Today is the 16th Annual Kiwanis Beach Party on the East end of Pewaukee Lake. We are all celebrating over 70 years of service with the Pewaukee Kiwanis through 2011. In June here now, the Pewaukee Kiwanis host the annual Beach Party at the Pewaukee Lakefront: http://pewaukeekiwanis.org.

The Pewaukee Beach Party is heading into its 16th annual event. Many hours of planning go into this 2-day event. The Pewaukee Lakefront is blocked off. The food is cooked and the beer and beverages are cold.
Saturday, June 25th starts with an all you can eat pancake breakfast from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. This year the Lake Country Clean Water Festival will collaborate with the Beach Party and have water activities starting at 6:00 a.m. and putting the evening all back to the big Party with the Pewaukee Lake Water Ski Club performance at 5:00 p.m. This year the Beach Party features a comedy ballooning show along with the beach offer fun for the younger participants while line dancing, Alter Ego from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and ending with the Piles of Rhythm performing for their 16th show at the Beach Party from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. Food and beverages are available all day and night.
The Beach Party offers free admission and free parking. All proceeds benefit local charities.
You won’t be disappointed at the “Best Little Beach Party in Waukesha County”. Come and join in the fun.

2011 Lake Country Clean Water Festival
The Mission of the Lake Country Clean Water Festival is to raise awareness for the increasing need for the preservation of Lake Country’s lakes and to raise money for funding efforts to clean the lakes so that everyone may continue to enjoy the fun and beauty that the lakes bring to our community. The first annual festival, which will be hosted by the Pewaukee Lake Water Ski Club, is scheduled for June 25 in the beautiful Village of Pewaukee.
The event is being developed to raise awareness of the growing problems facing our waterways and to provide a means for everyone to enjoy the many activities available on our lakes. It is our hope that through the support of area businesses that the festival revenue we will raise significant money to make a difference in the clean up efforts.

Heritage Weekend August 13th and 14th
This is the forth annual Heritage Weekend! Thank you for checking into this weekend of a historic journey through time. We hope you find this year's event educational and fun.
Please feel free to interact with our reenactors. They are passionate individuals who are at the event voluntarily, and are looking forward to visiting with you and answering your questions.
Along with our reenactor camps, make sure to stop by and view the collection of antique fire trucks and cars, organized by the Lisbon Fire Department.
Support your local non-profits by purchasing food and beverages from the Lisbon Fire Department Auxiliary and the Sussex Volunteer Organization for Women.
Take a journey through history by visiting reenactors from a variety of time periods:
Experience a school atmosphere from 1836
Listen to the tales of the Gypsies while viewing their traveling wagon
View a weapons demonstration from the Elizabethan Renaissance era
Visit with officers from World War II at their command post
Listen to Mary Todd Lincoln as she shares her life story
Stop by and see antique fire engines and cars from varying time periods
Enjoy games for adults and children of all ages.
Over 50 reenactors and more than 25 camps will be on-site representing their historic time period with demonstrations, games, and other sights and sounds for an exciting historic adventure you won't forget.

Lisbon Heritage Weekend bigger this year
More historic re-enactors scheduled to attend

"They say it takes about three years to really get an event like this going," Kumitsch said.
She anticipates there might be 60 to 80 historic re-enactors and exhibits. Plans also call for an increase in the number of demonstrations as well as raffle and door prizes.
The historic timeline event features historic re-enactors whose costumes, exhibits and encampments each represent a different period of time in the evolution of humankind and American history.
The event is intended to provide a weekend of historic education and entertainment as well as display the features of the 125-acre Lisbon Community Park, which has been described as "a hidden gem" in Lake Country because it is relatively unknown.
The park entrance is at Lake Five and Oakwood roads in the west-central quadrant of the town, east of the Village of Merton.
The park's northern boundaries include the Bark River and the Bug Line Recreational Trail.
The western quarter of the park is devoted to playground, picnic, athletic and park shelter activities. The central quarter of the park is a large prairie grass nature hiking trail. The eastern quarter of the park is a dense woods with walking trails that wind through the woods and near The Bug Line and Bark River.
The northern quarter of the park is where the Heritage event takes place.
The park's amenities, including nearby parking, permanent as well as portable restroom facilities, and ample camping and exhibit space, make the event attractive to the historic re-enactors.
"The word has gotten out that we have excellent facilities, and we take good care of the re-enactors who come to our event,"
The re-enactors are provided rations, ice and firewood for their overnight campsites, she explained.
New re-enactors this year will include a broom maker, blacksmith, beekeeper, Native American hoop dancer, as well as Friends of Old Timers, a group of re-enactors depicting the old west in American history and a gypsy wagon encampment.
Other new attractions this year include a Civil War camp, Elizabethan nobleman and his entourage and historic timekeepers from the colonial era. There will also be an 1860 Navy cannon and a World War II Army Air Corps headquarters encampment.
A larger cadre of donors and contributions has also increased the value and number of door and raffle prizes.
Raffle prizes have included chainsaw wood sculptures by park employee Paul Pichler, handmade log cabin bird feeders created by Kumitsch's husband, Dieter, Merton Deluxe Bird Feed from the Merton Feed Co. and a custard cake from The Merton Custard Shoppe.
Pick 'n Save and Piggy Wiggly of Sussex along with Panera Bread have contributed food and other supplies for the re-enactors' encampments. Lannon Stone Products, Payne and Dolan, Jay's Liquor in Sussex and State Farm Insurance all contributed cash or equipment for the event.
