Tom "name the name" Barrett left speechless...
An interview with a Weekly Standard reporter exposed a flaw in Mayor Tom Barrett's claim that ACT 10 would destroy the public schools. Barrett, looking like a fool, was asked to name a single school district hurt by ACT 10. He couldn't. Barrett was speechless. Par for the course, Barrett tried to change the subject - not once, but twice. And then, after being asked the same question for a third time, Barrett responded with "We can do an analysis and get back to you on that." (Will this be before or after June 5th, Tom?) Wasn't ACT 10 the catalyst for going after Walker? And if so, wouldn't Barrett have a lengthy list on hand of those school districts "gutted" (favorite liberal buzzword) by evil Governor Walker and ACT 10?
Read the entire article regarding Barrett being unable to answer such a simple question at The Weekly Standard (written by John McCormack/May 30th, 2012) link below:
------------------------------
"Barrett Can't Name Any Schools Hurt by Walker's Collective Bargaining Reforms"
- a couple of choice excerpts:
"Wisconsin governor Scott Walker is facing a recall election on June 5 because of the law he signed last spring to limit the collective bargaining power of public employee unions--a reform his opponents said would be a "disaster" and destroy public education in the state. Walker's Democratic challenger, Milwaukee mayor Tom Barrett, acknowledged this morning that the collective bargaining issue was the "flame that started this" recall election, but Barrett couldn't point to a single public school that has been harmed by Walker's reforms."
and
"Not only has Barrett been unable to point to a single school district hurt by Walker's reforms, he has been unwilling to say how he would have balanced the budget differently than Walker did. Barrett was also unable yesterday to name a single policy he would pursue to create jobs in the state of Wisconsin."
------------------------------
Oh my goodness. Barrett and his supporters are at a loss. A loss to truly explain just WHAT the recall efforts are even about. They cannot offer up any evidence that Walker's reforms have hurt the state. They cannot honestly dispute the positive jobs numbers and improved lower unemployment percentages. They cannot dispute the fact that Walker balanced the state budget without massive lay-offs or raising taxes. They cannot dispute the fact that Wisconsin has moved way up in the rankings in the area of best states to do business in. (From the Business Journal: Wisconsin now ranks 20th on the annual list, moving up from 24 in 2011, according to the magazine's latest Best & Worst States Survey. The rise follows a 17-place jump last year from 41st place in 2010.)
More importantly, they cannot offer up any reason WHY Tom Barrett should become the next governor.
June 5th is shaping up to be a solid Walker victory. Not only are the polls repeatedly showing Walker with a lead, Barrett has been unable to inspire or rev up the anti-Walker lefties to any measurable degree. Barrett has nothing to offer other than his silly "Walker e-mails/John Doe ads" that make me laugh out loud whenever they are on the radio or television. They are akin to a short comedy skit.
Barrett's also not getting the initial support anymore from the Obama White House. Obama may have helped get Barrett to run in the first place, but now has thrown him under the bus. Obama won't visit Wisconsin, since even he realizes the Dems are facing a losing battle.
The "silent majority" - Republicans, conservatives, and other pro-Walker people - who have not been nearly as vocal as the unionistas and other lefties during this anti-Walker campaign are waiting for the election as their chance to be heard loud and clear. (Sure, we had a few pro-Walker rallies, but nothing as prominent or well-covered by the media as the take over of the state capitol and other anti-Walker events. But that's OK.) The momentum and drive is on our side - we - the majority of the people in the state of Wisconsin - will take back out state come June 5th. We are sick and tired of the recalls - recalls whose foundation was little more than displeasure with legislation being passed that a minority didn't like. We are sick and tired of liberal activist judges halting passed legislation like Voter ID to keep lefties happy for the time being. Well, too bad. Our day - June 5th - will soon be here. The Walker supporters - by all accounts - are chomping at the bit to vote. One poster on another website summed it up with "I would crawl over broken glass to vote for Governor Walker." I think he speaks for a lot of us. Enough is enough.
June 5th will see Walker win - and the state will continue on the road to prosperity, smaller government, and lower taxes - all while remaining fiscally responsible.
REMEMBER - VOTE JUNE 5th for Walker and take back our state!!!
------------------------------
(* Oh, and for those who may be confused by the title of my blog - remember when claims of voter fraud in Milwaukee and the state were sloughed off and sneered at by a disbelieving Mayor Barrett with his statements: "just one name!" and "name the names..." Eventually many names of people who cheated in the past elections were provided. No response from the Mayor, of course.
So it is with such irony that when Tom Barrett himself was asked (three times) to verify his claim that ACT 10 has harmed schools by "naming the name!" of any school district as proof - JUST ONE NAME of ANY school district harmed by ACT 10 - he couldn't do it.)

BTW, that same journalist from the Weekly Standard asked Barrett what legislation he has planned to grow jobs as soon as he is elected (assuming he is elected). Again, he had no answer. Too bad the Milw JS can't ask Barrett questions like that. The entire election is no longer about the union lies about Walker's bad ideas and policies for WI. It's now about jobs growth. yet Barrett has no plans for job growth. Maybe he doesn't know how after looking at his record as Mayor.
Liberalism is destroying America and we in WI are seeing this first hand

.."How does Barrett know Walker signed the petitions?
He doesn’t for sure, but he has heard that, says Phil Walzak, a Barrett campaign spokesman.
“He didn’t offer it as an attack or assertion, just as a discussion point,” Walzak said, noting that Barrett couched his statement by saying it was his “understanding.”
So Barrett throws ANYTHING out -hoping something sticks. And the e-mail/John Doe ads and talking points have become so hilarious. Every time one runs on the radio or television it is a hoot.
Don't even know if I'll bother watching the last Trolley Tom/Walker debate tonight. Trolley Tom will probably do little more than personally attack Walker, drop a few "divide and conquer" and "drop the bomb" Dem talking points ad nauseum and that will be it. Barrett can't run on his record. Barrett can't run on his accomplishments. Barrett can't run on what he'd DO as governor. So what's left?
Walker will behave in a civil, classy manner and continue to point out the facts - and his accomplishments and his record.
End of debate. Walker: 2, Barrett: 0.
Does anyone really need to watch Barrett make another fool of himself?
Does anyone really need any more information on all the good that Governor Walker has done for the state?
June 5th will soon be here and Governor Walker can yet again return to the great job of working to improve the state.

investigators and the lie about him opening the investigation. Barrett will beat Walker by
double digits... Clinton is coming in to assure Wisconsin Scott Walker is the radical right
rockstar and needs to go.

His LARGEST WI campaign donor paid NO state income tax. AMAZING. But, I
guess not really so much so because 70% of his campaign funds come from out of
state.

Barrett refused to answer 4 direct questions about what his jobs plan or balanced budget
strategy is. He answered all 4 times with a diversion or that he'd let the out of state
unions decide.
Barrett accused Walker of trying to scare people about what a dangerous dump MKE is.
Walker KO'd Barrett tonight by simply stating that the Walker plan is to spread the
success in WI into Milwaukee and invest hundreds of millions on jobs instead of a two
mile trolly loop! Barrets response.....(crickets) Get the smelling salts - Barrett is down!

Also, BS, as a side note: are you upset that Milwaukee County Executive multi-millionaire Chris Abele paid no state income taxes for the past four years??? http://www.jsonline.com/watchdog/noquarter/115537119.html
It might help you, too, BS, to understand the differences between personal income, capital gains, and/or how private businesses are structured.

“You know, for a hundred years now, people have looked to Wisconsin from all over this country, to see a place of small towns and vibrant cities; to see a place of farmers and factory workers and small business people; to see a place where there were vigorous political debates, closely held elections — and then people got together and figured out what the heck to do.
“And now they look at Wisconsin, and they see America’s battleground between people who want to work together to solve problems, and people who want to divide and conquer — people who know that creative cooperation is working in America, and people who want constant conflict.
“And here’s what I want to tell you. Tom was kind enough to say this in his introduction — I think I know a little bit about what would bring America back, what would bring economic recovery, what would enable us to have broadly shared prosperity. And I’ll tell you, if you go anywhere in America today, believe it or not, there are a lot of places that are already back. And they all have one thing in common. They’re dramatically different, but they all have one thing in common: They are involved in creative cooperation, not constant conflict.”

Hope it felt good because overpaying for public health care coverage and saddling the middle claass with higher taxes to keep the union special interests happy is a thing of the past.
Walker elbowed into the "creative cooperation" party and noted that there was no middle class private sector family at the table and we were all getting screwed.
Being "creative" by saying yes to the unions for votes is no way to lead.

And isnt' it funny how Barrett - attacking Walker non-stop during last night's debate, called Governor Walker a "rock star?" Why, the lefties and leftie media love that term when it comes to describing Obama. So what gives? It's OK to call Obama a "rock star" cuz supposedly he's so hip and cool (although a self-described "nerd" who has had no past girlfriends of which to speak?). Gosh, the double-speak and hypocrisy of the left is amazing.
Walker won last night - based on facts. Facts that the tag team of Tom Barrett and Mike Gousha couldn't dispute. Usually I think Mike Gousha is a pretty even keel fair guy, although last night he did seem to want to help Barrett. Although, maybe he just felt sorry for him.
Come June 5th, we will be celebrating. No matter what last minute shenanigans the Urinal/Sentinel can throw out there (like the baloney story of Walker "stonewalling" the John Doe - hey guys, Walker STARTED the John Doe!!!) or Barrett musters, people have gotten to the point where we don't care what comes out of Camp Barrett or the liberal media. We know what they are about. We know their agenda.
All Walker has to do is remain calm, cool, and collected - run on his record - and that will be the end of the story.
Let's all get out and vote - and motivate any couch potatoes who think Walker has it in the bag to get off their duffs and go vote, too. After all, we do have to overcome the cheat factor, as usual. But we WILL do it.
Lookin' good for Tuesday, folks!

Funny how 43% of the teachers who lost their jobs where from those school districts which DIDN'T utilize ACT 10 when available - and instead chose to sign teacher contracts.
(See: http://www.fox11online.com/dpp/news/local/on_assignment/candidates-differ-on-education-approach)
And lest we forget, many teacher layoffs in other districts are common at this time, based on - ta da - the number of student enrollments!!!
And Barrett cannot have it both ways. He's in "John ( "I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it.") Kerry" mode - Barrett was "for ACT 10 before he was against ACT 10"....
what a hoot.
yert49 - Jun 01, 2012 8:09 PM
Deep down you know that Walker is right on the issues. There is no going back. You guys are baying in the wind.

to what Walker said before hand . Then you would know that it is not true .
Bernie Ziebart - Jun 01, 2012 11:05 PM
With just a cursory search using Barrett and Act 10 in the seach, I have found that Barrett is on both sides of this issue.
Barrett condems Walker for not going far enough with Act 10. "...he should not have opted the police and fire out of this change in collective bargaining...The city of Milwaukee could have saved a great of money had the police and fire been included.."
Just 1 week later Barrett states, "Walker proves that he is determined to destroy the working class in this state by destroying collective bargaining."
Barrett uses Act 10 to save $25 million in the Milwaukee budget. And in fact exceeds the recommended minimum employee contribution for health and pension.
Barrett signs the recall petition because Act 10 is the wrong policy for Wisconsin.
Mr Barrett, please give us your real opinion of Act 10. You have ranged from the right of Walker to the left of Mike Tate.
But your opinion always is determined by who the audience is, proving that you really don't have character or a spine.
