Round 1 to Romney
WOW!
Mitt Romney was the clear winner after the first presidential debate between himself and Obama.
From the start, Romney looked very comfortable, composed, and presidential. Romney came out swinging for the first 30 minutes, taking control right away. For every one jab Obama took at him, Romney came back with three solid factual retorts. Obama tended to hang his head and smirk - and appeared to be simply enduring the debate. Contrast that with Romney, who seemed happy to be there. What was surprising about "The One" were his teleprompter-less use of slang: "jerk around" and "kids?" What? Presidential? No. When Obama is left to his own devices, without the words in front of him to read, he stumbles. At times, Obama's responses wandered off and he appeared to be losing his train of thought. Obama even ended up being allowed to "present his case" four minutes longer than Romney. Guess in this debate it wasn't quantity, it was quality, since Obama clearly was the loser. He did not have the media to run interference nor did he have his beloved teleprompter to recite off of... Romney stayed focused, didn't go off on tangents, and slammed home factual points about his own plans if elected AND calmly criticized (with facts) the past four dismal years of Obama.
What I found amusing was Obama's insistence that "Romney isn't telling us his plan." This isn't quite true, as both Romney and Ryan have indeed presented plans for an American recovery to the people - the mainstream media just doesn't tend to bother to report such. As for not "telling us his plan," look in the mirror, Mr. Obama. Who kept his ultra-liberal/socialist plans under wraps until elected? Oh, sure, Barry slipped up once on the campaign trail with his "Joe the Plumber" moment - admitting he wanted to "spread the wealth." But for the most part, Obama was allowed a free pass regarding his questionable associations with known terrorists and socialists, as well as what his true plans were to "re-build" America. And I laughed out loud when Obama claimed his number one responsibility is to keep the country safe as "Commander-In-Chief." Tell that to murdered American Ambassador Chris Stevens - who pleaded with those in power (Obama & Co.) to beef up security in the embassy he was stationed (to no avail). Romney could have really had a field day with Obama's response - look at the Middle East right now. Riots and terrorist attacks. Iran getting closer to a nuclear bomb - and continually threatening Israel. Israel being left out in the cold by Obama & Co.
Romney got it right on jobs, the economy, and the military. Romney scored big points by turning around and pointing to the Constitution and Declaration of Independence (displayed behind the debater's podiums)- saying he truly believes in what they stand for. He considers it to be the job of the President to support and uphold these documents which are the very foundation of the country. (Quite a contrast to the beliefs of Obama.)
What is very encouraging about the first debate is that fifty million people tuned in. I'd venture to say that many "undecided" voters were among them. Without the mainstream media filter to twist, spin, distort, and lie about Mitt Romney, (and continue to promote their pro-Obama agenda) many of the "undecideds" got a chance to see and hear the real Mitt Romney - the one most of us already know and want to vote for. Also, because fifty million viewers saw the debate, the media cannot declare Obama the winner - too many people know they would be lying. So surprise of all surprises, the media begrudgingly gives this one to Romney!
Way to go Mitt! Job well done...
On to Ryan vs. Biden... while they have many differences, at least both men agree that under Obama "the middle class has been buried..." Biden, like his boss, doesn't stand a chance.

Everything Obama says now is going to seem made-up. The camera doesn't lie. He is washed up.

When Regan did it (and he did!), his fans called it "folksy", and his detractors called it un-presidential.

Unless an amazing misstep occurrs, I find it hard to beleive thy'll change anybodys mind. I wonder how many people are currently undecided and yet will probably actually submit a vote. I suspect very few.

As for the 47% - you want to know why Obama didn't bring it up? Cuz Romney was right there to strike it down. See, janet, Obama & Co. have been putting forth a lie - a lie that Romney "doesn't care about 47%." Not true in the least. If you would look past the Obama prism, you'd know that Romney meant 47% of the voters are going with Obama. He doesn't need to go after them. He needs to go after the independents to be assured of a victory. Quite a different meaning from how Barry & Co. are spinning it. I really hope that Barry bring up the 47% in the next debate. Romney would have a golden opportunity to set the facts straight for the nation, and the media would not be able to do anything about it.

Is that the kind of person you want in charge of your kids' future?

Take him through all three rounds and let him wear himself out. Eventually Romney will fall down all on his own.

If you are referring to Romney's statement:
“I’m going to stop the subsidy to PBS. I’m going to stop other things. I like PBS. I love Big Bird. I actually like you too. But I’m not going to keep on spending money on things to borrow money from China to pay for things we don’t need.”
Good for Romney! The nation does not NEED to fund that PBS (which is a leftie broadcasting company, anyhow) nor should it. See, jman99, it's this kind of stuff - wasteful spending - that really needs to be addressed. And Romney will do that.
As for your comment about "the old guy," - too funny! Mark Belling (WISN-1130) just started his radio show today with the line "who was that tired old man that was debating Mitt Romney last night?" :)

Obama look tired. Obama looked down at his shoes a lot - smirking. Romney (and I disagree with Carl Hicks saying Romney looked "desperate and nervous?" No way. Romney was calm, cool, and knew his stuff) was enthusiastic, well-spoken, and resorted to using facts to present his points. Obama, without his 'prompter, looked like he'd rather be somewhere else - maybe on a golf course or having a love fest with the gals on "The View." He was lost, boring, and told a lot of outright lies - which Romney didn't let slip by. And the media wasn't there to save his butt.
Cannot wait for Round 2 - also looking forward to Ryan/Biden (that should be billed as a "comedy show" rather than a debate!!!).

Here's Romney addressing the "47% comment." Please watch it janet. Listen and learn. Romney isn't out to "get" seniors or those who are ill or suffering or facing dire situations. Far from it.

I DO hope that Obama brings up the "47%" comment. Just for you, janet. So you won't continue to believe that Romney somehow has it in for the elderly and sick in the country. You probably believe that Republicans want all people to breath dirty air and drink dirty water and push grandma and grandpa off cliffs, etc. All the liberal fairy tales.
Romney also explains the difference between his philosophy and Obama's in that Romney wants to get people working and off of welfare, whereas Obama wants to get people onto the government dole (that's how Obama defines "success."). A big difference between the two men, isn't it janet? Now ask yourself, which one is really MORE compassionate?
jman99 - Oct 04, 2012 4:39 PM
Yup, two republican wars financed by China.
But lets kill Big Bird instead.
Big Bird, after all, is all that is wrong with this country.

Oh my goodness. Jman99 is going beserk over Big Bird - keep at it, jman99! It's good for a laugh!
And janetluvshorses: geez. Your liberal angst continues to shine through in your comments. Sorry, janet. But the Messiah was a big flop last night. Even the leftie media is forced to say so. Romney explained himself quite well last night - if you were willing to listen. Romney flip flops? When? Please list some examples, janet, so we can take you seriously.
I would really judge the success of Romney last night by the venom being shown by the lefties today - the little man-child included. Yep, folks. Obama now is saying the country didn't see the "real Romney." I disagree. All across America - closer to 60 million people rather than the 50 million I originally stated in my blog - finally got a chance to see the real Romney - which has not been allowed because of the media. The media didn't want Romney's message to get out. The media didn't want Romney's plans (and Ryan's) to get out. Well, the media cannot control the debates and what gets sent out to televisions and radios across the country. Thank goodness! Romney WAS able to get his message out without the media running interference for Team Obama. And Obama was left at the podium to struggle on his own, without the media to deflect criticism, without his handlers to tell him what to say - and most importantly - Obama was "off prompter." Looking like a pathetic empty suit, who never should have become president in the first place.

the next debate if Romney loses I would like 6 excuses from the PDLS's on why it
happened ! lol...
