising at the same time, for some reason.
b) After his threat of a windfall tax, gas has been dropping in price in Milwaukee; it’s about $1.93 per gallon.
c) Interesting don’t you think?
Fiscal Conservatism & Responsibility:
a) During the 8 years of GW Bush as president Congressional Republicans and spineless democrats, six of which were in near total governmental power by Republicans, doubled the national debt into the trillions and borrowed more money from China than at any other time in our history. When the Republicans were in control of congress no spending bill was vetoed by GW Bush, including the bridge to no-where and other republican earmarks and pork pushed through.
b) When Obama became president and was trying to pass his economic stimulus bill, which will spend and borrow over $700 Billion dollars, Congressional Republicans stood hard and stuck with their fiscal conservatism credentials, and only 3 republican senators voted for the bill. These 3 of course are on the chopping block for not sticking with the party group think.
c) I would hate with my elitist ways to point out the hypocrisy in the above ironic use of the fiscal conservatism principle by the Republicans. I guess massive borrowing and spending is okay when a Republican is in the executive, this is the only I can seem to rationalize this flagrant excess in situational ethics. Principles be damned, were in power!
Right-wingers want Obama's (Liberal?) policies to fail: Rush! Oh big great gas bag of infinite ego and arrogance. Oh mighty purveyor of twisted justice, reason, and ant-wisdom. Oh Oxycotin, sex tourist, Viagra loving megalomaniac of knowledge. The great El Rusbho the all knowing and bloody hand delivering rightwing ditto head justice.
a) Rush and other Right-wingers want Obama, some say just his liberal policies to fail. What logical sense does this make. From what I read of the echoed rhetoric/talking points, there’s no difference between socialism and liberalism from the rightwing, Obama is a liberal and hence a socialist (among terrorist friend and alley during the campaign). you honestly think that we lefties don't have memories. How could you respect somebody you already smeared.
b) If this is the case, then most of Obama’s plans are liberal/socialist in nature
c) They want Obama to fail. Sorry guys you can’t have your cake and eat it to on this one. This is not a form of logic. You want Obama to fail and take the country down with him. This is anti-American in its purest most vile spiteful form when you put your party and grudge over the safety and economic health of the nation. And then justifying this POV by saying since "liberals wanted Bush to fail it’s okay for us to want Obama to fail" Honestly, I wish Bush didn’t fail look a the mess our country is in, but he had a long history of failure even before getting selected the first time and elected the second time.

Cost of Stimulus Bill with accountablilty and oversight, the last 3 remaning pragamtic Republicans voted for this: $700 Billion
Why the sudden change back to fiscal conservative princples they forgot about the past 8 years?
Could it be they've been voted out of power becuase they failed the United States and the vast majority of Americans.
Or Maybe the fact that their betrayel of personal responsibility, fiscal conservatism, against nation-building were all empty slogans.
Or maybe it is simpler that that, Maybe all they cared about was power, and princples be damned that last 8 years.

Stimulis Bill: Long Term Loss if the Status Quo of Corporate Welfare and Tax Cuts for the wealthy Remain Intact
Let’s have a little lesson in balance my friends (Sounds of inhaling and puffing cigar smoke in the background).
I the great El Jakebo, with both brain hemi-sphere’s tied behind my neck, often insulted with words such as idiot, called a traitor, and a hamster by right-wingers, will show you how to analyze a piece of evidence.
Exhibit A my friends(coughing in the background):
"President Obama's economic recovery package will actually hurt the economy more in the long run than if he were to do nothing, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Wednesday.
CBOs basic assumption is that, in the long run, each dollar of additional debt crowds out about a third of a dollars worth of private domestic capital, CBO said in its letter."
Exhibit Beeeeee (paper ruffling in the background):
"CBO said there is no crowding out in the short term, so the plan would succeed in boosting growth in 2009 and 2010.
The agency projected the Senate bill would produce between 1.4 percent and 4.1 percent higher growth in 2009 than if there was no action. For 2010, the plan would boost growth by 1.2 percent to 3.6 percent.
CBO did project the bill would create jobs, though by 2011 the effects would be minuscule. "

(Rush Limbaugh drugged with Oxycotin to protect my identity)
---
Okay I’m back,
So in the Short Term the Bill will do what it set out to do, stimulate the economy through spending.
A little ironic since Obama said that the time for short term gain (greed) at the expense of long term success is over. Funny thing is, is that I would agree with the CBO if Obama did not say this, "With the deficit we inherited, the cost of the crisis we face, and the long-term challenges we must meet, it has never been more important to ensure that, as our economy recovers, we do what it takes to bring this deficit down. That is critical. Now, I'm proud that we passed a recovery plan free of earmarks, and I want to pass a budget next year that ensures that each dollar we spend reflects only our most important national priorities. And yesterday, I -- I held a fiscal summit where I pledged to cut the deficit in half by the end of my first term in office. My administration has also begun to go line by line through the federal budget in order to eliminate wasteful and ineffective programs. As you can imagine, this is a process that will take some time, but we have already identified $2 trillion in savings over the next decade. In this budget, we will end education programs that don't work and end direct payments to large agribusinesses that don't need them. We'll eliminate the no-bid contracts that have wasted billions in Iraq and -- and reform our defense budget so that we're not paying for Cold War-era weapons systems we don't use. We will root out -- we will root out the waste and fraud and abuse in our Medicare program that doesn't make our seniors any healthier. We will restore a sense of fairness and balance to our tax code by finally ending the tax breaks for corporations that ship our jobs overseas."URL: http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/02/24/sotn.obama.transcript/
You can take either half of this article and spin it to fit your political belief or bias.
Obama is saying that in order to pay of the $1 trillion dollar deficit that the Republicans excreted on our country, and the $700 billion dollar stimulus bill Obama pushed for, he is going to cut waste and raise taxes on the richest 5% of Americans, which he himself is included. He has taken responsibility for the waste & mess GW Bush and the Congressional republicans made for 95% of us.
Now I’ll get back to my bias:
Of course it’s easier for the Republicans if they just ignore the $1 trillion dollar debt that the Republicans put on all of us for the Iraq war, ignore the gutting financial regulations that republicans pushed that lead to our economic depression where 600,000 lose their jobs every month, ignore that "Heck of a Job Brownie" while people where dyeing in the Superdome, while the Bush played his fiddle while New Orleans drowned.
"Heck of A job, Heck of a Job," Smiling CEO of Bank of America, After getting the first few billion during TARP.

King George vs. The Bill of Rights
URL: http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N02424244.htm
Source: Reuters
1) "The U.S. military could have kicked in doors to raid a suspected terrorist cell in the United States without a warrant under a Bush-era legal memo the Justice Department made public on Monday. 2) The memo, from Oct. 23, 2001, also said constitutional free-speech protections and a prohibition on unreasonable search and seizure could take a back seat to military needs in fighting terrorism inside the country."
Wow! One step closer to the Authoritarian State that Conservatives want to have. Maybe Obama should keep these powers for our new socialist state. Don’t you think comrades?
3) "The government's compelling interests in wartime justify restrictions on the scope of individual liberty," it said. Other memos held that the president had broad power to detain U.S. citizens suspected of terrorism and to suspend treaty obligations on issues as seen fit.
Marshal Law. I guess the NSA got the memo when they decided to spy on everyone.
4) "The current campaign against terrorism may require even broader exercises of federal power domestically," Justice Department officials John Yoo and Robert Delahunty wrote White House counsel Alberto Gonzales in the Oct. 23 memo."
NO, Federal power, the government; Oh wait! That’s right when it comes to fighting terrorism our right-wingers are wiling to give up their freedoms and mine as well.
5) "We do not think that a military commander carrying out a raid on a terrorist cell would be required to demonstrate probable cause or to obtain a (search) warrant," The U.S. Supreme Court has held that the Constitution's Fourth Amendment ordinarily requires a probable cause and a warrant to execute a search. However, the memo said those requirements "are unsuited to the demands of wartime."
6) "First Amendment speech and press rights may also be subordinated to the overriding need to wage war successfully." The Justice Department under Bush had fought a lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union which sought to make that and other the legal memos public.Okay, let’s put this into context to what these memo’s mean.
In a never ending war against terrorism, against unseen enemies, these memos allow the president to have dictorial power. He alone makes the decisions without any oversight or having to follow ANY LAWS.
This is the definition of dictatorship. I guess I should thank Bush and Cheney for not taking these memos’s their logical conclusions, but I bet our resident right wingers would be more than happy to have suspended the constitution to protect us from Obama, to cement their 100 Republican Majority.

Rush Limbaugh Racist Sexist Pig
Rush the Racist Pig:
"Why should Blacks be heard? They're 12% of the population.
Who the hell cares."
"Too many whites are getting away with drug use...Too many whites are getting away with drug sales...The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them, and send them up the river, too."
The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies."
"They oughtta change Black History Month to Black Progress Month and start measuring it."
"Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it."
"Sorry to say this, I don't think he's been that good from the get-go. I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well." --on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, while working as a commentator on ESPN.
"Secretary Powell says his endorsement is not about race," Limbaugh wrote. "OK, fine. I am now researching his past endorsements to see if I can find all the inexperienced, very liberal, white candidates he has endorsed. I'll let you know what I come up with."
LIMBAUGH: Yeah. This is -- you're not going to believe this, but it's very simple. And the sooner you believe it, and the sooner you let this truth permeate the boundaries you have that tell you this is just simply not possible, the better you will understand Democrats in everything. You are right. They want to get us out of Iraq, but they can't wait to get us into Darfur.
CALLER: Right.
LIMBAUGH: There are two reasons. What color is the skin of the people in Darfur?
CALLER: Uh, yeah.
LIMBAUGH: It's black. And who do the Democrats really need to keep voting for them? If they lose a significant percentage of this voting bloc, they're in trouble.
CALLER: Yes. Yes. The black population.
LIMBAUGH: Right. So you go into Darfur and you go into South Africa, you get rid of the white government there. You put sanctions on them. You stand behind Nelson Mandela -- who was bankrolled by communists for a time, had the support of certain communist leaders. You go to Ethiopia. You do the same thing.
I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They’re interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there’s a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn’t deserve.
Take that bone out of your nose and call me back(to an African American female caller).
I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.
You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed.
Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?
Racist attacks on Obama: Limbaugh attacks on Obama. Limbaugh has called Obama a ‘halfrican American’ has said that Obama was not black but Arab because Kenya is an Arab region, even though Arabs are less than one percent of Kenya. Since mainstream America has become more accepting of African-Americans, Limbaugh has decided to play against its new racial fears, Arabs and Muslims. Despite the fact Obama graduated magna *** laude from Harvard Law school, Limbaugh has called him an ‘affirmative action candidate.’ Limbaugh even has repeatedly played a song on his radio show ‘Barack the Magic Negro’ using an antiquated Jim Crow era term for black a man who many Americans are supporting for president. Fact vs. Fiction: No terrorists Attacks on the US since 9/11
I keep on hearing this revisionist history:
Fiction: Bush kept us safe after 9/11. I don't mean to state the obvious but 9/11 happened 7 days before the anthrax letters.
Fact: "It was really the anthrax letters -- with the first one sent on September 18, just one week after 9/11 -- that severely ratcheted up the fear levels and created the climate that would dominate in this country for the next several years after. It was anthrax -- sent directly into the heart of the country's elite political and media institutions, to then-Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD), Sen. Pat Leahy (D-Vt), NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw, and other leading media outlets -- that created the impression that social order itself was genuinely threatened by Islamic radicalism."
URL:http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2008/08/01/anthrax/index.htmlIs
Fact: The Anthrax letters killed 6 people, but not only that but starting a war against Iraq stapled onto the terror war is were over 4,000 American soldiers have been killed. How can you keep americans safe from death by starting a war? This is REALITY

Pot ! Are you calling the kettle black? Executive Responsibility for the Economy
A) Bush and the economic regulatory side of his administration did not have much control over what happened during the financial meltdown and thus do not have to accept responsibility over it.
So here we have a sitting president who has the executive duty to enforce regulation over the financial "free-markets" (reference Bernie Madoff and his failed SEC) and presided over the doubling of the national debt with massive borrowing from China, and vetoed not a single Spending bill filled with pork and earmarks from a Republican Congress. All in and 8 year period. Oh! And don't forget Enron!
B) Barak Obama is spending money to stimulate the economy and is taking control of financial regulation. He must accept responsibility for the Financial Meltdown.
So here we have a president trying to spend money to stimulate the economy (borrowing from China) after the financial markets fell during the last presidency. Not only is he responsible, but now must accept ALL responsibility for prior failures. Not only that but must solve the entire problem within a 7 week period.
Conclusions & Extrapolations:
1) Republican Presidents have no power over the US economy, regardless of the evidence to the contrary. Nor do they carry any responsibility for failures during their administrations.
2) Democratic presidents when they are elected, immediately have to take responsibility for the Republican presidents failures and their own and accept all of the responsibility.
3) Republican Presidents are not fiscally conservative and are bad managers of the economy and regulators of financial markets.
4) a) The "Free Market" is an economic theory that makes no sense. As we have seen for the second time (the first being the great depression) that less regulation of financial markets lead to abuse by powerful interests. b) Un-regulated growth (i.e. exponential growth, reference population theory and ecological principles) leads to a massive and depressional dive in the overall economy becuase growth at these levels can not be sustained.

The Soviet Union had a balanced budget.” “Racial discrimination does not always violate public policy.” “The truth is there are two hundred white women raped in America by a black man for every one black woman raped by whites.” “Our clear goal must be the advancement of the white race and separation of the white and black races. This goal must include freeing of the American media and government from subservient Jewish interests.” “Absolutely committed to spending the rest of my life as a spokesman for the rights of European Americans.” “Liberal soccer moms are precisely as likely to receive anthrax in the mail as to develop a capacity for linear thinking.” “They've hit us and we've got to hit back hard, and I'm not just talking about the terrorists.” (Who is she talking about?) “We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war.” “Whether they are defending the Soviet Union or bleating for Saddam Hussein, liberals are always against America. They are either traitors or idiots, and on the matter of America's self-preservation, the difference is irrelevant.” "I tell people don't kill all the liberals. Leave enough so we can have two on every campus – living fossils – so we will never forget what these people stood for."

"We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too."
"Those clowns over at the liberal radio network, we could incarcerate them immediately. Will you have that done, please? Send over the FBI and just put them in chains."
"If I had one dirty bomb and I could eliminate all the liberals in Fresno at once." When his comments became public, Duncan said "The response I have gotten from the public on this has been 100% supportive." “The doom of a nation can be averted only by a storm of flowing passion, but only those who are passionate themselves can arouse passion in others.”
"You believe that reality is something objective, external, existing in its own right … But I tell you, Winston, that reality is not external. Reality exists in the human mind, and nowhere else. Not in the individual mind, which can make mistakes, and in any case soon perishes; only in the mind of the Party, which is collective and immortal. Whatever the Party holds to be truth is truth. It is impossible to see reality except by looking through the eyes of the Party."

Conservatism's Biggest Weakness
What made the Republicans so powerful the last 8 years of Bush, is also the same thing that is making them so weak now.
What is it you may ask?
It was the solidarity in support for Bush and their one sided view of conservative ideology and the complete and utter crushing of dissent from moderate Republicans. All they are left with is name calling and policy stuck on repeat from the 1980's. Republican is just a label for the ideology that rules it now, which is hard right-wing conservatism. They make Nixon's policy and Ford's look populists and centrist. They are trying to find their soul, but unfortunately they have not honored that soul the past 8 years, which makes it hard to take their new calls for fiscal discipline and accusations of communism and fascism so hard to swallow why they allowed GW to trash their ideology and use them as puppets to push his agenda.
And it can be said that what makes Democrats powerful is also their weakness. The Democrats have allowed for many different views on how things should be done and swaths of ideological points-of-view: Blue-Dog, moderate to more economically conservative dems, liberals and progressives, etc....., but when it comes to trying to accomplish a shared focused goals, Right! They can't even do it now. Just look at Obama's budget and the dissent from the more fiscally conservative democrats!!
Where the Republicans control their message and march in step, the Democrats have a mixed-message and can't even march.
Republicans = Solidarity of Opinion = Focus
Democrats = Diversity of Opinion = Unfocused
The Democrats rebuilt, and people voted in more moderate and centrist democrats since 2006, this was when Republicans lost of power of congress.
I see a large opening for Libertarian's. Why?
Many of their ideas are smaller government conservative in nature; the social aspects are also socially liberal in nature. Yes, they'll but heads with social conservatives, but socially liberal is the direction the country is moving.
Unfortunately, I do not see ANY diversity of opinion in the Republican Party at the moment. Nor do I see a leader, all I have seen was a bunch of politician’s snivel at the feet of el Rushbo when they dared to challenge his form of firebrand rightwing fear mongering or Newt Gingrich trying to get on cable any chance he gets.
Republicans need some new ideas, to move to the center, and need a more positive message. If you guys spend all your time attacking and name calling all you are going to do is turn people against you.
Loyal Opposition does not want the president to FAIL, because when the president fails be it with conservative of liberal policy, the country FAILS!

Michelle Bachmann Calling for Violent Overthrow of Elected Government
Michelle Bachmann Calling for Violent Overthrow of Elected Government
Prologue: Suspect's note cites 'liberal movement' for church attack
Jim David Adkisson is charged with one count of first-degree murder.
"Police found a four-page, handwritten note in Adkisson's 2004 Ford Escape that was parked at the church. The letter written in ink on lined notebook paper was not addressed to anyone, but explained Adkisson's reason for targeting the church, Owen said.
…."the liberal movement." Owen explained the liberal movement, as defined by Adkisson, included liberal philosophies and issues pertaining to gays.
…..Owen said it appeared Adkisson targeted the TVUUC because the "church had received some publicity regarding its liberal stance." The TVUUC regularly announces in the Knoxville News Sentinel its meetings for gays and their support groups.
…."He did express that frustration that the liberal movement was getting jobs," Owen said.
…Adkisson went on a rampage at the church, Still wrote, "because of its liberal teachings and his belief that all liberals should be killed because they were ruining the country, and that he felt that the Democrats had tied his country's hands in the war on terror and they had ruined every institution in America with the aid of major media outlets."
……said "that because he could not get to the leaders of the liberal movement he would then target those that had voted them in office," the search warrant states.
…..Still seized three books from Adkisson's home, including "The O'Reilly Factor," by television commentator Bill O'Reilly; "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder," by radio personality Michael Savage; and "Let Freedom Ring," by political pundit Sean Hannity.
Exhibit A: "She then went further, suggesting that all liberal views — held by people such as Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, professors, and all Americans who identify themselves as "liberals" — are "anti-American." When host Chris Matthews, stunned by her remarks, asked Bachmann how many people in Congress hold anti-American views, she responded, "You’ll have to ask them."
URL: http://thinkprogress.org/2008/10/17/bachmann-anti-american/
Exhibit B: "BACHMANN: If you want to look at economic history over the last 100 years. I call it punctuated equilibrium. If you look at FDR, LBJ, and Barack Obama, this is really the final leap to socialism. … But we all know that we could turn this around and we can turn this around fairly quickly. We’re still a free country. "
"And as the Democrats are about to institutionalize cartels — that’s what they’re very good at — they’re trying to consolidate power, so we need to do everything we can to thwart them at every turn to make sure that they aren’t able to, for all time, secure a power base that for all time can never be defeated. "URL: http://thinkprogress.org/2009/03/05/buchmann-thwart-obama/
Exhibit C: "At this point the American people - it's like Thomas Jefferson said, a revolution every now and then is a good thing. We are at the point, Sean, of revolution. And by that, what I mean, an orderly revolution -- where the people of this country wake up get up and make a decision that this is not going to happen on their watch. It won't be our children and grandchildren that are in debt. (Like she gave a squat about the debt during the Bush years!)
" Right now I'm a member of Congress. And I believe that my job here is to be a foreign correspondent, reporting from enemy lines. (Liberals and democrats are enemies) And people need to understand, this isn't a game. This isn't just a political talk show that's happening right now. This is our very freedom, and we have 230 years, a continuous link of freedom that every generation has ceded to the next generation. This may be the time when that link breaks. And I'm going to do everything I can, I know you are, to make sure that we keep that link secure.

Exhibit D: "Bachmann told WWTC 1280 AM, "I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous on this issue of the energy tax because we need to fight back. Thomas Jefferson told us 'having a revolution every now and then is a good thing,' and the people -- we the people -- are going to have to fight back hard if we're not going to lose our country. And I think this has the potential of changing the dynamic of freedom forever in the United States."URL: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/03/23/michele-bachmann-i-want-p_n_178156.html
I know. Not too much new here. I’m so used to being implied and called a traitor and that I am anti-American on this Blog board on the basis of my political label of "Liberal" that it comes at no surprise that this type of paranoia lives at the higher levels of government.
In fact! This is where, along with reactionary conservative media, supply the paranoia, anger, and fuel these fires.
Remember the campaign and the death threats against Obama. Fueled by Sarah Palin: "During the bitter election campaign, the Alaskan governor had questioned Obama's patriotism and accused him of "palling around with terrorists", citing his links with the sixties radical William Ayers.Palin's demagogic tone may have unintentionally encouraged white supremacists to plan attacks on the future president of the US.
The Secret Service warned the Obama family last month that they had seen a dramatic surge in threats against the Democratic leader, coinciding with Palin's attacks, the Daily Telegraph newspaper has reported.
The latest details of the increase in threats to Obama come as a report by a top think tank last week had warned that he is a high risk target for racist gunmen.
"Two plots to assassinate Obama were broken up during the campaign season, and several more remain under investigation. We would expect federal authorities to uncover many more plots to attack the president that have been hatched by white supremacist ideologues," warned Stratfor, a security and intelligence analysts.
The verbal attacks by Palin on Obama had provoked a near lynch mob atmosphere at her rallies, with supporters yelling "terrorist" and "kill him" until the McCain campaign ordered her to tone down the rhetoric, the British daily said."

Who will listen to Michelle Bachmann? How far will mentally frail bitter Americans who identify themselves as conservative’s hell bent on having a scapegoat go?!

Silly Rightwing, don't you understand. Why the majority of Americans don't trust you?
This may give you an idea:
Why is it that with 8 years of a Republican/Conservative dominated federal government that the rightwing is now finding their principles when it comes to the national debt, spending, and big government?
Why is it that in less than 2 months the extreme rightwing that's left wants to overthrow the elected government?
Why is it that the rightwing HATES Barak Obama so much? Took'em longer to hate Clinton.
Why is it that the Sarah Palin is still taken seriously after being exposed for the Diva she is?
How can they be taken seriously for suddenly finding their soul after 8 years in the gutter?
Where were these conservative principles that last 8 years?
Why does the rightwing approve of torturing other human beings? When torture it is clearly against the nation's founding principles.
Why do they expect people to believe them after the massive failure of the last 8 years? Why would we give you another chance?
If massive tax cuts worked, why is the middle class shrinking? Why is the disparity between rich and poor grown so much?
Why did the "free market" not work? Why are 650,000 people a month losing their jobs?
Why do you still and have called anybody who does not agree with you anti-american and a traitor?
Why do corporate executives get paid millions and rewarded when they fail and why I am only rewarded with a raise for good performance?
Why are corporations based in the USA able to hide their assets in off-shore tax havens, and not pay their fair share?
What reason can you give us to give you a second chance?
When we saw that in the last 8 years you sold your soul and principles to stay in power and marched in lock-step in the face of reality or reason.
Why should we give you a chance when you want the nothing more than the country to fail under Obama, so you can be in power again? When you clearly failed the country the last 8 years.
Why should we, why should I, ever trust you again, rightwing?

BillyJ - Local Wingnut Has Personal Vendetta
"Mr. H,
Will anyone expose Matt Pickard for being caught with not only lying about what people said, but changing bloggers comments so they hurt the person who wrote them? How does this paper/blog site allow dishonest people like this village idiot, MC, to even stay here? As one who has seen my fair share of people leave because of the idiot Pickard twins, I would ask the living lake organization to kick him off for lying and breaking your rules. Do you guys even have rules or is this paper another dishonest msm liberal machine and only enforces rules to those that are not liberal."
It seems a common theme among him, Jim H, and Amy to try to get us kicked off LCL blogs. Only if BillyJ had the courage to actually say this stuff to our virtual faces I might give him a little credit. Then again he supports torture, so why am I not surprised.
BillyJ you've been trying for months to get some response from either one of us, now's your chance.
Do you have the guts to reply on my blog? Do you have the courage to call me all these names to my virtual face! Do you have evidence of your accusations against me?

Threats of Violence on LLC Blogs are Unacceptable
I was down to throwing mud and lowered my self with my last post. I guess I let my anger get the best of me, yet I never thought I would get threatened with physical violence. A THREAT that Jim Hayett allowed to posted on his blog by BillyJ. This response is public and my action of making a complaint to the webmaster will follow after this. I question Jim H's ethics and moral compass when it comes to publishing threats against other bloggers.
First here is my response to him from his latest Blog URL: http://community.livinglakecountry.com/blogs/fighting_liberal_lies/archive/2009/04/08/obama-and-our-ticket-to-hell.aspx
Jacob…No you did not write blogs about me or my wife. That’s because you were hiding behind the fake name liberahammer. When you were LH you made very disgraceful comments about my wife and I that were absolutely not true and hurt her and my children.
No Jim you are the one mis-representing this. I SAID THAT YOU DEAL WITH PEOPLE WHO YOU DISAGREE WITH LIKE A WIFE BEATER. The operative word is YOU and LIKE and PEOPLE WHOM DISAGREE. I made an analogy.
Do you know what an analogy is? I suggest you look it up in a dictionary. You sir are intellectually dishonest because YOU KNOW you are mis-representing what I said and what I meant. Unlike you I don't make public accusations without evidence to support them.
None of you liberals could get to me so you decide to drag in my wife. This is why I left liberalism and why few if any trust you or your brother. But I forgive and move on. Unfortunately with this situation, God gave me a memory and forgetting is most difficult.
NO JIM, you drag yourself into these skiffs because you are a paranoid megalomaniac with persecution issues. You drag your wife and kids because you act (here’s another analogy) like Hamas and hide behind your family when you get attacked for being such a dishonest person who can’t fight his own fights. Thanks god you left liberalism, If you try to come back I'll make sure your kicked out.
BillyJ sent me an email and asked if he could post his comments you requested from your blog on my blog post. Know why? Molly and Billy do not trust either of you and that trust was totally lost when your brother was caught cheating and editing comments from bloggers to fit his agenda.
Yep, Matt used the Google gable thing, but I like how this is used as an excuse for me as well. How cheap! Then again guilt by association is one of your side’s best tools.
That’s lying, stealing, and cheating. Why does that not matter or get an apology from an atheist? Since the LCR doesn’t seem to care about what Matt does, how can you have bloggers want to even stay here. It looks like rules are NOT for liberals. If Amy or I had cheated and lied like Matt did, I assure you we would have been in front of the Milw JS editorial board.
Sure you would have. Like the non-stop public accusations that you have no evidence of? The slander you keep on spreading. Wow, seriously, you should be put up against the JS board for your smearing actions and acts of plagarism. We can track them from start to finish from every blog post to every reply you have made. Fact is you have lied and smeared so many people you deserve to answer the questions of the editorial board just as much as you accuse Matt, if not even more.
You do know what happened to the extremely liberal NY Times, US News and World Report, ABC, Dan Rather, and Marilyn Mapes. They all lost jobs and careers due to their liberal lying.
You just contradicted yourself please read the last blurb you said above. I hope you can figure it out.
------------
Now the scary part; current events of rightwing violence against liberals and immigrants in the last year being the operative fear:
These hateful liberals were caught doing the same thing Matt Pickard did. This is why some want him removed since he broke the rules and one of the biggest: changing a bloggers words in a comment so to make him look good and the blogger bad. Who does he answer to when he breaks the rules?
NO if you could get every liberal kicked off these blogs you would. Matt and I fight back as much as you push. You can't stand it. I don't see why they let you stay since you make accusations and smear people and insult their intelligence on a daily basis. My question back to you Jim, WHO DO YOU ANSWER TO WHEN YOU PUBICLY SLANDER OTHERS? It's not only to Yahew, but it's also to everybody you deal with on these blogs, the webmaster, your fellow bloggers, and Erin.
As opposed to you letting your supporters attack and threaten violence against those you disagree with.
The physical threat Jim allowed as moderator published:
"Mr. Hamster, aka: Jake Pickard,
I’m sending this to Amy and Jim’s blog. I don’t trust you or your bro and I doubt anyone does either.
Correct me if I’m wrong but it’s your bro (I still wonder if you are Matt’s made up toy doll) that was caught cheating and lying and changing people’s comments from those that knock him down when he prints is foolishness.
Your hate and lack of respect for anyone who is not an atheist liberal is why few have dialogue with you or Matt. And no, I don’t want to meet you because I don’t believe in torture or violence. You might get hurt. Now grow up, head back to your cave, call your straw man bro, and read a book."
It's obvious that I have to answer to BillyJ and he's going to kick my *** and beat the c**p out of me.
From what I see you’re just as guilty as if not even more guilty since you hold he power over what is said on your blog. I know, I had to repost almost everything the last months, since you would only post attacks against me or other liberals and not allow them to defend themselves against your clones.Where are your ethics and moral now, high and mighty Christian? By the way, I am not an atheist.
Lastly, letting BillyJ use the threat of physical violence against me just shows how low you will go. He threatened ME, AND YOU allowed him too!
You let him make non-stop attacks on me and Matt for months as your proxy.
You let your supporter threaten the use of violence against me, disgusting.
This is no accusation, it is a FACT and as you can see, I have concrete proof that's supports my claim.

Peter King (R) NY threatens to halt Gov. if Bush officials prosecuted for breaking Laws regarding torture
New York Republican Rep. Peter King thinks his party needs to go nuke if Bush era officials are prosecuted on torture charges.
King, the outspoken ranking member of the House homeland security committee, said Republicans should "shut down activity across the board" if any Bush-era officials are hauled into court.
"We would need to have a scorched-earth policy and use procedural means to bring the place to a halt — go to war," he told POLITICO.

Accountability of those on the same ideological side means nothing to conservatives these days. How very sad.
I guess moral relativism is alive and well on the right side of the tracks these days.
That Clinton era mantra was just a big fat lie and seems to be for democrats only.I say let them halt the government. It's a bad bad bad tactical move on their part considering the economic mess the Republicans got us into in the first place and a war of choice. Not only that, but they will be protecting people who advocated the use of torture and go down in history as torture apologists.
I think how refreshing it would be to see somebody on the right condemen torture and those who allowed it to happen by the United States, becuase then I might have a little hope that this Moral Relativism that has eaten the Soul out of conservative movement might be squashed. They might have a chance then.
Until then, I will enjoy the republican and conservative race to the bottom, except for those times that rightwingers use assualt weapons to murder innocent people some of which may be liberals of course.

Arlen Specter (D) PA vs. The Republican Mob
I was kind of shocked when I heard this news this afternoon. I mean we’ve always known the Specter is moderate and did not always tow the republican talking points, but switch I never saw it coming.
WHY?
URL: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_specter_switch
"I have found myself increasingly at odds with the Republican philosophy and more in line with the philosophy of the Democratic Party," he said at a news conference. He added, "I am not prepared to have my 29 year record in the United States Senate decided by the Pennsylvania Republican primary electorate."
Here’s the reaction to the Republican Minority leader:
Sen. Mitch McConnell said the switch posed a "threat to the country." The issue, he said, "really relates to ... whether or not in the United States of America our people want the majority party to have whatever it wants, without restraint, without a check or balance."
Oh my lord! McConnell is such a hypocrite. I suppose he just happened to forget the Republican 6 year lock on all power in the Congress from 2000 to 2006 under Bush. Rubber stamped us into a war, seceded its rights to balance the power over the executive branch, and marched in lock step and sold it so called "principles" to stay in power. Pot calling kettle black again.
Spector had this to add about the Republican Party willingness to rid the party of moderates and other Republicans who do not tow the extreme rightwing line:
"They don't make any bones about their willingness (the GOP) to lose the general election if they can purify the party. I don't understand it, but that's what they said," he added.
After nearly six full terms in the Senate, Specter is one of a handful of moderate Republicans left, a politician of remarkable resilience who has maneuvered successfully to protect his seat at home and his seniority rights in Congress.
I don’t think the Specter is going to be a rubber stamp, in fact he has more in common with the Blue Dogs and more conservative democrats and not be surprised that he still votes with the Republicans the majority of the time, but Specter, unlike his former Conservatively Pure Christian Republicans, Spector will be able to work with the democrats with more effect than they will, because he realizes nothing gets done if you whine, scream, moan, and generally act like kicking little baby like the Republicans are acting in the minority party they are now.
So from what I gather is that Spector for political and ideological reasons had to leave a Republican party that wants to be ideologically PURE; a party and ideology that has sunk so low as to rationalize torture and is franticly scrapping for ways to condone that torture because this is what is demanded of it followers.
There is no room for moderates in the Republican Party; there is only room for extreme rightwing anti-government fundamentalists. After all, he is described as RINO by the ideologicaly pure for not goose stepping with the rest of the party.

Church going Christians support Torture
WASHINGTON (CNN) — The more often Americans go to church, the more likely they are to support the torture of suspected terrorists, according to a new analysis.
More than half of people who attend services at least once a week — 54 percent — said the use of torture against suspected terrorists is “often” or “sometimes” justified. Only 42 percent of people who “seldom or never” go to services agreed, according the analysis released Wednesday by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life.
White evangelical Protestants were the religious group most likely to say torture is often or sometimes justified — more than 6 in 10 supported it. People unaffiliated with any religious organization were least likely to back it. Only 4 in 10 of them did.
The analysis is based on a Pew Research Center survey of 742 American adults conducted April 14-21. It did not include analysis of groups other than white evangelicals, white non-Hispanic Catholics, white mainline Protestants, and the religiously unaffiliated, because the sample size was too small.
I would like to know WHY this is? It kind of fly's in the face of reason that Jesus was tortured to death by the Romans that christians would be against it's use?

Why is it?
Why is it that conservatives hate big brother's taxes to be used for social programs that help all Americans, but like big brother to spend our taxes on war to kill people from other countries??

Abortion Doctor Murderd By Right Wing Extremist
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090531/ap_on_re_us/us_tiller_reaction_2
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090531/ap_on_re_us/us_tiller_shooting
"A protester shot Tiller in both arms in 1993, and his clinic was bombed in 1985. More recently, Monnat said Tiller had asked federal prosecutors to step up investigations of vandalism and other threats against the clinic out of fear that the incidents were increasing and that Tiller's safety was in jeopardy. Stolz, however, said police knew of no threats connected to the shooting."
-------------------------------------------------------------
I just found the right wing answer to shut down abortions, kill the doctors that do them. In fact murder and intimidation seems to be the tactic of choice these days.
My fellow RW firebrands on this blog site, you are part of the problem. As the list of violent acts against those who oppose your militant RW viewpoint grows, how many more ways will you be able to deny that your words and actions do not have an effect: say for instance that , "liberals are destroying America," and that we are, "Worse than terrorists"!
I'm also interested in how the GOP is going to use the abortion wedge issue in the next election, since they do not have any ideas or clue on how to fix the economy or give Americans health care.
So go and applaud your new victory and smile for god's rightoueness blesses and sanctions this killing because he must sanction the killing of the liberal infedel.
"It is abhorrent that once again, individuals who oppose the right to choose have used violence to try to advance their extreme anti-choice agenda," said Vicki Saporta, president and CEO of the National Abortion Federation.
While many anti-abortion leaders swiftly issued statements condemning the shooting, their expressions of dismay were not echoed by Randall Terry, a veteran anti-abortion activist whose protests have often targeted Tiller.
"George Tiller was a mass murderer and we cannot stop saying that," Terry said. "He was an evil man — his hands were covered with blood."

History of Anti-Abortion Domestic Terrorism
URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-abortion_violence
Murders
In the U.S., violence directed toward abortion providers has killed at least 9 people, including 5 doctors, 2 clinic employees, a security guard, and a clinic escort.[4]
- March 10, 1993: Dr. David Gunn of Pensacola, Florida was fatally shot during a protest. He had been the subject of wanted-style posters distributed by Operation Rescue in the summer of the year before. Michael F. Griffin was found guilty of Dr. Gunn's murder and was sentenced to life in prison.
- June 29, 1994: Dr. John Britton and James Barrett, a clinic escort, were both shot to death outside of another facility in Pensacola. Rev. Paul Jennings Hill was charged with the killings, received a death sentence, and was executed September 3, 2003.
- December 30, 1994: Two receptionists, Shannon Lowney and Lee Ann Nichols, were killed in two clinic attacks in Brookline, Massachusetts. John Salvi, who prior to his arrest was distributing pamphlets from Human Life International,[5] was arrested and confessed to the killings. He committed suicide in prison and guards found his body under his bed with a plastic garbage bag tied around his head. Salvi had also confessed to a non-lethal attack in Norfolk, Virginia days before the Brookline killings.
- January 29, 1998: Robert Sanderson, an off-duty police officer who worked as a security guard at an abortion clinic in Birmingham, Alabama, was killed when his workplace was bombed. Eric Robert Rudolph, who was also responsible for the 1996 Centennial Olympic Park bombing, was charged with the crime and received two life sentences as a result.
- October 23, 1998: Dr. Barnett Slepian was shot to death at his home in Amherst, New York. His was the last in a series of similar shootings against providers in Canada and northern New York state which were all likely committed by James Kopp. Kopp was convicted of Dr. Slepian's murder after finally being apprehended in France in 2001.
- May 31, 2009: Dr. George Tiller was shot and killed as he served as an usher at his church in Wichita, Kansas.[6]
A fifth doctor, George Patterson, was shot and killed in Mobile, Alabama on August 21, 1993, but it is uncertain whether his death was the direct result of his profession or rather a robbery.[7]
Attempted murder, assault, and threats
According to statistics gathered by the National Abortion Federation (NAF), an organization of abortion providers, since 1977 in the United States and Canada, there have been 17 attempted murders, 383 death threats, 153 incidents of assault or battery, and 3 kidnappings committed against abortion providers.[8] The attempted murders were:[9][10][4]
- August 19, 1993: Dr. George Tiller was shot outside of an abortion facility in Wichita, Kansas. Shelley Shannon was charged with the crime and received an 31-year prison sentence.
- June 29, 1994: June Barret was shot in the same attack which claimed the lives of James Barrett, her husband, and Dr. John Britton.
- December 30, 1994: Five individuals were wounded in the same-day shootings which killed Shannon Lowney and Lee Ann Nichols.
- December 18, 1996: Dr. Calvin Jackson of New Orleans, Louisiana was stabbed 15 times, losing 4 pints of blood. Donald Cooper was charged with second-degree attempted murder and sentenced to 20 years.[11]
- October 28, 1997: Dr. David Gandell of Rochester, New York was injured by flying glass when a shot was fired through the window of his home.[12]
- January 29, 1998: Emily Lyons, a nurse, was severely injured in the bombing which also killed Robert Sanderson.
Anthrax threats
The first letters claiming to contain anthrax were mailed to U.S. clinics in October 1998, a few days after the Slepian shooting, and since then, there have been a total of 655 such bioterror threats made against abortion providers. None of the "anthrax" in these cases was real.[13][9]
- November 2001: After the genuine 2001 anthrax attacks, Clayton Waagner mailed hoax letters containing a white powder to 554 clinics. Waagner was convicted of 51 charges relating to the anthrax scare on December 3, 2003.
Arson, bombing, and property crime
According to NAF, since 1977 in the United States and Canada, property crimes committed against abortion providers have included 41 bombings, 173 arsons, 91 attempted bombings or arsons, 619 bomb threats, 1630 incidents of trespassing, 1264 incidents of vandalism, and 100 attacks with butyric acid ("stink bombs").[8] The first clinic arson occurred in Oregon in March 1976 and the first bombing occurred in February 1978 in Ohio.[14] More recent incidents have included:[4]
- December 25, 1984: An abortion clinic and two physicians' offices in Pensacola, Florida were bombed in the early morning of Christmas Day by a quartet of young people (Matt Goldsby, Jimmy Simmons, Kathy Simmons, Kaye Wiggins) who later called the bombings "a gift to Jesus on his birthday."[15][16][17]
- October 1999: Martin Uphoff set fire to a Planned Parenthood clinic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, causing US$100 worth of damage. He was later sentenced to 60 months in prison.[18]
- May 28, 2000: An arson at a clinic in Concord, New Hampshire on resulted in damage estimated at US$20,000. The case remains unsolved.[19]
- September 30, 2000: A Catholic priest drove his car into the Northern Illinois Health Clinic after learning that the FDA had approved the drug RU-486. He pulled out an ax before being shot at by a security guard.[20]
- June 11, 2001: An unsolved bombing at a clinic in Tacoma, Washington destroyed a wall, resulting in US$6000 in damages. [18]
- July 4, 2005: A clinic Palm Beach, Florida was the target of an arson. The case remains open.[18]
- December 12, 2005: Patricia Hughes and Jeremy Dunahoe threw a Molotov cocktail at a clinic in Shreveport, Louisiana. The device missed the building and no damage was caused. In August 2006, Hughes was sentenced to six years in prison, and Dunahoe to one year. Hughes claimed the bomb was a “memorial lamp” for an abortion she had had there. [21]
- September 13, 2006 David McMenemy of Rochester Hills, Michigan crashed his car into the Edgerton Women's Care Center in Davenport, Iowa. He then doused the lobby in gasoline and then started a fire. McMenemy committed these acts in the belief that the center was performing abortions, however Edgerton is not an abortion clinc.[22]
- April 25, 2007: A package left at a women's health clinic in Austin, Texas contained an explosive device capable of inflicting serious injury or death. A bomb squad detonated the device after evacuating the building. Paul Ross Evans (who had a criminal record for armed robbery and theft) was found guilty of the crime. [23]
- May 9, 2007: An unidentified person deliberately set fire to a Planned Parenthood clinic in Virginia Beach, Virginia.[24]
- December 6, 2007: Chad Altman and Sergio Baca were arrested for the arson of Dr. Curtis Boyd's clinic in Albuquerque. Altman’s girlfriend had scheduled an appointment for an abortion at the clinic. [25]
- January 22, 2009 Matthew L. Derosia, 32, who was reported to have had a history of mental illness [26]rammed a SUV into the front entrance of a Planned Parenthood clinic in St. Paul, Minnesota.[27]
Organizations calling for open violent actions against legal Abortions:
URL:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Army_of_God_(USA)
Army of God (AOG) is an extremist anti-abortion organization that sanctions the use of force to combat abortion in the United States. HBO produced a documentary on the Army Of God entitled Soldiers In The Army Of God.[1] Clayton Waagner's fake anthrax letters have resulted in their being mentioned among terrorist organizations at the FBI.[2]
AOG supports the Second Defensive Action Statement, as produced by the Defenders of the Defenders of Life, which reads:[3]
- We the undersigned, declare the justice of taking all Godly action necessary, including the use of force, to defend innocent human life (born and unborn). We proclaim that whatever force is legitimate to defend the life of a born child is legitimate to defend the life of an unborn child.
- We declare and affirm that if in fact Paul Hill did kill or wound abortionist John Britton, and accomplices James Barrett and Mrs. Barrett, his actions are morally justified if they were necessary for the purpose of defending innocent human life. Under these conditions, Paul Hill should be acquitted of all charges against him.
The American Coalition of Life Activists (ACLA) was a pro-life activist group that was the subject of controversy for its series of Wanted-style posters.
During a 1995 meeting, the group unveiled a "wanted" poster that listed the names and addresses of a "Deadly Dozen" abortion providers. The poster accused them of "crimes against humanity" and offered a $5,000 reward for the "arrest, conviction and revocation of license to practice medicine" of these physicians. The poster was published in Life Advocate magazine. A second poster targeted a specific person, Dr. Robert Crist, offered a reward for persuading him "to turn from his child killing," and included his name, address, and photo.
In 1996 it revealed its "Nuremberg Files" which included dossiers on abortion providers, politicians, judges, clinic employees and other abortion rights supporters. The ACLA claimed that these dossiers could be used for trials for "crimes against humanity" when the nation's laws changed to prohibit abortion. Neal Horsley, an activist, published the information on his website. His website greyed the names of those injured and crossed out the names of those killed by anti-abortion activists.

Here we have a clear and present danger of continued domestic terrorism by Americans against other Americans who think that they are justified by God and are also anti-government as well.
Scary Stuff.

The Purging of Republican Moderates Continues in Marathon County

“The Republican Party of Marathon County has stripped its spokesman of his title less than three months after he wrote a column critical of conservative talk radio star Rush Limbaugh.”
“"They felt I was too moderate in what I was speaking and printing," he said.
“This is just part of what you're seeing nationwide," he said. "(Party members) know that I don't agree with Rush Limbaugh. Rush Limbaugh is hurting us more than helping us."
“Kevin Stevenson said he believes his March guest column in the Wausau Daily Herald criticizing Limbaugh turned local party members against him.
"They felt I was too moderate in what I was speaking and printing," he said.
“He was sharing a moderate view in his columns, which I think is terrific,” Hermening said. "If the leadership had wanted a more moderate position, we would have let him (continue)."
-----------------------------------------------------
So it seems the grass roots of the Republican Party want to purge moderates as well.
The right wing extremsits on the Blog site would agree with this move.
Let the purge continue and the conservative republicans and let them wonder off into the wilderness.
Just answer me this question; How will an extreme anti-government republican party get swing and moderate voters other than preying like parasites on the failure of democrats?

Newt, Rush, Sotomayor and Context
I was surprised when Amy and Jim our resident LLC Blog bullies didn't use this talking point:
Republicain talking Point El Rushbo: Calling Sotomayor a "racist" and a "hack" on his radio show Tuesday, Limbaugh took particular issue with a 2001 speech at Berkeley during which she stated a "wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life."
http://www.propeller.com/story/2009/05/27/rush-limbaugh-slams-judge-sotomayor-39racist39-and-a-39hack39/
Here's the typical right wing liberal activist judge attack but at least they have evidence (twisted by bias of course) to back up their argument:
From JCN Counsel Wendy E. Long:
Judge Sotomayor is a liberal judicial activist of the first order who thinks her own personal political agenda is more important that the law as written. She thinks that judges should dictate policy, and that one's sex, race, and ethnicity ought to affect the decisions one renders from the bench.
She reads racial preferences and quotas into the Constitution, even to the point of dishonoring those who preserve our public safety. On September 11, America saw firsthand the vital role of America's firefighters in protecting our citizens. They put their lives on the line for her and the other citizens of New York and the nation. But Judge Sotomayor would sacrifice their claims to fair treatment in employment promotions to racial preferences and quotas. The Supreme Court is now reviewing that decision.
She has an extremely high rate of her decisions being reversed, indicating that she is far more of a liberal activist than even the current liberal activist Supreme Court.
They go further to explain:
If JCN's web ad gives us any window into what other attack-line Sotomayor's opponents might take, we can expect critics to focus on Sotomayor's rejection of Ricci v. Destefano, a case brought by white firefighters claiming racial discrimination when they were denied promotion because a qualification test yielded no black candidates eligible for promotion. The case is now being heard by the U.S. Supreme Court.

I know it is wickipedia, but its a good place to actually see what she has done and not throught media mouthpieces: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonia_Sotomayor
Here 's some of the full speech she made in 2001 the bold was used in the right wing talking points:
Whether born from experience or inherent physiological or cultural differences, a possibility I abhor less or discount less than my colleague Judge Cedarbaum, our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging. Justice O’Connor has often been cited as saying that a wise old man and wise old woman will reach the same conclusion in deciding cases. I am not so sure Justice O’Connor is the author of that line since Professor Resnik attributes that line to Supreme Court Justice Coyle. I am also not so sure that I agree with the statement. First, as Professor Martha Minnow has noted, there can never be a universal definition of wise. Second, I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.
Let us not forget that wise men like Oliver Wendell Holmes and Justice Cardozo voted on cases which upheld both sex and race discrimination in our society. Until 1972, no Supreme Court case ever upheld the claim of a woman in a gender discrimination case. I, like Professor Carter, believe that we should not be so myopic as to believe that others of different experiences or backgrounds are incapable of understanding the values and needs of people from a different group. Many are so capable. As Judge Cedarbaum pointed out to me, nine white men on the Supreme Court in the past have done so on many occasions and on many issues including Brown.
However, to understand takes time and effort, something that not all people are willing to give. For others, their experiences limit their ability to understand the experiences of others. Other simply do not care. Hence, one must accept the proposition that a difference there will be by the presence of women and people of color on the bench. Personal experiences affect the facts that judges choose to see. My hope is that I will take the good from my experiences and extrapolate them further into areas with which I am unfamiliar. I simply do not know exactly what that difference will be in my judging. But I accept there will be some based on my gender and my Latina heritage.
I also hope that by raising the question today of what difference having more Latinos and Latinas on the bench will make will start your own evaluation. For people of color and women lawyers, what does and should being an ethnic minority mean in your lawyering? For men lawyers, what areas in your experiences and attitudes do you need to work on to make you capable of reaching those great moments of enlightenment which other men in different circumstances have been able to reach. For all of us, how do change the facts that in every task force study of gender and race bias in the courts, women and people of color, lawyers and judges alike, report in significantly higher percentages than white men that their gender and race has shaped their careers, from hiring, retention to promotion and that a statistically significant number of women and minority lawyers and judges, both alike, have experienced bias in the courtroom?
Each day on the bench I learn something new about the judicial process and about being a professional Latina woman in a world that sometimes looks at me with suspicion. I am reminded each day that I render decisions that affect people concretely and that I owe them constant and complete vigilance in checking my assumptions, presumptions and perspectives and ensuring that to the extent that my limited abilities and capabilities permit me, that I reevaluate them and change as circumstances and cases before me requires. I can and do aspire to be greater than the sum total of my experiences but I accept my limitations. I willingly accept that we who judge must not deny the differences resulting from experience and heritage but attempt, as the Supreme Court suggests, continuously to judge when those opinions, sympathies and prejudices are appropriate.

Can someone explain to me how RUSH and Newt would even begin to fathom how it was/is growing up in the USA as a minority women, growing up in a male centered latino culture?

Free Will: A theological Question
I’m not an atheist nor am I Christian, and in this blog I am not going to address if god is real or not, let’s just assume that the deity exists and is all powerful, all knowing, and omnipotent.
I’ve been pondering the Christian Concept of Free Will endowed by God:
Question: a) When another person uses their free will to take away another persons free will, isn’t the act of taking this “endowed free will” away contradictory to the entire concept.
b) Rephrased - If you have your freedom stolen by another against your consent why is the person who uses their free will allowed to do this in the first place, while your free will is taken away.
This concept is simply hard to reconcile with the established Christian concept of a “god of love” or simply “justice” and simply asking Jesus for forgiveness is a cop out to taking responsibility for your actions on the death bed for fear of hell.
If god is real and endowed us with the free will to screw each other over, from cheating on your spouse to genocide, I can only conclude that the “god” in the Christian concept is neither a “god of love or justice”, because this “free will” is not doled out equally among human beings and is allowed to be stolen through many different means from murder, theft, and infidelity.
So: I come away with a feeling of ethereal apathy or being part of a grand social experiment. In the mortal realm I conclude that the established concept is from human beings to control each other and a cheap excuse to dismiss the terrible things we do to each other while we spend our short lives on this planet.

LLC Terms of Use Double Standard or Jim and Amy's Free Pass
This is the last political blog I am going to do for a little while, but please feel free to discuss politics and get off topic on my blog anytime. It’s more interesting that way.
Part 1:
The “term’s of use agreement” was authored by Erin Mellone after Jim Hayett let a poster physically intimidate me. This is when Bloggers still had power over moderation. Without me the terms of use never would have been written; Erin agreed that this sort of language, regardless of true intent, was not acceptable on a public Blog site.
To keep the conversation enjoyable and interesting for all of our readers, however, we ask that you abide by some simple, common sense rules.
Here's the short version:
· Don't use profanities or obscenities. (Talk about a complete lying b@st*rd!) Jim H
· Don't post personal attacks and insults; threats; ethnic, racial, religious or sexual slurs; or otherwise engage in hateful conversation. (Our Blog titles enough of a example)
· Don't stray from the topic of the blog or submit pointless comments.
· DON'T SHOUT BY USING ALL UPPERCASE LETTERS.
· Don't use this space for press releases or commercial purposes.
· Don't submit knowingly false or libelous comments. (All 3 examples about Matt, which the pushed even after Matt was cleared)
· Don't pretend to be somebody else, or maintain more than one screen name, or use a screen name that might be considered objectionable or insulting.
· Don't knowingly give out any personal information about other individuals, including participants of these blogs.
Don't post copyrighted or trademarked content.
Also, take what you find among the comments with a grain of salt. Some people in online communities derive satisfaction from trying to upset others. Ignore them. We'll monitor reader comments as best we can, but we do not necessarily read every word submitted by users of these blogs. If you see comments that don't abide by our discussion guidelines, please let us know by clicking the "report abuse" link on the blog or e-mailing our online staff. By participating in our blogs, you agree to abide by the terms of this agreement. We also reserve the right to change this agreement at any time.
-----------------------------------------
Part 2:
Last year in the fall my brother Matt( who was just banned from LLC blogs for using the word “m@sterb*tion” and attacking Jim Hyatt back for his personal insults), told me he started blogging at LLC blogs and asked me if I wanted to. I said no, but I decided to check it out as a lurker, and then I became a poster. I called myself “LiberalHammer”, a handle that can be taken either way. I revealed myself later in 2008, but the Jim and Amy couldn’t get over that I wasn’t Matt.
I couldn’t believe the fire branding and hatred from the right-wingers on the blog site against liberals, going as far as to label all “liberals’ as anti-Americans and traitors for even disagreeing with them or criticizing Bush or our countries actions. The right wingers treated the blogs like a toilet, and trashed any sort of professionalism or respect for the blogs and the gift that LLC gave them to express their opinions.
I kept on asking why LLC let them get away with this.
So I started posting. Here’s a few examples of how I was treated:
In my first post Jim insulted my intelligence for answering Amy’s questions, Amy accused me of white guilt because I lived in Milwaukee, Amy saying that via liberalism I am destroying this country, I sincerely bared my feelings to Amy about abortion and all she did was use it to attack me later, etc…….and it only get’s worse from there. Both pushing lies about Matt that he was Jmark and I, Matt’s name was hacked, Matt left and they said he was banned but he was not, in all three of these instances my brother was cleared by Erin Mellone the old administrator of the site. In all three instances Jim an Amy kept pushing regardless of this. Nothing was done about it by LLC till the last string of false accusations about Matt leaving. In all but the last instance, were I got sick and tired of this treatment, I pushed back by personally attacking Jim and Amy.
Erin banned all of us, thank god, finally something was done, we (the liberals) only had to sink down to their level to do it and reveal how these 2 abuse the rules.
Mind you LLC is owned by JS Corporation, the one’s who canned Jessica Mcbride on conservative radio AM 620 for racist comments.
Surly, I thought after Erin banned Jim, Me, Amy, and Matt for one week for our personal blog war, that Jim and Amy might have gotten the message, but I was so wrong. It didn’t take them long to figure out they can get away with everything and the “terms of use” agreement” does not apply to them. I only ask readers to review their last few blogs and count the insults to posters and personal attacks against the “terms of use”.
So with Jim latest blogs where I see him break a few terms of use; I inquired to Scott Peterson the Editor and Chief and asked him some straightforward questions regarding the rules Jim had broke. My correspondence has not been changed, I paraphrased Scott’s responses:

Dear Scott Peterson,
I want to voice a complaint about Jim Hyatt and his recent Blog :
"Watch these videos, but make sure you watch the video where Obama is on the Senate floor in 2007 trying every which way to make sure we lose in Iraq. Then, watch the video from 6/30/2009 wger Obama says he was always for victory in Iraq. Talk about a complete lying bastard! I would be embarrassed to admit I voted for this guy.
I think this language is innapropriate for a public blog post. Also he is using insults on other's intelligence again like he did in the past.
Both of these things break the Blog rules set up by Erin Mellone.
Please tell him to quite these practices so the Blogs and the posts stay away from personal attacks.

So while Jim and Amy get to break these rules without repercussion, Matt for using the word “m@sterb*ti*n” and counterattacking Jim is banned from Blogging. Jim and Amy also get to insult and demean other posters as well without repercussion. Not only that but LLC a part of JS Corporation, is allowing both of them to do this! Not only is this not fair to other bloggers on the site, to hold these two at a different standard, but it is also biased because of this.
Why is LLC so willing to cow-tau to them, when they have conservatives that do Blog on LLC (Al for one and Jacob) who do respect their readers and at least treat people they disagree with like human beings.
Are LLC’s standards set so low for right wing opinion that they will do whatever it takes to get opinions from people who not only blog without any sort of professionalism, respect for other’s POV’s, political ethics, or a moral compass, and are more than willing to use their blogs as platforms to trash other bloggers, trash posters, bullying, allowing physical intimidation, and basically treat the blog site like a piece of trash!
Is LLC trying so hard not to look like the Liberal Media Boogie man that they deliberately cow-tau to Jim and Amy to create the swill they call blogs while they bully others to either leave blogging like sally Pla, or insult and pound posters who just came for a discussion that don’t agree with them.
--------------------
So here are the takeaways about the Blogs we have no power over. It all makes sense now why LLC allows this un-professionalism that sullies there Blog-site:
1) LLC has a different set of rules for Jim and Amy and they are not held to the same “Terms of Use” agreement that the rest of the bloggers are held too.
2) Jim and Amy can do whatever they want without repercussion.
3) LLC is conservatively biased because of their un-willingness to hold them to the same standards as the rest of us.
Here are the things we have power over if you are sick of their bullying:
1) Ignore Jim and Amy’s blog’s, do not post on them what-so-ever, they do not respect you or your opinions. Ignore their flame-bait because that is all it is. This might force them to leave their nest, ignore them when they do. They crave the attention, no matter who it is from. I know it can be fun, but you can get the same results from watching Glen Beck or simply yelling at a brick wall.
2) Post on other conservative blogs, use the carrot and reward the conservative bloggers who treat you with respect, but treat them with respect also, it is a two way street.
3) Start your own blog on LLC or some other site and post the link when you reply.

Healthcare: Right or Privilege
This is at the philisophical core of healthcare reform:
Question: Do you think that Healthcare in a 1st World Nation is a Right for every citizen of this country or Privilege dependent on the person?
If healthcare is a privilege, should the health and life of the person who goes through insurance be more important than the profit margin of the insurance company?
If you answer please tell me why?

Luckily through my work I am able to pay for a very good healthcare plan and our network has access to good doctors, nurses, and facilities.
Then I ask myself, what if we didn’t have this insurance? What if we had my wife’s plan from her work (still the same company, but the benefits are no were near the benefits I can get for us), or even worse what if we had no insurance at all?!? Eat or buy pain medication? Pay Bills or pay medical expenses? Etc…….
Why do we, as Americans, allow multi-billion dollar insurance companies view us as $ signs? Why is it acceptable in our society that my life is equal to this $?
I can’t imagine a person who is working at a job, for an employer, who either can’t afford to or I think in most cases the employer is to greedy and is unwilling to provide health benefits to their workers, the people, who make them their money and profits.
Why is the, profit of Private Insurance companies, companies that don’t even offer affordable healthcare to the 47 million un-insured American’s, more important than the life or well being of 1 American?
Do you realize that we give Insurance companies “the right” to deny us coverage and to drop us from their plans, if it infringes upon their profit? This is twisted and disgusting, “we pay them money” should they not be accountable to the consumer. In any other industry that company would collapse because the consumer would switch to a provider that did not do this.
No, the Private Insurance run Healthcare system is the one to blame for the 47 million Americans who can’t afford their product!
It’s a failure, the phantom idea that is “free market economics”, because if this was true, Private health Insurance would have changed for the better long ago, but their strangle hold on politicians keeps the game in their favor!
Even if you hate government intervention, the fact is that Private health Insurance is a failure not only is it a failure in the “free market economics” template since consumers who can afford it and those who can’t have no or very limited choices, but your tax dollars pay for the 47 million who don’t get preventative care and go to Emergency rooms and use government programs to pay their doctors and facilities at a cost even more than that of what pre-care would be.
Choice means nothing if no affordable options exist.
Our healthcare system, which is controlled by Private insurance companies has a $ amount attached to your account number, they weigh this against their bottom line and ability to make a profit.
How much do you think your life is worth?

Honestly, how could anyone even believe this guy. He really means that ability to make millions on the backs of his employee’s and denying care to people who need it so he can keep his stock options up.
After what happened in the financial industry, exposing the greed and corruption of the CEO’s & Top Tier Executives those anti-American’s more than willing to bet the health of our entire’s country economy for a few more billions.
How am I supposed to believe that the same type of CEO’s and Executives who run Private Insurance Companies swimming in the billions of our hard earned money, having the ability to deny care and drop our coverage at any time, really have MY, YOUR, best health interest in mind!
They don’t, your life means nothing to them. Those millions come from the denial of care of Americans.
The healthcare industry is spending 1.5 million a day, 1.3 billion last quarter, to defeat a public option, because they CAN NOT compete with the government over the 47 million Americans that can’t afford their services, the 47 million Americans that don’t even have the option to afford their services because they have to make a choice between food and housing vs. a healthcare plan that costs between 700-1,200 a month.
So no, I have no reason to support, trust, nor believe the insurance CEO’s and Executives with their Republican and Democratic whores in congress to keep the status quo that makes them millions each year.
They had their chance, a choice to change how they since 1993 with Clinton and Bush.
People or Profit.
Guess who won?
They failed.

Steal This Blog.

I'll start.
Healthcare: Observations, Fables, etc….
A fable:
Lets get the government out of the police security and fire business!
I mean these 2 services could be privatized on a pay as you go basis, for instance, your house is on fire and Jeffies Fire Service comes and you pay them to put out the fire. No government needed at all. Although, you’ll have to pay before they put your house out.
Can’t afford it! Well that won’t be a problem because when you get the mortage for your property, the bank will force you to choose who your Private Fire Service provider is.
See you have lot’s of choice. I’m sure you can choose from a few plans, saving pets costs extra by the way.
Ironies:
Is a person on Medicare a hypocrite when they protest a public option for the other 47 million without insurance?
Customer service:
Why is it that private insurance companies can drop your coverage at any moment and deny you care? In any other industry in our market based economy, these corporations would be out of business.
Iraq:
The bumbling and incompetence by Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld in the first 2 years in Iraq proves that government can’t do anything right.
Conservatives / Rightwingers – Please send me a link to a real grass roots movement anti-public option for the 47 million non-elderly people in this country?
Republican Party and Libertarians:
I so wish that more libertarians would take over the republican party, although I disagree with your over-all view of government and the problems the ideology poses in reality (not a jab, just how I think), you guys still have a lot of good idea’s (making government leaner and work better if we have to have it), and seem more grounded in reality. Take over now is your chance, anti-government republicans have an ethical weakness that you guys don’t.
Stinky Puppies:
Why do dog farts smell so bad? We re-named our dog Thor to Harry Pooter MaGoo the other day.
Democratic Party:
Man, I love you guys & gals, even with a majority, you still can not agree on anything.
Republicans:
What is the next paranoid conspiracy theory?
Centrists:
No one can be a centrist. They can moderate their ideology, but being a centrist is impossible.

Healthcare Mob Rules: Fox News Not Fair or Balanced
(ChattahBox)—Fox News today, provided a helpful service to its Conservative right-wing viewers interested in disrupting a Democratic lawmaker’s town hall event, by offering dates and times of upcoming town halls all conveniently organized on an Excel spreadsheet no less.
According to Fox News’ James Rosen, Fox News didn’t have the town hall schedule for Republican lawmakers.
The Fox News host referred to “town hall battles” and Rosen spoke of the “gladiatorial” nature of the Democratic town halls that have been disrupted by angry mobs spurred on by Conservative Astroturf organizations, backed by insurance interests opposed to health care reform.
Many of the Democratic town halls have been overrun with right-wing disruptors that have turned violent. And yet, Rosen announced the town hall schedules of Democratic lawmakers, but not of Republican lawmakers.
Media Matters notes that Fox News’ excuse of “not having” the Republican schedule falls flat, when it took all of five seconds on Google for Media Matters to find one.

Question: Why would a fair and balanced non-biased news source deliberatly leave out the Townhall information of Republicans during the healthcare debate?
