Holiday Carols which do not pertain to God, the birth of Jesus, or Christianity (which should make any leftie happy this time of year - and the "perpetually offended" crowd who cannot stomache any references to religion around December 25th). Although in a way it is a sad commentary on the state of the nation when people feel the need to make YouTube videos pertaining to how the Dear Leader is bringing socialism to the country ala Christmas (OOPS!) Holiday tunes.
Geez, even when Jimmy Carter was prez, we didn't highlight the "socialism" aspect and the "pro-entitlement, me-me-me" thought processes we see today.
It was never as bad as we see now. Never such a threat to America and the Constitution.
Sad but true.
America has seen better days, and they are in the past until we get Obama out of office and get a true pro-American conservative leader/leaders in office to try to undo some of the damage.
What Obama is doing is destroying America. If we didn't have the opportunity to laugh about it once in a while (like listening to these spot-on video parody songs), we'd be crying. Although, after hearing from friends, neighbors, etc., I do think that many people are still saddened by what the next four years mean - more of the demise of the country. Sad that the me-me-me crowd doesn't care about America, but only cares about what Baracka Claus can give them...

Not wrong at all; as to the original topic, its not worth discussing. It makes even an atheist (me) sad that during this time of year when light and joy should reign, some people would wallow in their pettiness.

Schiller was an incredible thinker of the time.

I know a few who are musicians, and they never turn down a gig this time of year to play Christmas Carols. To them it's just music, and they love music, especially good music.

Ah yes the school "Holiday Program". I still remember (vaguely, it was over 40
years ago) "performing" in my grade schools Holiday Program and all the
socialist..err, I mean Christmas Carols we sang for our parents.

Ah, what fond memories.

Yes ex the era when you could bring a fire arm to school for speech class ! lol... Yep
when God was further in the classroom ! Thanks atheists for causing those who got
shot in schools !

No...even back then you would have had to inform the school that you would like
to use a gun in a class presentation. And I knew of a few kids that tried to bring in
stuff like that for speech in high school that were turned down. Even in the '70's
you would have been unceremoniously hauled off to jail if you showed up at
school with a fire arm.

The only "God" I remember in the classroom was the pledge of allegiance and I
never studied "Creationism". I do remember a funky sixth grade class in which
we built a cave in the corner on the classroom and learned what burnt chocolate
milk taste like. General education should be just that; general. Any "religious"
education should be provided by the church the person attends.
