No honor in recall effort.
Gosh, tons of Scott Walker recall petitions – with billions (or is it millions? the numbers keep going up) of signatures (many of them soon to be weeded out as duplicates, invalid, fraudulent, from out-of-state, signed by Mickey Mouse, Adolph Hitler, or people known as “X”, from the grave, or stolen from people who had no intention of signing such garbage) were dumped at the Capitol in Madison today.
The recall process is on!
Doesn’t matter that Governor Walker is one of the best – if not THE best – governor this state has ever had. Named “Governor of the Year.” Highlighted by Nick Shultz in USA Today who wrote an article devoted to the many accomplishments and staunch leadership abilities of the governor . Governor Walker has turned this state around – made it fiscally sound, without raising taxes forcing anyone to lose a job. Incredible. And for this – a recall effort??? In the future, other governors will find themselves emulating Governor Walker if they wish to save their states from fiscal ruin. Why in the world would anyone - with an ounce of common sense or level of sanity - want to recall Scott Walker?
This brings me to a letter I read on the Opinion page of the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel (Monday, 1/16/21). The writer deserves applause for summing up the Walker recall efforts and Walkers accomplishments.
NO HONOR IN RECALL EFFORT
If the liberals were still in charge, they’d jack up taxes and “stay the course” former Governor Jim Doyle set us on. You know, the course that put us $3.6 billion in debt. Governor Scott Walker has had the courage to make the tough but necessary calls to fix the problems he inherited. The Republicans, in less than one year in office, set an unprecedented example by fixing the fiscal train wreck Doyle left us.
The recall attempts seem more about defending the failed status quo rather than fixing or even acknowledging the problems. Handing the keys back to the Democrats will return Wisconsin into the downward spiral of reckless government spending, tax hikes, lucrative union relations in government, a hostile business climate and a general disregard for the taxpayer. Why should the private sector not only carry the burden of the recession but the lofty union costs, too?
So here we are again, facing another attempt in which liberals attempt to sleaze their way back into power by trying to recall Walker and other Republicans. There’s no legitimacy, respect, righteousness nor honor in the cause to recall Walker. The recall process was intended for removing politicians guilty of corruption and criminal acts. But shameless bullies, the recall supporters, are abusing the process because they simply disagree with Walker’s policies.
- Donny Burke, Oshkosh, WI
Bravo, Mr. Burke. I’d also like to add what the recall effort is really about. The Democrats and Obama in Washington D.C. and the federal government need the unions. The unions provide big $$$ to their political coffers – via forced union dues from members who have no choice whether or not they even want to belong to a union. Governor Walker has curtailed this practice – nipping it in the bud. Giving people a choice – the freedom to decide whether or not they want to belong to a union in the first place. The freedom to decide whether or not they want union dues automatically deducted from their paychecks – to go to the union leaders who in turn can give it back to the Democrats. Very simple. Connect the dots. Think President Obama and unions all over the country aren’t focused on Wisconsin at this very moment? Think again.
Also, one big question people need to ask themselves – is the State of Wisconsin better off today – after a year of Governor Scott Walker – than the Doyle years? If you don’t answer “yes” – you aren’t being honest.

And yes, margaretw - I am signed up to verify recall petition signatures! I am really looking forward to it.
BS: Overall, even in these dire economic times, since taking office, Scott Walker stopped the job loss and has seen the creation of 13,800 jobs. It's in the plus column. You can check out the liberal favorite: Politcrap in todays Urinal/Sentinel to see about it. Still has several years to go towards fulfilling his pledge of 250,000 jobs - in spite of the roadblocks and anti-private sector atmosphere out of Washington D.C. (Did you know that a company in Wisconsin - Michels - had been awarded a contract from TransCanada to help build the pipeline? Now, will you blame Obama or Walker for the loss of all those jobs?) And Walker's term is not over - nor will it be anytime soon.

"Moving Jobs and Headquarters to Wisconsin
I campaigned for office with the goal of helping the private sector create 250,000 new jobs by 2015. Over the 3 years before I took office Wisconsin saw net private sector job losses totaling 150,000. In 2011 we were able to turn that trend around and help create thousands of new jobs. This week I was pleased to announce that Kestrel Aircraft Company is moving their manufacturing and headquarters to Superior.
This relocation will be a huge boost to the Superior area specifically, and will help Wisconsin’s overall economy. I was pleased we could collaborate with the local community to bring the company to Superior."
Is this one of the "tax breaks for the rich" that liberals keep lying about? A tax break so to create new jobs and biz in Wi perhaps?

Also, as side note, Wisconsin may indeed be getting hundreds more jobs at Michels company (pipelines for oil) which had won a contract to help build the Keystone pipeline that Obama had nixed. Now it appears that TransCanada might cut back on the size of the pipeline and not have it cross country borders. Therefore, the United States federal government wouldn't have a say in it! Heard the pipeline would begin in Montana, then end in Texas. Once it's up and running, then TransCanada would ask the feds to extend the pipeline to Canada - which they would almost have to agree to or they'd look even more idiotic than they already do. Obama's move to deny the pipeline in the first place was simply nuts. We need oil. We need jobs. And what does Barry do? Well, being the true socialist that he is, he kills it. Good for private enterprise to come up with a solution to keep Obama out of the picture!!! And good for the state of Wisconsin that could see hundreds of jobs created because of this. Now let's get that mining legislation passed and Walker's private-sector business friendly climate WILL start to take off. In spite of Obama!

the mnumbers you will see that Walker has done better than most other states . We

way the PDLS's can make it look like the o is doing well !! Il. ?Mi? Cali? What are
their percentages ? lol... dubya start comparing apples to apples . not a portion that
makes you feel good !

Do you, BS, or any other liberal know what just took place in IL the other day? Moody's downgraded Illinois state debt to A2 from A1. The lowest among the 50 states. Yes, our enemy to the south even surpassed the ultra-liberal run state, California. Now that’s an insult of major proportions. Their cost to borrow just grew over 100 basis points more than quality states like WI. But the liberal media, and Obama’s Chicago pals, said that wasn’t supposed to happen since the democrats in charge raised IL’s income tax by over 60% and corp. tax by almost 50%. So what makes me call the Walker recall crowd complete morons and idiots? They want to do to WI what the same liberal democrats did to IL. IL still has nearly $7 billion in bills. That’s because IL lost jobs as many companies left the state. And there is no end in sight! So what does the rating agency, Moody’s, say about Walker and his reform? Moody’s praised Walker and said his budget process is "credit positive for Wisconsin," and "the state's finances are closer to a structural budgetary balance." And WI moved to 17th from 41st in best biz climate for all “57” states (CEO Mag. WSJ 1-19-12). How are you going to handle these facts GW?

fundamental change for the betterment of all of society. We will have to address
compensation issues for the public sector, especially teachers. Teachers need to
have some skin in the game. Right now they have none personally. And please
don't tell me that they care. We all care'. The public sector, like the private sector,
needs to institute accountability in all aspects of what they do. They do not need to
fear this, even though they're union has told them for years that they must. Once
they as a group have the confidence and the wherewithal to accept they can take
charge of the classroom and the schools, we acan move on. What they do not
seem to get is that even though they may have not been greedy personally, they
allowed this union to run roughshod over the taxpayers and perpetuate this benefit
fraud over all of us. Now it's going to stop. Whether Walker is defeated( highly
unlikely) or not. There is no way the left is going to stuff this back in and pretend
that nobody knows about the millions of dollars of fraud perpetrated on all of us.
So let's take this charade to it's necessary conclusion. Bring on Falk, Obey, or
possibly even Feingold. What they all have in common is they lost in 2010. As
much as democrats wish they could turn back the hands of time, they can't.
Obviously, they are going back to the ole Clinton play book and instituting the policy
of "How can we fool-em today".

jhayett, I can't get excited about your facts. And I doubt whether the 3,900 people
who lost their jobs in December care much about our impeccable credit rating.
Two simple sentences and he made you MEpublicans look like 2nd graders.
Unfortunately, you are not educated or sophisticated enough to realize it.

the pipeline.
I could begin to describe how foolish you look, but it's fruitless - you don't and never
will get it. Please move to Montana when Walker is shown the door.
