Michigan State University Breslin Center to get Loop System!
Just received this from Juliette Sterkens (audiologist) up in the Fox Valley via my facebook. She's been responsible for many hearing loops being installed in the Wisconsin area over the past 18 months. Here's the link to her website with a list of the Wisconsin venues that are now looped. http://www.foxvalleyhearingloop.com/MapMarkers.aspx

For those of you that have no idea how a loop system sounds, I found this website that is pretty accurate. Alternating between the 'M' and 'T' setting (t is the telecoil program which is what a Hearing Aid user needs in order to have the loop system work), you will notice the difference. The two links at the bottom of this page are not working, so use the 'M' and 'T' ones. When those of us with hearing aids are in a noisy room, our HA's pick up everything (unless you have your HA set to a program for a different environment set-up). With the Telecoil setting, we are able to hear without the frustration of the background noise. It's a big difference!

This website is from a Loop System Installer in Michigan. I looked at the number of installs that he alone has done and it's amazing how quickly Michigan has moved to the forefront of having public venues with loop systems. It's too bad other states are not following the example of Michigan.
