I have a background in science and writing. I consider myself liberal, progressive, environmentally aware on many issues, but also believe that conservatism has a place and is valid.
To discharge or otherwise discriminate against any individual because of any of the following
http://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/statutes/statutes/111/II/322
Prohibited bases of discrimination. Subject to ss. 111.33 to 111.365, no employer, labor organization, employment agency, licensing agency, or other person may engage in any act of employment discrimination as specified in s. 111.322 against any individual on the basis of age, race, creed, color, disability, marital status, sex, national origin, ancestry, arrest record, conviction record, military service, use or nonuse of lawful products off the employer's premises during nonworking hours, or declining to attend a meeting or to participate in any communication about religious matters or political matters.
In this case "political discrimination" on who's going to get layed off first.

Scott Walkers DWD civil rights division does not know the state law and we were ignored.
His employee's must be protected and only we can do it.

I'll keep it simple. I was remarking on how loooooong the titles to your posts are. I used your Grothman one as an example. That's it. It's akin to you deciding to do a blog on Lincoln's Gettysburg address and posting the whole address as your title. Get it now?
@MC: I was a substitute teacher for 4 1/2 years. Haven't taught since winning a seat on a school board since one is not allowed to sub in the schools for which they are elected to be on the board. I left my position as a sub and went back to the private sector. As for my use of the "your" and "you" I think it is easy to see I transposed the two words. My comments and blogs, unlike Jacob's (and Jake - it's called "spell check" - give it a try sometime!) are not ripe with incorrect grammar, poor spelling, poor sentence structure, and incoherent ramblings. Sometimes it is really just painful to try to read Jake's stuff, although most of the time I don't bother. And remember, Jake is the one who claims to have a "background in writing!" That's a hoot in itself.
Now have a great day! The sun is shining and all is right with the world except for the re-election of President Kardashian. But, being a conservative, we will move on, re-group, and come back stronger. Keep the faith! We WILL weather this storm for two/four more years. I just guess it has to get really, really bad before more people realize what a huge mistake they made by re-electing this clown before common sense clicks in! :)

When public schools find a way to rid themselves of poor quality substitute
teachers and incompetent school board members, then education might be on the
right track. -sosaystheBOSS
Congratulations Mr. President!

Boss hog is correct , We need to oust the bad teachers . The best way to start is to
get rid of the unions !

My guess is that Jake is an advocate of free speech unlike the person making the
nasty and vile, as well as off topic comments.
I was looking at the first link to MC's blog. I followed the link to the review of
Hayett's business. Seems like a few negative reviews of Hayett's character could be
affecting business.
In one of my last posts which Jim blocked (probably something I said) I asked
about business being slow that he needed to fire someone; I stated that maybe
some of his customers were reading his blog.
Hey MC Jim was under the impression that I was you. No matter how much I tried
to dissuade him of him of his delusion it was to no avail.
But then Jim doesn't like, trust, or believe anything a "liberal" (a term misused by
Jim to label everyone who didn't agree with him) had to say.
Jim's blog was never a debate because he refused to let it be a debate. A debate
requires a free exchange of ideas generally arriving at some form of a consensus.

voted for you ! Has anyone noticed that an employer only has to pick the employee
that does not mesh with the owners ideas for the company ? It is a wonderful thing ,
Usually the ones that do not mesh well are those that I disagree with . lol...Boss Hog
and ex why are you not discussing the topic ?

It is a sound management practice to terminate employees that damage your bottom line if it does not serve to improve product, customer service, morale or quality of work conditions. Voting in favor of taxing your employer at a higher rate is a sign-off on becoming laid off.
When companies like CostCo, Olive Garden, Jimmy Johns, American Family, Ford, GE, ... elect to dramatically reduce their full time employee base in favor of sub-contracters, LTE's and 30 hour per week part-timers on flex-shifts, they are all doing what higher taxes and ObamaCare provide incentives for.
Some employers like Rite Hite, Olive Garden, CostCo (and perhaps Jim) were just being honest about it in advance.

Mucho - We all have a constitutional right to vote the way we choose, as does the employer. That being said a "Voter" is a protected class either way they vote. So as an employer if I threaten your job to you vote the WAY i want you too, and you don't vote the way I want you too, and fire you; it is clear discrimination not based on performance but based on politics.
Mucho it is clear by your response you don't beleive in the constitutional right to vote the way someone chooses without retribution.

Highlight because it so plainly showed his deep felt hate at anything liberal even to the point of threatening his own employees.
Low light, because It showed so plainly that there were indeed such hateful people in this world that they would resort to such measures and then brashly brag about what they were doing, as if they had some special privileged bestowed on them by their version of "capitalism" to take such inhuman actions.
No, I will not, and cannot take any credit for this.
Hayett did it all to himself: He was the master of his soul.
Mucho - Nov 13, 2012 2:52 PM
Replace the word "retribution" with consequences and you nailed it. Lots of companies took a "wait and see" approach to the election regarding cost of full time employees going into 2013. The re-election of Obama comes with a certain package of costs (higher taxes on small businesses and costs of PPACA) that would not be there if another candidate would have won.
While Obama was not honest about the impact his re-election would have on small businesses and large companies with thousands of low wage workers, many employers like Rite Hite, Papa John's and Jim were. You can condemn these employers for presenting the truth but there is nothing illegal about it.
It should not be and is not illegal for an employer to inform their employees about their company's outlook/business forecast should certain things occur (NAFTA, tarriffs, immigration reform, higher min wage, ObamaCare, GTAC mine approval, Keystone pipeline passage, bailout of GM, Medicare reimbursement changes, NASA program shutdowns, Defense budget sequestering, another Stimulus....).
I prefer to have as much information about policy impacts as possible before I determine my approval or disapproval of a candidate, policy or bill. Voters have the right to be as informed or ignorant as they choose. However, it would be irresponsible of an employer to shield their employees from facts that could impact their livelihood. Rite Hite, Papa John's, Olive Garden and Jim provided such information regarding the costs of a second term for Obama so they should not be surprised. Just as the Public School Teachers were advised of the consequences of a Scott Walker election...twice. You can't have it both ways.

dumb ones assume that thy are only laying off because of their vote ! lol... Not that
the vote forces their layoffs !!! You are correct thst the ones who voted the o in
should be the ones to reap its effect ! We should have a law that says the way you
vote directly connects to how you have a job !!!
BruceSpringsteen - Nov 13, 2012 6:11 PM
We should have a law that says the way you vote directly connects to how you
have a job !!!
Really? That would mean that all republicans would be relegated to the fast food
industry. That's not so good.

Funny, the only place where they don't pay for "socialist healthcare" is in the USA.

"Caleb Melby of Forbes has graciously done the math on Obamacare’s cost to Papa John’s and according to his analysis, to cover the cost of Obamacare, the pizza chain would have to raise prices by 3.4 to 4.6 cents per pie -- way less than the 11 to 14 cents Schnatter claims he needs.
And there are other changes the chain could make to save some money, Melby notes, like not giving away 2 million pizzas for free at a cost of between $24 and $32 million to the company, for example. "
Perhaps he needs to pay for this:

Nope its not:
Saying that you will fire anyone who votes for the guy you don't like, is illegal.
Employers are not omnipotent. Capitalism does not make them so.
yert49 - Nov 13, 2012 10:03 PM
the cost of this program. Which is more then the media did on behalf of all the
entire left, who care only about taxing the rich, gay rights and abortion on demand.
Just remember that you have already eliminated half of the population from taxes
and now your demanding that they pay for this fiasco. The least you could do is
say thanks and then you could tell the truth. However, that may be hard for you
since that was the first thing you've sacrificed on Election Day.
