What is going on with Newsweek?
Newsweek magazine, well-known for its ultra-left leanings, fawning lovefest with Obama, and open disdain for all things Republican and/or conservative, has come out with an August shocker:

Yes, you read that headline correctly. "Hit the road, Barack - Why We Need a New President." ON THE COVER OF NEWSWEEK!!!
The actual article was written by Niall Ferguson, a British historian and economist. In his column, Ferguson lists WHY Obama must not be re-elected, using factual examples of Obama's failings.
A small sampling:
1) Obama promised, when elected, to add new jobs and lay a foundation for economic growth. (We all know how well that worked out - unemployment went above 8% and continues to stay there. More people aren't even being counted in the unemployment numbers anymore since they have stopped looking for employment. The real national unemployment number is closer to 15%. Obama's open disdain for the private sector and hard workers was on full display when he arrogantly stated: "You didn't build that" when referencing those who did, indeed, build that. And the additional rules, regulations and taxes being imposed on businesses by an ever-expanding Obama government is NOT "laying the foundation for economic growth." Obama's policies are killing economic growth.)
2) Real median annual household income has dropped more than 5 percent since June 2009. Nearly 110 million individuals received a welfare benefit in 2011, mostly Medicaid or food stamps.
3) Since 2008, Obama's government has added 3.6 million people to the Social Security program under disability (for many, this is a last resort once 60 to 99 weeks worth of unemployment benefits run out.).
4) And all this despite a far bigger hike in the federal debt than we were promised. According to the 2010 budget, the debt in public hands was supposed to fall in relation to GDP from 67 percent in 2010 to less than 66 percent this year. If only. By the end of this year, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), it will reach 70 percent of GDP. These figures significantly understate the debt problem, however. The ratio that matters is debt to revenue. That number has leapt upward from 165 percent in 2008 to 262 percent this year, according to figures from the International Monetary Fund. Among developed economies, only Ireland and Spain have seen a bigger deterioration.
5) Unemployment was supposed to be 6 percent by now. It has averaged 8.2 percent this year so far. (It was even as high as 10% early in Obama's term.)
6) Not only did the initial fiscal stimulus fade after the sugar rush of 2009, but the president has done absolutely nothing to close the long-term gap between spending and revenue.
7) Welcome to Obama’s America: nearly half the population is not represented on a taxable return—almost exactly the same proportion that lives in a household where at least one member receives some type of government benefit. We are becoming the 50–50 nation—half of us paying the taxes, the other half receiving the benefits.
Ferguson points out many other Obama broken promises and policy disasters (including, of course, health care reform known as "Obamacare"or "Obamatax") , and reaches the following conclusion:
It will be interesting to see future editions of Newsweek. Only time will tell if the Obama story is just an anomaly - or are the folks at Newsweek REALLY tearing up their Obama Fan Club membership cards...

Shame on Newsweek for not having fact checkers.
WFB resident - Aug 21, 2012 8:53 PM
. You do not agree with it so all of a sudden the facts were not checked !! lol... So
when the magazine told you what you want to hear. The facts were not suspect ?
lol... Not I thought you were banned ? I guess for 1 day only .

you originally believed it to be.
Something tells me that you won't accept this scenario as being a possibility.

If you don't listen to conservative talk radio, you wouldn't know the level of disbelief and head shaking taking place. People aren't totally buying the sudden 180 degree turn by such a known ultra-leftie magazine. Many of us are still puzzled as to the true motives at Newsweek...

Fact: National unemployment is STILL above 8%. (In reality, it is much more if those people who have stopped looking for a job are included.)
Fact: Obama's stimulus bill (Generational Theft Act) did next to nothing to create "shovel ready jobs" and keep unemployment from going above 8%.
Fact: Obama has grown the debt of the United States. From CBS (Communist Broadcast Network, so lefties will believe it): http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-57400369-503544/national-debt-has-increased-more-under-obama-than-under-bush/
From the CBS site: "The National Debt has now increased more during President Obama's three years and two months in office than it did during 8 years of the George W. Bush presidency. The Debt rose $4.899 trillion during the two terms of the Bush presidency. It has now gone up $4.939 trillion since President Obama took office." And: "The National Debt also now exceeds 100% of the nation's Gross Domestic Product, the total value of goods and services."
The "facts" are nasty things, aren't they, jman99... Obama doesn't like 'em too much, either, and prefers to blame Bush (that's a fact, too!)
Need more? I can provide...

The answer is a combination of 1 and 4. They certainly need to attract conservative subscribers because they comprise the majority of Americans with expendable income. Besides, they won't alienate lefties because most of them just read the headlines and look at the pictures so they probably think "Why we need a new president" means that they are suggesting Obama get a fashon makeover.

Sometimes the truth is so loud and the lie so blatant that the media cannot even support one of their darlings like Tammy Baldwin when she looks in the camera and lies right to the people she is taxing out of their homes.
Apparently there are still a few reporters that consider truth as an element of their job.

I just celebrated my 90th birthday July and it was the hottest month on record. Someone told me it was because Venus was aligned with Mars.
Maybe that is why Newsweek had the story.
That would be possibility #5.
I vote for #5

any laws ?? lol... Again what was news worthy ?

Yes well, they've been using another Harvard genius as their punching bag for the last 3+ years saying a Harvard education means nothing and now they have a Harvard educated genius running for office and this one spewing.
Now the right seems to love Harvard more than ever.

It is so obvious and yet these guys at the two major weekly's are so blind. If they just once in a awhile aimed their cover stories at the majority of conservative people in this countrythey will figure out that all of their advertising worries will go away. Hat's off to Newsweek for at least giving it a shot. But like Amy, I'm sure will find out that this guy is one armed nose-picker and will be completely discredited by next week.
WFB resident - Aug 22, 2012 12:48 PM
have of this ? Any ? How about his failed policies ? How about anything in reality ?
Do you think the magazine has fact checkers ? lol... All of a sudden when the news
goes against what you want to believe that is when you doubt the abillities of a
Harvard Graduate ? lol... The street runs both ways jman ...

How does ANYONE know that Barry O is a "genius?" Sure, the media and libs like to buy into this notion, without any proof.
When Obama is off-prompter, he is a bumbling idiot. He can read really well, but when he has to think on his own two feet, all bets are off.
And as for being such a "genius" - we'll never know until we see his grades and his admission papers into Harvard, now, will we? Could be that Barry got a helping hand to get into college via Affirmative Action...
In addition, Barry probably killed off many of his "genius" brain cells smoking pot and snorting coke during his formative years...yet, he is a "genius?" I find him to be more of an arrogant imposter - enjoying the perks of the presidency at the expense of America and the American people.

At my numbers I'll take as many birthdays the good Lord wants to throw at me!
Just so you know, I quit Newsweek a long time ago - kept gettin thinner and thinner.
And, just so you know, I think anybody who goes to Harvard is a genius smarty-pants. I am just happy I made it out of high school!
Now, about that swimming nude in a lake - that is all I ever did when I was growing up. But then I got married and thought I better cover up, if you know what I mean! But if I got caught swimming naked today, I know my wife would have some spittin words for me!
