@MC: I was a substitute teacher for 4 1/2 years. Haven't taught since winning a seat on a school board since one is not allowed to sub in the schools for which they are elected to be on the board. I left my position as a sub and went back to the private sector. As for my use of the "your" and "you" I think it is easy to see I transposed the two words. My comments and blogs, unlike Jacob's (and Jake - it's called "spell check" - give it a try sometime!) are not ripe with incorrect grammar, poor spelling, poor sentence structure, and incoherent ramblings. Sometimes it is really just painful to try to read Jake's stuff, although most of the time I don't bother. And remember, Jake is the one who claims to have a "background in writing!" Hayett's business. Seems like a few negative reviews of Hayett's character could be
affecting business.
In one of my last posts which Jim blocked (probably something I said) I asked
about business being slow that he needed to fire someone; I stated that maybe
some of his customers were reading his blog.

It is a sound management practice to terminate employees that damage your bottom line if it does not serve to improve product, customer service, morale or quality of work conditions. Voting in favor of taxing your employer at a higher rate is a sign-off on becoming laid off.

When companies like CostCo, Olive Garden, Jimmy Johns, American Family, Ford, GE, ... elect to dramatically reduce their full time employee base in favor of sub-contracters, LTE's and 30 hour per week part-timers on flex-shifts, they are all doing what higher taxes and ObamaCare provide incentives for.

Some employers like Rite Hite, Olive Garden, CostCo (and perhaps Jim) were just being honest about it in advance.

Replace the word "retribution" with consequences and you nailed it. Lots of companies took a "wait and see" approach to the election regarding cost of full time employees going into 2013. The re-election of Obama comes with a certain package of costs (higher taxes on small businesses and costs of PPACA) that would not be there if another candidate would have won.

While Obama was not honest about the impact his re-election would have on small businesses and large companies with thousands of low wage workers, many employers like Rite Hite, Papa John's and Jim were. You can condemn these employers for presenting the truth but there is nothing illegal about it.

It should not be and is not illegal for an employer to inform their employees about their company's outlook/business forecast should certain things occur (NAFTA, tarriffs, immigration reform, higher min wage, ObamaCare, GTAC mine approval, Keystone pipeline passage, bailout of GM, Medicare reimbursement changes, NASA program shutdowns, Defense budget sequestering, another Stimulus....).

I prefer to have as much information about policy impacts as possible before I determine my approval or disapproval of a candidate, policy or bill. Voters have the right to be as informed or ignorant as they choose. However, it would be irresponsible of an employer to shield their employees from facts that could impact their livelihood. Rite Hite, Papa John's, Olive Garden and Jim provided such information regarding the costs of a second term for Obama so they should not be surprised. Just as the Public School Teachers were advised of the consequences of a Scott Walker election...twice. You can't have it both ways.

Nobody did that. All else being equal between two employees why would you keep the one that contributed to lower profits?

As for Papa John's, it is the small business franchise owners that will be paying the price or dodging the cost for Obamacare. These are the "super rich" people that leveraged their life savings, took a risk and employeed people. After 1-3 years of struggling to break even, they might pull in $200K in a year working 70 hours per week. Obamacare gives them a huge financial incentive to replace 3 full time people with 4 part time people to avoid the rate hike in Health Care coverage. Being honest with their employees up front was a respectable thing to do. Now they have to act on the results.

Compensation modifies behavior. Knowing that even the simpletons in the Obama Administration can grasp Economics 101, Obamacare is designed to fail so harsher restrictions (higher taxes, rationed coverage, more mandates) "must" follow.

When I fill up my car with gas - I pay a TAX. I own a home and come the end of the year - I pay a proprerty TAX. When my SS check arrives it has a portion of it removed - called Federal income TAX withholding. Now when I sit down and fill out my Federal and State income TAX forms, I follow the same rules and regulations as Willard "Offshore" Romney does. He uses deductions to reduce his taxable income and thus his income TAX. Guess what, when he gets done, he still owes something. When I get done, my taxable income is so low, I get a refund of what was withheld. I'll agree I don't pay any INCOME tax, but I sure as heck pay a whole bunch of other TAXES. Try being more accurate when you claim "eliminated half the population from taxes".
