NRA calls the shots...
Americans should applaud the NRA for:
1) Having the backbone to stand up to the Dear Leader (unlike many Republican and Conservative politicians)
2) Pointing out the glaring hypocrisy of the left. The "do as we say not as we do" crowd."
3) Pointing out that children DO deserve to be safe in schools.
4) All of the 23 (yes, you read that correctly) Executive Orders that Obama issued today in regards to gun control (oops, forgot the new moniker is now "gun violence") not one of them would have done ANYTHING to prevent Sandy Hook, Virginia Tech, or other mass shootings. Plain and simple. All Obama is doing is targeting law-abiding citizens and their right to bear arms. (And Rush Limbaugh made an excellent point on his conservative talk radio show earlier - Obama wants more and more in-depth background checks and information on Americans - mainly on people who wish to buy and/or sell guns and/or visit a health care provider as to their mental state). When will we Americans get a background check on President Obama? Obama has YET to be properly vetted. What's up with that?)
5) The elitism of Obama and Co. is on full display (and the NRA commercial sure is "on target."). For some reason, Obama and his fellow socialists seem to believe they know best and the government can solve all of societies problems. Here's a news flash: Obama and Co. have no clue what is best for the American individual, and the government cannot solve every problem that pops up. (In fact, I'd venture to argue that the Obama government of today is the leader in creating problems (Obamacare anyone?).
6) Not caring if Obama and other lefties criticize and attack them for this commercial. (Already the liberal media is in a tizzy over this ad...)
Thank you, NRA - for having the guts to do what too many of our elected officials of today are afraid of. We need more people to stand up and speak out for America - and not let Obama destroy our country before our very eyes.

Conservatives are typically in favor of user fees as opposed to the liberal redistribution of wealth schemes - just ask one. It is no mystery that Doyle literally ran away from public office and disappeared because of the economic mess he left WI in. No need to scapegoat Doyle because he knew he couldn't get re-elected so he quit. The voters asked Walker to fix the problems left behind and we trust that he will. Conservatives are willing to pay for what they use - As soon as liberals are, the State and Country will get back on track.

Apparently, georgedubya and the lefties assumed Walker was going to play the "I didn't know how bad things really were" card that Doyle and Obama have pulled over on the underinformed voters.
Kudos to Walker for facing issues head on instead of passing the buck. Lot of work left but with a bill on the floor to prevent future DOT raids, a fully funded retirement plan, lower taxes, State employee benefits still higher than Obama's Federal workers and another balanced budget coming up, things look good!

(By the way, Mucho is right on. Wasn't Diamond Jim Doyle the one who, as Gov, continually raided the Trasportation Fund in his budget shell game year after year? the budget ponzi scheme that ended up with Wisconsin in a deep financial hole, which Walker got the state out of and then some?)
Now, GWB, stay on topic. Don't try to hijack my blog. It won't work.

Just to share some knowledge, here are the 23...
1. Issue a presidential memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.
2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.
3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.
4. Direct the attorney general to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.
Carl Hicks - Jan 17, 2013 2:28 PM
6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.
7. Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.
8. Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission).
9. Issue a presidential memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.
10. Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement.
11. Nominate an ATF director.
12. Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.
13. Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime.
14. Issue a presidential memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.
Carl Hicks - Jan 17, 2013 2:31 PM
16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.
17. Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities.
18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.
19. Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship, and institutions of higher education.
20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental-health services that Medicaid plans must cover.
21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.
23. Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health.

That followed by namecalling. Nice retort.
The fact is that wilth all the pantswetting, protests, White House attention, Death threats, Doctor fraud, teachers lying, the failed Recall effort, etc... WI State employees fare better than OBama's is a valid point. The hypocrisy of the Left that throws rocks at Walker and praises Obama is more glaring now than ever. The mere prospect of a user fee for Auto Registration has georgeduyba calling out Walker for "raising taxes" when Obama put a HHS mandate that taxes EVERY citizen in the US just for being alive.
Keep it up, as your inane points grow weaker and more conflicting, you turn up the personal attacks and sound more underinformed than ever.

Cost of Obama's plan to do his job = $500million. With a bonus of another $4 Billion earmarked to his support base. Neither addresses anything to do with the SandyHook tragedy he exploited.
The ineptitude is unprecedented.

“Sorry, Mr. Hicks, but I make it a point never to go to the radical leftie Mother Jones site...”
I agree why take the chance, after all you need to maintain your conservative bias...you certainly wouldn’t want you to read or find something that could change your opinion of liberalism in general or maybe even learn something negative about conservatism or the republicans.
Just stick with conservative sites, TV, and talk radio since they tell you what you want to hear.
No need to hear what the other side has to say. Why would you even want too...
ExToDResident - Jan 17, 2013 6:27 PM
That’s the problem, everyone is waiting for someone else to act.

Run a mental competency and fitness test for any individual requesting to purchase an assault weapon.

majority of Americans rejected how stupid comparing a presidents kids to average
Americans is, the backlash of stupidity from repubs supporting the NRA ads exploiting the
presidents kids while criticizing him for haveing kids at his speech is just the sweetest
"shot in foot" ever... Its amazing how in shambles the Republican Party is.

Obama's power grab and disdain for the 2nd Amendment is meeting some opposition. There are rallies planned in 47 states at their capitols in support of the 2nd Amendment this coming Saturday. In addition, several states are already are preparing bills that would block the president’s agenda - saying they will not abide by any executive orders or unconstitutional rules. Such states include: Alaska, Missouri, Wyoming, Montana, Texas, Tennessee, South Dakota, and South Carolina.
WFB resident - Jan 18, 2013 9:40 AM
out that the o (the one who does not want people to protect kids) allows his kids to
be protected by guns , yet my kids he does not care about ! So the question is : How
do you point this out with out pointing out his kids ? Does the first amendment mean
anything to PDLS's ?? lol...

He "totally agrees" that "guns don't kill people, people kill people" and that the president "should try to do something".
I agree with the "do something part". Unfortunately all Obama knows is how to write checks. When your car (the economy) has gone off a cliff - he SHOULD be hitting the brake, not stomping on the gas.
The net result of Obama's "do something" was to leverage 20 children's murders to grease his urban constituents by redistributing $4Billion. He was taught well by Emmanuel and did not let this tragedy go to waste. Politics at their worst - still no leadership as his own party (Harry Reid and Al Franken no less) are already curling up in fear over taking a stand. No leadership = spineless support.
