What a difference four years can make...
Just a few quick facts as we embark on another four years of President Obama (and if you think things will be getting better any time soon, you probably think the slaughter of four Americans in Benghazi was about a YouTube video...ah, but what difference at this point does it make???).
1st Inauguration (1/20/09) 2nd Inauguration (1/20/13)

The national average price of retail gasoline posted its biggest one-day increase in 23 months on Friday, rising four cents to $3.46 a gallon, according to AAA. The average price has risen 13 cents -- a 4 percent increase -- in the past week."
Surprised Obama hasn't blamed Henry Ford because he invented the automobile.

14k (a record high) and the increasing in the housing market.

Why start now? The "gas price thing" has been discussed ad nauseum. When Sarah said "Drill baby drill", Obama didnt say "Yeee haw". Thats their realistic assertion".
And its exactly those kinds of realistic assertions that killed the right.
WFB resident - Feb 02, 2013 9:39 AM
Blaming Obama for gas pries? Do tell how he influenced fuel prices. And be realistic
in your assertions please."
The same way you blamed/blame Bush ! lol...

How does a President influence prices? Just a few Facts:
When taking office he rescinded the executive order of President Bush allowing for more drilling and leases.
Stopped the Keystone pipeline.
Shut down drilling in the Gulf
From day one Obama has decleared war on "Big Oil". Pelosi and other Democrats used that phrase negatively hundreds if not thousands of times.
Bush as President was constantly blamed for being in "the pocket" of "Big Oil" influencing the price at the pump.
Obamas EPA unleases regulatory regulations for domestic resources on exploration and extraction (IE: Fracking) that increases costs for "Big Oil" which are passed on to the consumers.
Oil Companies and OPEC share in the blame. As they want to make as much profit as they can before Obamas "Green, Solar, and Biofuels" take effect if ever. So, Obama and his Administration DO effect our gas prices.
P4P...Obama should share in the stock market and housing markets gains. Remember your words if we go back into a recession and we again have an enormous downturn. It will not be Bushes fault, it will be the President of the last 4 years.

at camp david ! Lets see if there are other times ?lol...
Carl Hicks - Feb 02, 2013 11:50 AM
I suppose that is why domestic oil production is at it's highest since the 70s?
"Stopped the Keystone pipeline."
I know you would have prefered Obama to tell the Nebraske governor to shut up and take it , but he did have concerns ya know...but I suppose it wasn't going through your state so would you care any...
"Shut down drilling in the Gulf "
That was a moratorium on NEW exploration, existing wells were not affected.
"From day one Obama has decleared war on "Big Oil"."
"decleared"?
"Bush as President was constantly blamed for being in "the pocket" of "Big Oil" influencing the price at the pump."
Well yeah dimwits always have tried to blame presidents for energy prices. Are you saying that because others have made this incorrect claim in the past against one of your guys that you can use it against them?
"Obamas EPA unleases regulatory regulations for domestic resources on exploration and extraction (IE: Fracking)"
I do wonder what the mystery chemical mix is that they pump into the ground when fracking....
"As they want to make as much profit as they can before Obamas "Green, Solar, and Biofuels" take effect if ever."
So they are worried about something that may never have much impact on them? You do realise that "big oil" is heavily invested in alternative energies don't you?
C'mon now I said be realistic here...no one wants to rehash old propaganda...

Found the article that you copied and pasted from. You put the quote from the article in quotation marks but forgot the link;
http://americanview.hubpages.com/hub/A-President-Can-Influence-Gas-Prices
Obviously a right-wing news source, seeing how they back track for Bush;
“During President Bush’s term, gas went up and down. There was several issue that drove prices up. Numerous natural disasters in the gulf, Florida coastline, wars in the Middle East. But overall it was stable, until 2007.”
How ludicrous, gas prices went up and down but were stable???
And Steven Chu made the statement in 2008 before he was energy secretary, and before the Obama administration was not yet in existence.

Two quick hits from the Urinal/Sentinel about the Obama economy, Obamacare:
1) "Study on dropping insurance sidetracked" - move could save millions, county supervisor says. (2/1/13)
Seems Milwaukee County Supervisors (the majority of whom without a doubt voted for Obama) want nothing to do with "health care exchanges" - meaning the county supervisors drop their very expensive, lucrative health care insurance (that taxpayers pay for) and go on Obamacare. The county could save up to $103.5 million in the process. Ironic, isn't it?
2) "American economy shrinks .01% - spending cuts among factors" (1/31/13).
So the economy "unexpectedly" shrank October through December! And guess what - this is reported with a positive spin!!! I know - LOL! From a leftie eonomist the AP found: "Frankly, this is the best-looking contraction in U.S. GDP you'll ever see!"
Say WHAT??? Just imagine if this had happened while Bush was president. Think a positive spin like this garbage would be reported? NO WAY. Bush would have been ripped to shreds by the media. Yet, since this IS Obama's economy - even bad news is now "good news!" Why, the GDP SHRANK!!!! Let's have a parade!
And the low-information voters, mouths hanging open, nod their heads in agreement...

Why is it “funny” to you that a person should chose to not own a “car”??
Oh wait I get it, it goes back to the adolescent, “he’s funny because he’s a nerd” taunts.
Funny how some people never grow up.
“Unlike his predecessors, who included former politicians and businessmen, Chu was a self proclaimed nerd and energy efficiency fanatic who does not own a car, cycles to work and walks many flights of stairs to his office.”

ahemmer - Feb 02, 2013 2:58 PM
Sigh...
Steven Chu is anti-auto and pro-mass transit (mass transit like high-speed rail and busses that drains taxpayers) and pro-"green" companies - (you know, the ones that lose money left and right and go bankrupt after getting millions from taxpayers via Obama.)
Chu exposed himself for what he is with his wish for $5 gallon gas - to which Obama has been enthusiastic about too. Obama told people to "get used to it" in regards to high gas prices. Remember when he chided an SUV owner for complaining about gas prices, by scolding him for only getting 8 miles per gallon (which isn't true to begin with)? Think anything changed after Chu became Energy Secretary? No. Obama probably wanted him because he knew of the very anti-logical anti-sensible energy views of Chu.
ahemmer - Feb 02, 2013 3:12 PM
However, right now Barry & Co. are going after guns, trying to get more illegals legal so they can vote for Dems, and I'm sure Obama wants to target the NFL to come under the scrutiny of OSHA (why else would he say if he "had a son (who would have looked like Travon Martin - remember that one?) he wouldn't allow him to play football." WHY in the world does the President of the United States feel a weigh in on the NFL? Cuz more rules and regulations are a comin' - aimed at the NFL. Big government gettin' bigger and bigger - goverment hands in every aspect of our lives! Just wait.
And what president feels a need to be interviewed right before the Super Bowl? Can't Obama just stop the celebrity tours and maybe, just maybe keep his thoughts to himself for just a day or two? Oh, but the media probably insisted upon getting The Views on The Game from The One. They love the guy. (Did they ever interview Bush prior to the Super Bowl? I wonder....) Ah, social justice and social commentary and all the other gobble-de-gook coming out of Washington D.C. these days is enough to make people's heads explode.

Amy are you simply agreeing with wfb because he is on your team?
Where do you get information telling you that drilling is up on federal lands and down on private lands, the Bizzarro world? You do know you have that backwards, I hope.
