What are you on??"
WFB is high on hate. I'm sure you've seen a few of those in your time. they say hate is the best drug there is. It lets you do or say anything and justify it with total nonsense.

LOL.
In our school, back in the day, the boys werent allowed to take home-ec.

you would have been unceremoniously hauled off to jail if you showed up at
school with a fire arm.
An absolute fallacy.
Many of us hunted and trapped after or before school and always had our guns neatly and safely stored in our vehicles. Everyone knew it, many a time we all would go hunting right after school and none of us ever got in trouble for having our guns on school property.
Heck some of us had hours of free time during school and would leave for a couple hours to go pheasant hunting or to check our trap lines. Those of us with trap lines always carried 22s with us and those too were safely stored in our cars.
No one ever threaten to take them away or told us to take them home.
More than once I remember teachers and facility asking how we did hunting or how was the trapping season going, it was a way of life back then.
No one made bomb threats or wrote threating notes in the bathroom Ya wanted to disrupt the day some numskull would pull a fire alarm Harmless pranks.
Today it seems these folks doing these horrific things are only trying to one up the previous shooting, in their sick minds I guess they feel this is their 15 minutes of fame.
Why else would they all commit suicide before being apprehended by the law?
It’s like in their warped minds their legacy in history.
You can make as many gun laws as you want someone bent on doing this will always find a way.
That’s just the way the world is today ya want to kill folks hijack planes and crash them you want your warped legacy remembered find a gun and kill innocent kids or build a fertilizer bomb and blow up a government building. Where there’s a will they will always find a way.
No laws going to change how these people think or stop them from carrying out they sick senseless plan. Sorry for being off topic but you guys have to start looking at the truth instead of the blame game. its the people not the weapon of choice.

school for a speech class ! Just because you went to Liberal schools that had gun
issues already by then (because of banning ) Does not mean all had a problem !
lol...I do find it funny that you PDLS's ban guns and want to throw law abiding people
in jail but you follow a man who bombed US properties where some people died and
does not waver from saying he would do it again named ayers ! What are you
PDLS's slow ?

An absolute fallacy."
Even in the '70's you would have been unceremoniously hauled off to jail if you showed up at most schools with a fire arm.
An absolute truth.

Why?
Would you listen? Would you understand? Would you learn?
Your history says no.

And no it wasn’t downtown Milwaukee I did not go to school there. But I did work there in those days we all got along pretty well I never worried about being shot while working in an area of different ethnic origin, My point being it was never the weapon but the person behind the weapon whatever weapon they chose.
1 last thing this sort of stuff didn’t happen back then sure there were nuts but I don’t remember reading or hearing about mass shootings at a school churches or malls in the 70s. So what makes it different now think about it?
What is so different now compared to those years?
The answer is simple

Does anyone here remember "speech class" in the 1980's? Can you tell us which schools had "speech class"? "
Yes where was that?

People are singing the wrong Christmas carols now, obviously.

In addition, there are many websites out there devoted to speech classes. I, too, recall taking speech in high school in the '70's. We had to do impromptu speeches, short speeches, long speeches, demonstration speeches, etc. They taught speaking skills, research skills (on various topics, whether chosen or assigned), and poise.
I would slso venture to say that "speech class" may fall under different educational headings these days in many schools, such as being included in "Language Arts." I even found a site where "speech" is included under IT. I find it amusing that you go after WFB just for mentioning speech class, as though he/she is making it up.
And TomBal: I do know of schools (a lot of southern schools included) where students did indeed drive to school with shotguns in their gun racks in the back of pick-up trucks.
I do think that one thing that makes gun shootings more common (although NOT as prevelant as lefties would have us believe, only a very, very tiny portion of the populations does such things - it's just the fact that the media reports on them non-stop for days and weeks and months that make them seem more common than they really are) is the use of the "gun free zone" signs. The signs tell any nut job - hey, c'mon in! No one can defend themselves!!!
ahemmer - Dec 23, 2012 12:42 PM
Just another example of how the "holier than thou" liberal crowd sneer at anyone who lives a life devoted to their faith. I would think the lefties would love the Obama Christmas Carols, although in the future the "parody" part would be replaced with complimentary stanzas. Much like the small children who sang a pro-Obama song in a public school setting (who can forget "Barack Hussein Obama...mmm...mmmm..mmmm!).
Who knows, if things keep going "The Obama Way," maybe in the future we'll have a holiday set aside for Barry's birth date - maybe Christmas will eventually become forgotten, cuz Barry IS the Savior in the minds of many lefties and the pro-entitlement "me-me-me" crowd.

No, no no, you dont get it.. NOBODY thinks of Tebow anymore in ANY context.
And (to paraphrase your own statement) "you gotta admit, it's pretty funny"
(Wait, thats right. You DIDNT get it. Trust me, its funnier than your carols).

away if you had brought a fire arm INTO school.
Ok Tom, you kept the guns "safely stored" in your vehicle. Did anyone try to bring
a gun into the school, what do you suppose what would have happened to
anyone who was found with a gun in the building?
I don't remember ever having a speech class in the parking lot.
jman99 - Dec 23, 2012 1:10 PM
But I've not seen "speech class" in this context. I have seen it used in another context as remedial therapy for kids with problems in verbal presentation for what ever reason.
Carl Hicks - Dec 23, 2012 1:54 PM
in school was the gun range under the pool.
ExToDResident - Dec 23, 2012 6:20 PM
However, alteman...oops I mean irked...err, I mean WFB resident used the words
"speech class" so when responding to his post I thought it best to use the same
term. In hopes of not confusing him anymore than he already is.
Carl Hicks - Dec 23, 2012 6:21 PM
possible.
