What is REALLY important?
Embarrassing.
If Republicans behaved the way Barack and Michelle Obama and Joe Biden act, the media would be ripping them to shreds. However, since it IS Obama who is president, the arrogant, casual attitudes towards the highest office in the nation are AOK!
First off, from the "Encore" section of the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel (1/18/13):
"President Barack Obama is preparing for all the musicians set to perform at his inauguration festivities by releasing an official playlist. He released the 16-track playlist, which also includes music by some of his favorite artists, through the digital music service Spotify on Thursday. The list includes jams by Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, Usher, and fun. They all will perform at different inaugural events, which start Saturday in Washington. Obama's list also includes John Legend's "Ordinary People, " "Firework," by Katy Perry, James Taylor's "Your Smiling Face," and the "Glee" take on Lady Gaga's "The Edge of Glory."
Wow. I bet many American's were breathlessly awaiting the "playlist" from The One. Especially those millions who have been unemployed for years or have just lost their jobs due to Obamacare coming down the pike. Doesn't Obama have anything presidential to do? Like address the dire fiscal straits America is facing? How about curbing reckless spending? Or - how about producing an actual BUDGET for the first time since becoming president four years ago??? Nah. That would be too much like real work... Now we can breathlessly await Obama's NCAA picks...
Another blurb from the 1/20/13 Journal/Sentinel:
"...on Friday she (Michelle Obama) continued her Twitter banter with Ellen DeGeneres over who can do more push-ups..."
Are these people for real? Do we have a pair of narcissistic me-me-me folks in the White House, who just love the perks of being Mr. and Mrs. Prez - spending to their hearts desire - seeing the world on the taxpayer dime - throwing lavish parties while more and more Americans are relying on food stamps - and schmoozing with the Hollywood elites and rock stars? (Are the Kardashian's invited to the inauguration? They should be.) By all accounts, the most vapid, wealthiest, and shallow of the shallow are rubbing elbows in the White House and at the upcoming coronation, with the Obama's leading the pack.
Not to be outdone, Vice President Joe Biden stated during his recent swearing-in as VP for the second term:
“I’m proud to be president of the United States.”
Hmmmm. Yet another flub by Joe "we be gaffes" Biden? or a possible leaking of future plans to run for President (a frightening thought) should Barack Obama not alter the Constitution to give himself another four years after 2016. The media would have had a field day with this quote if Dick Cheney had uttered such a thing. With Joe Biden, it's just "Biden being Biden." A VP clown.
Then we get this from the AP. A photo of the presidential limo. Below the picture comes the blurb:
"President Barack Obama's ride has a new license plate."
Ride??? Oh my goodness. If Obama wasn't the president, do you think any reporter worth their integrity would have called the presidential limousine a "ride?" How low we as a nation have sunk. How un-presidential.
Let's not forget that Michelle Obama HAS A NEW HAIRDO!!! Oh my gosh! Stop the presses!
Low information voters are alive and well - and being fed garbage disguised as news from the while the country tanks.
Fist-bumps all around.

highest expense cost per year in his terms and took more vacations than any president in
American history. Your petty little swipes at Obama LOL.... You wanna be upset go look
at the travel expense your do nothing republican leadership ran up while in office the last
three years while spending more time naming public buildings than passing policy to help
Americans get jobs. There is the real crime
ahemmer - Jan 20, 2013 1:36 PM
In addition, while President Bush may have taken the most vacation days during his terms, they were usually spent at his ranch in Crawford, Texas. Obama has spent the most taxpayer dollars during his years in office for vacation costs. (See: http://www.whitehousedossier.com/2013/01/04/taxpayer-bill-obamas-hawaii-vacations-20-million/ for one small sampling on the extravagance of the Obamas...also wonder if Obama ever took trips to Hawaii while a Senator or Community Organizer. If he didn't, wouldn't that mean he is really taking advantage of returning to his "home" several times over - in separate "him" and "her" Airforce One trips - cuz the taxpayers are now picking up the tab for him and the Missus?)

vacation days were used up but not counted by the wing nut media that reports such
drivel !

"The biggest group of donors were none other than the recently bailed-out Wall Street executives and employees"
I'd say you called that right...

Obama - who originally campaigned before his first term - stated he'd have a "transparent" government and wouldn't be beholden to special interest groups - or their money.
Now, 4-plus years later - guess who gets the best seats at the upcoming coronation of the king??? Those who gave the most to his campaign. Those willing to pay the most to be seated up close to witness The One getting his second chance at destroying America. Wow. I'd say Obama's words sure rate a "pants on fire" by that leftie watchdog joke - Politicrap.
And jman - if I were to get an invite to the Obama coronation, I'd turn it down. No question. Obama should never have been elected prez in the first place, nor the second place. Cheating and fooling people sure has worked for The One. Despicable.

hear how good she looks while looking quite horrible . Yet her hair is finally decent
looking and here clothes do not look like drapes anymore ! Now only if they were to
start thinking and start leading this country for the better ! But I doubt that since the

Remember way back when Mizz Michelle wore $500 tennies to a Food Pantry? Not a peep from the lamestream media about the possibility this was a wee bit insensitive...
And has Barry stopped his golf game? out of respect for the troops? Nah. Guess the war in Afghanistan has been pushed waaaay on the back burner. Nothing to see anymore. Where did that little darling of the left go - Cindy Sheehan? to protest? camp out in front of the Obama's home? Guess she only wanted to protest when the prez was a Republican...
And if anyone has a moment, take a glance at the fawning puff piece in People Magazine not long ago. An interview with the Obama's. Barack Obama saying although he is cool, his daughters are "cooler" than he is... A president who talks like this? Egads. And Barack Obama touting his "two grammy's" now that Michelle Obama was nominated for a grammy, too. Hey, maybe like her hubby she'll get a Nobel Peace Prize for doing....nothing!!!
That's exactly what this couple is all about - themselves - and living the high life, while destroying the country in the process. As long as the Obama's are in the limelight and reaping the benefits of being in the White House, all is good. We loyal subjects better just sit back and admire these two - the press will do their part to glorify them - no questions asked.

It IS, however, world class "pearl clutching".

You and I disagree about whether the daily lives and actions of the President and the First Family is news or not. I think it is. They are, like it or not, amongst the most elite group of American historical figures and current world celebrities. With that comes the fact that there is interest in what Michele's hair cut is, "who" she is wearing and where she, her husband and her kids go each day and what kind of ride they have. If you recall, during the 15 second "honeymoon" that Sarah Palin had with the media, her hair style, fashion and eyeglasses were all the rage (then they sliced and diced her).
By you blogging about your disdain for this royalty treatment of Obama you make a minor point about the obnoxious media love affair with Obama but also elevate their biased fawning to a level of importance it does not deserve.
Did the Congress vote to raise the Sugar Daddy's credit card limit yet so he can keep "making it rain" on his supporters yet?

hatred for the president and his family and instead begin to focus on ways to bring
the right and left together to accomplish something this term. I get it, you hate our
president, but are you really going to waste the next 4 years ranting about the guy?
Give us all a break. It makes you look very childish.
MGarber - Jan 21, 2013 1:13 PM
Ohhhhhhh..... THATS whats she's been saying??
"....but are you really going to waste the next 4 years ranting about the guy?"
Dont do it, Amy. Life is too short.
ExToDResident - Jan 21, 2013 1:50 PM
She did for the last four years, what is another four. Besides you don’t think it just started with the election of Obama do you. The behavior is too well ingrained to have started with the election of the current democrat in the White House.
“It makes you look very childish.”
She doesn’t think so. You and I might consider her petty bickering about the Obama’s childish. But to her it is “what is really important”.
It is obvious that she has been bent on this same tirade for some time against the left, and now that she has a person and persons to focus on she is on a roll. And you want her to stop now?

In August 2009, Sheehan protested at Martha's Vineyard during President Barack Obama's stay there.
On October 5, 2009, Sheehan was arrested with 60 others at the White House protesting President Obama's continuation of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
On March 20, 2010, Sheehan was again arrested in front of the White House
In the summer of 2012, television personality Roseanne Barr named Sheehan as her running mate for the presidential nomination of the Peace and Freedom Party in the 2012 presidential election. Barr and Sheehan were nominated by that party as its presidential ticket on August 4, 2012
There you go since you couldn't take a moment to look that up on your own.

It must have really pained him to utter the words: ":--"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
- especially when he considers the Constitution one of those little pesky annoying things gettting in the way of his socialist agenda.
What is really frightening are Obama's words from today:
"Our journey is not complete..." Frightening. How much worse can he make things? We're doomed to find out in the next four years...
patriot4progress - Jan 21, 2013 2:14 PM
nut job site reported the Obamas trip to India would cost 200 million a day LOL... Your so
upset that Americans not only voted Obama in but cast more votes for democrats than
republicans you will say anything.... You're just a sore loser... Obama is the most popular
person in politics while you're parties values and narrow vision has rendered your party
dead in the water. There isn't one leader in your party Americans trust. Tearing down and
constructing lies and half truths in a day when every American can access the real story is
foolish... If your party ever wants to have respect again try finding ideas Americans will
support and present them as a working compromise not our way or the highway.... You
nut jobs are proven wrong so many times you spend more time lying to each other putting
down the people who come up with ideas than getting some of your own
Carl Hicks - Jan 21, 2013 2:23 PM
That's because she was nice to look at until she opened her mouth to speak.
ahemmer - Jan 21, 2013 2:32 PM
By the way, Obama got less votes this time around than in 2008 - about 3.6 million less.
However, I still find it very disturbing how Obama won 100% of many precincts in Ohio and Pennsylvania (similar to what happens at election time in Cuba for the Castros and Venezuela for Hugo Chavez), and voter turnout in many areas of Colorado were larger than the population of voters in the districts. Massive cheating? You bet. And of course, no questions being asked by the mainstream media - nothing to see, move along!
The "same day registration" and early voting allowances just sets the stage for more and more voter fraud. Which is basically why the Dems are so against Voter ID - having Voter ID in place would help ensure honest elections. That would really put a damper on the "get out and vote (vote, vote, vote) liberal organizations activities. But heck, when busloads of out-of-towners can drive up to any polling place, create chaos, and get chances to vote - and vote - and vote... I'd say the cheat factor was in play in many ways for The One.
ExToDResident - Jan 21, 2013 2:33 PM
Did he ever say he would?
Mucho - Jan 21, 2013 3:29 PM
Unlike the militant left national media, you are an idealist. The others in your camp have declared war on sensible conservatism:
http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2013/01/barack_obama_s_second_inaugural_address_the_president_should_declare_war.single.html
If you saw Obama's address today, he followed his marching orders like the obedient figurehead he is.
