No honor in recall effort.
Gosh, tons of Scott Walker recall petitions – with billions (or is it millions? the numbers keep going up) of signatures (many of them soon to be weeded out as duplicates, invalid, fraudulent, from out-of-state, signed by Mickey Mouse, Adolph Hitler, or people known as “X”, from the grave, or stolen from people who had no intention of signing such garbage) were dumped at the Capitol in Madison today.
The recall process is on!
Doesn’t matter that Governor Walker is one of the best – if not THE best – governor this state has ever had. Named “Governor of the Year.” Highlighted by Nick Shultz in USA Today who wrote an article devoted to the many accomplishments and staunch leadership abilities of the governor . Governor Walker has turned this state around – made it fiscally sound, without raising taxes forcing anyone to lose a job. Incredible. And for this – a recall effort??? In the future, other governors will find themselves emulating Governor Walker if they wish to save their states from fiscal ruin. Why in the world would anyone - with an ounce of common sense or level of sanity - want to recall Scott Walker?
This brings me to a letter I read on the Opinion page of the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel (Monday, 1/16/21). The writer deserves applause for summing up the Walker recall efforts and Walkers accomplishments.
NO HONOR IN RECALL EFFORT
If the liberals were still in charge, they’d jack up taxes and “stay the course” former Governor Jim Doyle set us on. You know, the course that put us $3.6 billion in debt. Governor Scott Walker has had the courage to make the tough but necessary calls to fix the problems he inherited. The Republicans, in less than one year in office, set an unprecedented example by fixing the fiscal train wreck Doyle left us.
The recall attempts seem more about defending the failed status quo rather than fixing or even acknowledging the problems. Handing the keys back to the Democrats will return Wisconsin into the downward spiral of reckless government spending, tax hikes, lucrative union relations in government, a hostile business climate and a general disregard for the taxpayer. Why should the private sector not only carry the burden of the recession but the lofty union costs, too?
So here we are again, facing another attempt in which liberals attempt to sleaze their way back into power by trying to recall Walker and other Republicans. There’s no legitimacy, respect, righteousness nor honor in the cause to recall Walker. The recall process was intended for removing politicians guilty of corruption and criminal acts. But shameless bullies, the recall supporters, are abusing the process because they simply disagree with Walker’s policies.

Bravo, Mr. Burke. I’d also like to add what the recall effort is really about. The Democrats and Obama in Washington D.C. and the federal government need the unions. The unions provide big $$$ to their political coffers – via forced union dues from members who have no choice whether or not they even want to belong to a union. Governor Walker has curtailed this practice – nipping it in the bud. Giving people a choice – the freedom to decide whether or not they want to belong to a union in the first place. The freedom to decide whether or not they want union dues automatically deducted from their paychecks – to go to the union leaders who in turn can give it back to the Democrats. Very simple. Connect the dots. Think President Obama and unions all over the country aren’t focused on Wisconsin at this very moment? Think again.
Also, one big question people need to ask themselves – is the State of Wisconsin better off today – after a year of Governor Scott Walker – than the Doyle years? If you don’t answer “yes” – you aren’t being honest.

And who, pray tell, will arbitrate "fair"? Jealousy and envy are powerful emotions, and Obama sure likes to play off them.

Come on, are you saying EVERYONE that was out in Madison was a teacher? No DPW guys or members of any other unions? I did happen to catch one of Lake Country's finest teachers on national TV, though. He was frothing at the mouth and seemed to border psychotic. I thought it quite unprofessional for a degreed educator; I could see maybe if he was a truck driver or something.
"And where wearing badger and packer colors"
Maybe they were undercover thugs. :)
"I have never seen a union issue those."
You guys have team uniforms? ;)

like Ahemmer skip over the facts that more Republicans have been arrested for vigilante
acts than democrats. Calling teachers union thugs is like calling Scott Walker college
educated. They are both lies repubs tell to make something out as bigger than it is. Watch
the video link in my last post that's what a thug is
reformed trucker - Jan 25, 2012 8:34 PM
I never called teachers thugs, nor did I touch on the subject of arrests.
I think the email death threats Amy is talking about was that 28 year old female (Sun Prairie area; can't remember if she was a preschool teacher or a teacher's aide). She did make the threats, and they did investigate. They managed to drag it out in court in Madison, and she basically got off with a slap on the wrist and had to take some classes or something.

Yeah, that guy was a D-nozzle for sure...
achieve1 - Jan 25, 2012 9:03 PM
calling teachers thugs because the fact check sites have proven out that teachers unions
are nearly 98% run by teachers and former teachers not some mafia connected thugs.
The point of my conversation that you horned in on is the fact that the most arrests for
thug like actions were Republicans like the one I posted here.
ahemmer - Jan 25, 2012 9:08 PM
And Achieve1: Where oh where do any of the previous comments call teachers "union thugs?"
By the way Achieve1, there were union thugs with their signs all around the Special Olympics event, in addition to "student zombies" (who looked like idiots, I might add) too. See: http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2011/06/classy-wisconsin-union-thugs-disrupt-special-olympics-ceremony-video/ But it's all about "free speech" right Achieve1?
Did you say it was "free speech" when Joe Wilson yelled "liar" when Obama was lying about Obamacare in a previous State of the Union Campaign Speech? Somehow I bet you didn't...or when Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner pointed out that Michelle Obama has a big butt - and it's ironic that she wants to force school children to eat her approved school lunches..."free speech?"
No, Achieve1 - sometimes there is a time and a place to exercise decorum and civility. Like at a Special Olympics ceremony, or an opening ceremony at the family-friendly State Fair OR even at the State of the Union speech (no matter how packed with Obama lies they may be...)
BruceSpringsteen - Jan 25, 2012 9:36 PM
as you can get in a political sense. The Prosser-Kloppenburg election proved it.
There will be a successful recall.
The subsequent election will be close - very close.
The winner will not exceed 55% of the vote.
The state will remain sharply divided regardless of the outcome.
WI needs a leader to unite people - not divide them.
reformed trucker - Jan 25, 2012 10:33 PM
I assumed you could follow this train of thought; don't you have a scrap of paper from some government entity saying you're a "smarty-smart" person? I'll go slower...
Besides teachers protesting in Madison, there were other union members (DPW, construction workers, Teamsters, etc.)
Some of them acted thuggish.
That does not translate into teachers=Teamsters, or that teachers are owned by the mafia, or that teachers are thugs. I like to think that teachers conduct themselves with more decorum than a sweaty construction worker or a big, hairy Teamster.
"my conversation that you horned in on"
I do seem to do that frequently; I like to comment on the comments.
"like the one I posted here"
If you didn't notice, I agreed with you. I thought that guy was a D-nozzle (d0uch@-nozzle).

even 1 year of union thugery or ows ! And there are thousands of arrests !! lol...
Dumocrats you are blind to reality . Must be those blunts .

and change the argument. Let's stay on topic. You swung and missed already at trying to
define teachers as "union thugs". The true definition of thug is "a violent person esp a
criminal". No teacher union members were arrested for a violent act. However, the same
is not true for YOUR thugs who ARE the pure definition of the word. That gentalman in the
YouTube link I provided WAS arrested. Additionally, 6 other republicans inside of 2
months for violent "THUG" acts against teachers were as well. Excuse me for lowering
myself to your tactics for a moment but the issue here is that you and your tiny readership
here are cowards. I started the first post with a challenge to you (the real topic that you
avoided) Do you have the guts to stand in front of your child's favorite teacher and puke
your hate speech on them like you do so cowardly here? Let's see you have the strength
of your convictions to tell them they are over paid, under performing, union thugs and don't
deserve pentions... You don't have the guts... Nor do any of these reublicans. It's very
easy for you republicans to play arm chair quarterback from a safe distance. Or, in the
case of your more psychotic followers committ violent acts against nameless faces... But,
not one of you stand for your misguided agenda. You know what Walker and the repubs
pulled was wrong. Paying down a debt that was not directly caused by the teachers on
their backs and cutting education budgets at a drastic and irresponsible level is wrong and
you all know it. Other wise you should have no problem taking me up on my challenge
would you? Let's see if you can even retort once while staying on topic or without trying to
dismiss it with another excuse.

I'll wait for some actual documentation that backs up your claim. One YouTube video on one clown doesn't cut it.
Achieve1: Every time I am at a school board meeting I tell the audience exactly what I think. Many teachers have been attending school board meetings as of late, due to the discussions centering around their benefits. They know where I stand. In many areas, we agree to disagree, but I am honest about what I believe and I say so. (I have never called any teachers "Union thugs" - however, if a teacher were to behave like a union thug, I would see no problem in stating such.) So, Achieve1, I do stand before many teachers quite often and tell them what I think in regards to the topics we (the school board) are discussing. I do get a lot of eye-rolling, whispering, and snickers on occasion, but that's the way it goes. Things are changing for the better, and it is my belief that schools need to do their best to adjust to these difficult economic times and unsustainable situations.

Dumocrats see no problem on their side of issues ! Edumacated !!

Governor Walker leads ALL Democratic challengers and would win a recall election.
See: http://www.thestatecolumn.com/articles/wisconsin-poll-gov-scott-walker-would-win-recall-election/
What is also amazing is that suddenly the 2 million recall peition signatures supposedly submitted to the GAB has now become 700,000. What happened? Think the anti-Walker folks may have lied about how many signatures they really had in the first place?
And Walker's speech last night was just fantastic. Compare Walkers' speech to the little man-child's "State of the Union Campaign Speech from the night before (who simply recycled his old stuff from last year) - and there is no contest. Obama didn't have anything to say but the same old tired cliches and class envy theme he is so fond of. Obama's speech probably ended the need for people to take a Motrin PM to help them sleep that night...
Anyhow, my next blog will highlight Walker's wonderful speech and key moments. It will be a pleasure to work on.
Things are looking up Wisconsinites - in more ways than one!!!

I'm not anyhow; it's not an all-or-nothing. There were plenty of peaceful protestors exercising their rights.
"and of course, last but not forgotten, police officers."
Yikes! I hope not. There was video of that one guy acting like an azzhat wearing a Chicago P.D. stocking cap, but you can buy those on line without being an officer.
I have no problems with unions, besides the fact they place a salary cap on the good workers (there's ways around that in private sector unions). I have family members who are union.
ahemmer - Jan 26, 2012 8:12 PM
GWB: Much ado about nothing re: Walker. As Mark Belling pointed out today, anyone associated with Scott Walker could drop a toothpick on the sidewalk and be charged with a felony and lefties would demand the death penalty.
Does anyone notice how the Urinal/Sentinel is: dragging old stories out, repeating over and over the same John Doe garbage, and now a former worker who sent an e-mail on county time supportive of Walker (and quit her job because of it) is now almost one of the most wanted in the state. Egads.
And of course, we all know that no Democatic politicians have EVER worked on political campaign issues on the taxpayer dime - ever. Just doesn't happen. Wouldn't it be fun to check out the computer activity in Mayor Barrett's office just for grins?
