NRA calls the shots...
Americans should applaud the NRA for:
1) Having the backbone to stand up to the Dear Leader (unlike many Republican and Conservative politicians)
2) Pointing out the glaring hypocrisy of the left. The "do as we say not as we do" crowd."
3) Pointing out that children DO deserve to be safe in schools.
4) All of the 23 (yes, you read that correctly) Executive Orders that Obama issued today in regards to gun control (oops, forgot the new moniker is now "gun violence") not one of them would have done ANYTHING to prevent Sandy Hook, Virginia Tech, or other mass shootings. Plain and simple. All Obama is doing is targeting law-abiding citizens and their right to bear arms. (And Rush Limbaugh made an excellent point on his conservative talk radio show earlier - Obama wants more and more in-depth background checks and information on Americans - mainly on people who wish to buy and/or sell guns and/or visit a health care provider as to their mental state). When will we Americans get a background check on President Obama? Obama has YET to be properly vetted. What's up with that?)
5) The elitism of Obama and Co. is on full display (and the NRA commercial sure is "on target."). For some reason, Obama and his fellow socialists seem to believe they know best and the government can solve all of societies problems. Here's a news flash: Obama and Co. have no clue what is best for the American individual, and the government cannot solve every problem that pops up. (In fact, I'd venture to argue that the Obama government of today is the leader in creating problems (Obamacare anyone?).
6) Not caring if Obama and other lefties criticize and attack them for this commercial. (Already the liberal media is in a tizzy over this ad...)
Thank you, NRA - for having the guts to do what too many of our elected officials of today are afraid of. We need more people to stand up and speak out for America - and not let Obama destroy our country before our very eyes.

"I think it's awful to bring public figures' children into the political debate," Christie said at a press conference in Trenton, New Jersey
YET: Obama signs his executive orders surrounded by children that don't get the same protection his do.
In 2008 when talking about abortion Obama Said" I don't want my daughters punished with a baby"
2009 Obama's HeatlhCare infomercial he responded to a question about whether he would see "off plan" extraordinary care for his family if Obamacare did not cover their condition :"“If it is my family member, if its my wife, if its my children, if its my grandmother, I always want them to get the very best care”"
The whole do as I say not as I do attitude is all the NRA is pointing out. There should not be an "Obama Class" and n everyone else class when it comes to protection one's family. BUT he grants exemptions to healthcare mandates o his cronies while mandating us, he sends his kids to private school while denying vouchers to the poor and stiking them in failed programs like Head Start, He wants armed protection for his family and not yours and will use his money to get health are for his family that we can't afford.
He exploits his family at every convenience for him but don't ever point out that Michele has a big caboose or his kids get protection he is denying others.
The NRA is calling him out for his hypocrisy and it's plain as day for those that are not in his cult.

What are they going to protest about? What "power grab",disdain,or unconstitutional rules? What are these nutjobs on?
i bet they are like you Amy, they scream about a power grab but refuse to read what the executive orders actually are and use their imagination to fill in the unknown.

If he runs as an independant he has my vote! That was refreshing to see a politician call a member of his own party to task.
Mucho - Jan 18, 2013 2:24 PM
What member of his own party did Christie criticize?
The Democrats took almost $2mm from the NRA last year.

Seriously?
When you are falling at 32 ft/second/second/ how is stomping on the brakes going to help if you have nothing for traction that will slow you down?
You flunked physics, didn't you.

I am sure he has his eye on the presidency, but there will be no way he gets the Republican nomination. I think Christie should run as a Democrat. At least he may be more of a "moderate" Dem than the current crop of socialists occupying Washington D.C. right now...
By the way, Christie, in further attempts to endear himself to lefties, blasted the Republicans for holding up the Sandy "relief" bill. Why? They were correct in holding up the pork-laden bill. Too bad the media didn't see fit to report on all the pork and earmarks that had absolutely NOTHING to do with "Sandy Relief" such as $10 million for FBI salaries, $2 billion for road construction across the country, as well as funding for the Head Start program, roof repairs at the Smithsonian, and $150 million for fisheries. Throw in $16 BILLION (yes, BILLION) dollars for a "Community Development Block Grant" with no accountability - it's basically a "slush" fund for states...Egads.
The Republicans did the right thing in holding up the bill and trying to get all the pork and earmarks out. Too bad they were not successful, and the wasteful spend, spend, spend cycle continues with Obama and the lefties throwing OUR money away with reckless abandon.
Mucho - Jan 18, 2013 2:48 PM
WOW! You have really outdone yourself jman.
First of all the "car off the cliff" analogy was to demonstrate the futility of expecting gun control legislation to eliminate evil people. i.e. Stepping on the brakes is as effective at stopping the car as gun control is at preventing hostility.
Secondly - Objects don't fall at 32ft/sec/sec the accelerate at 32ft/s*s.
People that don't know the difference between Velocity and Acceleration fail physics. People that can't wrap their brains around figurative analogies lose intellectual arguments.

Anytime A republican comes to his senses and works across the isle this is what they get. The fool call them the fool... Perfect example of whats wrong with politics "REPUBLICANS"
Carl Hicks - Jan 18, 2013 2:49 PM
I think it says alot about a politician who is willing to fall on the sword like that for his constituants instead of the usual behavior of blaming the other party for everything.

It started with $150mm for fisheries as far away as Alaska and included over $5Billion (more than their annual budget total) in Army core of engineers with no direction on how it was to be spent. About $50Billion of the money was open-ended earmarks with little to no direction or controls over how it was to be spent.
Christie wasn't reaching across the aisle, he was reaching into the pork barrels and robbing US taxpayers. Nice try, but that is the problem with Washington.

You are welcome.

Sleazy, wasteful, unnecessary pork buy-out. In the end the GOP got into the mud with the Dems for some payola for their home districts.
