No honor in recall effort.
Gosh, tons of Scott Walker recall petitions – with billions (or is it millions? the numbers keep going up) of signatures (many of them soon to be weeded out as duplicates, invalid, fraudulent, from out-of-state, signed by Mickey Mouse, Adolph Hitler, or people known as “X”, from the grave, or stolen from people who had no intention of signing such garbage) were dumped at the Capitol in Madison today.
The recall process is on!
Doesn’t matter that Governor Walker is one of the best – if not THE best – governor this state has ever had. Named “Governor of the Year.” Highlighted by Nick Shultz in USA Today who wrote an article devoted to the many accomplishments and staunch leadership abilities of the governor . Governor Walker has turned this state around – made it fiscally sound, without raising taxes forcing anyone to lose a job. Incredible. And for this – a recall effort??? In the future, other governors will find themselves emulating Governor Walker if they wish to save their states from fiscal ruin. Why in the world would anyone - with an ounce of common sense or level of sanity - want to recall Scott Walker?
This brings me to a letter I read on the Opinion page of the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel (Monday, 1/16/21). The writer deserves applause for summing up the Walker recall efforts and Walkers accomplishments.
NO HONOR IN RECALL EFFORT
If the liberals were still in charge, they’d jack up taxes and “stay the course” former Governor Jim Doyle set us on. You know, the course that put us $3.6 billion in debt. Governor Scott Walker has had the courage to make the tough but necessary calls to fix the problems he inherited. The Republicans, in less than one year in office, set an unprecedented example by fixing the fiscal train wreck Doyle left us.
The recall attempts seem more about defending the failed status quo rather than fixing or even acknowledging the problems. Handing the keys back to the Democrats will return Wisconsin into the downward spiral of reckless government spending, tax hikes, lucrative union relations in government, a hostile business climate and a general disregard for the taxpayer. Why should the private sector not only carry the burden of the recession but the lofty union costs, too?
So here we are again, facing another attempt in which liberals attempt to sleaze their way back into power by trying to recall Walker and other Republicans. There’s no legitimacy, respect, righteousness nor honor in the cause to recall Walker. The recall process was intended for removing politicians guilty of corruption and criminal acts. But shameless bullies, the recall supporters, are abusing the process because they simply disagree with Walker’s policies.

Bravo, Mr. Burke. I’d also like to add what the recall effort is really about. The Democrats and Obama in Washington D.C. and the federal government need the unions. The unions provide big $$$ to their political coffers – via forced union dues from members who have no choice whether or not they even want to belong to a union. Governor Walker has curtailed this practice – nipping it in the bud. Giving people a choice – the freedom to decide whether or not they want to belong to a union in the first place. The freedom to decide whether or not they want union dues automatically deducted from their paychecks – to go to the union leaders who in turn can give it back to the Democrats. Very simple. Connect the dots. Think President Obama and unions all over the country aren’t focused on Wisconsin at this very moment? Think again.
Also, one big question people need to ask themselves – is the State of Wisconsin better off today – after a year of Governor Scott Walker – than the Doyle years? If you don’t answer “yes” – you aren’t being honest.

As opposed to out-of-state union greed? If this is multiple choice, can I pick C?
ahemmer - Jan 24, 2012 4:25 PM
union organizations was incredible. Think BS will acknowledge such? Wouldn't be
surprised if some $$$ came right out of Washington DC to help the union thugs
from in and out of state with the recall effort , too.o

So, if the azzclownery is overlooked by sympathetic Madison cops, it never happened. Check.
You could go to Althouse's blog and check the archives... plenty of video.

Union thugs are those who use tactics to intimidate, shout down, and block access to public buildings for Republican politicians or others who are in support of Walker. Union thugs are those who badger people into signing petitions, standing in their way, driving past Walkers home in Tosa on a daily basis, blaring the horn and giving the Walker family the finger. Union thugs are those who make death threats via e-mails to Walker and other Republican politicians. Union thugs are those who interrupt Special Olympics ceremonies where Walker is speaking. Union thugs are those who interrupt the opening ceremonies of the State Fair when Walker is speaking. Union thugs post pictures of Walkers children on Facebook so they can make nasty remarks about them and their father. The level of civility of the Union thugs ranks below a very badly behaving spoiled child and/or borders on criminal behavior. Dumping beer on people's heads? Pouring nails in the driveways of Republican representatives?
And yes, achieve1: Many union thugs traveled to our state from Ohio, where they felt the need to use their tactics here. All in an effort to protect the coffers and benefits and dues from coming in to give back to Democratic politicians.
I personally do not know if any teachers behaved as union thugs. I would hope they did not. But many unionistas did and continue to do so.
And get your facts straight, Achieve1: I have never stated anywhere nor do I believe that teachers do not deserve a pension. Pants-on-fire lie from you on that one.

problems that ows's did not to mention the distruction of property ! Do any of you
PDLS's pay attention to the news ?

Sure, no arrests were made, but I'd say that qualifies as goonion thuggery.

like to know what he thinks will change? All of the Dumbs keep telling us that they
have no problem paying into their benefits. If that's the case, then it must be that
they just want to hold the taxpayer hostage for taking away collective bargaining.
But removing Walker will not bring back CB. All you have to do is follow the money
and the once powerful union will not only fail here in Wisconsin but in every other
state. This is the only issue at stake here. The union no longer has the ability to
hold us hostage and they we're played for the brain dead idiots that they are and
they lost big time. Budgets, Walker, outside money, that's all camaflauge for what's
really at stake. They claim to be smart but if they we're on our side, I'd fire every
one of them.
reformed trucker - Jan 24, 2012 8:36 PM
That's their fear and motivation. Wisconsin has become a proving grounds, ergo the influx of out-of-state cash to both sides.
reformed trucker - Jan 24, 2012 9:27 PM
You don't recognize that one? That's the "you won't give us our way so you hate teachers" strawman argument.

Child's play.

His speech went contrary to his actions of the last 3 years. I was having fun disecting and refuting it, but wifey kept shushing me because my youngest had a new boyfriend over (even though they were upstairs). That should make for some really good media tomorrow.
Even Unka Joe seemed disinterested. I think Obama's biggest mistake was instead of appointing advisors who could fill in his weak spots, he appointed all "yes" men. Sad. He's earned his one term.
sharpaxe - Jan 25, 2012 7:03 AM
January of which year? LOL!! The talking heads didn't have much to say about it either, except for "...he can really give a good speech though..."

By the way, we won't be hearing any response from BruceSpringsteen while he is teaching. Maybe once school's out he'll make a comment or two. Same goes for "Achieve1" (learner1?). Tune in after 4 p.m.
And reformed trucker: Thankfully, I didn't watch the State of the Union Campaign Speech (was at a school board meeting - dontcha love it, BS?). Heard it made the case for growing government even bigger - and now Barry is a big fan of oil? And of course it was full of the usual pit the rich against the poor. The government needs to step in to make things "fair." Obama's definition of "fair" means: punish success, raise taxes, hinder private business in favor of growing government and destroying the work ethic that made this country great. People MUST rely on the government - whether they want to or not! And the socialist Obama will lead the way!
At least tonight we'll have the opportunity to listen to a real leader when it comes to solving fiscal problems, decreasing the size of government, protecting the integrity of upcoming elections, enforcing the 2nd Ammendment, etc. Governor Scott Walker has accomplished so much in one year it will be difficult to fit it all in in an hour or so. As for Obama, his infomercial campaign speech on his "accomplishments" could have lasted two seconds. "We got bin Laden - in spite of my weak stance on fighting terrorism - good night."

Circulator Catherine Zimmerman appears to have filled in Addresses, Municipalities and Date Signed for dozens and dozens of those who just did nothing but sign their name. If it was truely them. You can see pages 143, 167, 251, 256, and 271. Printing for what I mentioned is hers. How easy it is to look in a Phone Book to get names and addresses, write them on a petition, and have friends, other circulators, coworkers etc. sign the persons name. There are probably many more petitions she turned in, as I only looked at the first 300 petitons.
Catherine probably did the same thing for Walker recall petitions. I wonder how many circulators are doing the same thing????

Ahemmer writes: Union thugs are those who use tactics to intimidate, shout down, and block access to public buildings for Republican politicians or others who are in support of Walker.
Hmmm they had signs saying they are teachers and where wearing badger and packer colors I have never seen a union issue those.
Union thugs are those who badger people into signing petitions, standing in their way, driving past Walkers home in Tosa on a daily basis, blaring the horn and giving the Walker family the finger.
The only arrests for harassment where Walker Supporters (see attached youtube link)
Union thugs are those who make death threats via e-mails to Walker and other Republican politicians.
Where are the arrests here? Could they be made up? Because its against the law and there are no records of the police investigating these.
Union thugs are those who interrupt Special Olympics ceremonies where Walker is speaking.
Those were students from UWM not union workers
Union thugs are those who interrupt the opening ceremonies of the State Fair when Walker is speaking.
Its called freedom of speech "google it" Repubs have Koch Brother buses rolling all over the US performing the same displays of free speech except their signs are misspelled
Union thugs post pictures of Walkers children on Facebook so they can make nasty remarks about them and their father. The level of civility of the Union thugs ranks below a very badly behaving spoiled child and/or borders on criminal behavior. Dumping beer on people's heads?
