Isn't it ironic that:

1) Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Raven's Ray Lewis - suspect in a murder trial in 2000 - and father of six children with four different women - declares himself to be a "Christian? thanks the Lord for the opportunity to play in the Super Bowl victory.? Yet, was Lewis ever put under the scrutiny that Tim Tebow - also a Christian, (lacking the notorious background of Lewis) suffered at the hands of the media and the usual anti-religious crowd? Was Lewis made fun of the way Tebow was? No. Why not? Could there be a racist element at play here?

2) Obama and his Administration, famous for going after "waterboarding" as some sort of horrific torture device which needed to be done away with to protect the "rights" of terrorists, now want to institute a plan in which Americans who may or may not be terrorists can be killed by drones. OK. I get it. It's NOT OK to use "enhanced interrogation techniques" against known terrorists, but it IS OK just to kill people - including Americans - who may or may not be terrorists?

3) No one can criticize First Queen Michelle Obama's large derrière, but it is OK for Ms. Obama to dictate to school cafeterias across the country what they can and cannot serve to students in order for the students to "be healthy."

4) So Beyonce (BFF of Obama) has to lip-synch the national anthem at her buddies recent coronation, yet she can belt out her own tunes at the Super Bowl halftime show??? What's up with that? Oh, I do suppose that like Obama, she probably could have cared less about The Star-Spangled Banner and what it means, when her own hits are much more important to the uninformed masses...

5) The Obama administration that is so busy right now clamping down on the 2nd Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens had no problem giving guns to members of Mexican drug cartels with reckless abandon. The guns passed along to criminals during Obama's "Fast and Furious" operation have been used to kill innocent people who got in the way of the Mexican drug wars AND an American ATF agent. Strange how little is reported anymore about the "Fast and Furious" operation, yet we heard on a daily basis how the rights of the law-abiding American citizens must be curtailed when it comes to guns...

6) The Democrats are famous for trying to legislate and create laws pertaining to every little aspect of people's daily lives, yet when it comes to enforcing such laws and punishing criminals in the process, what happens? Well, Dems are pretty soft on crime to begin with, and do tend to side with the criminals in many cases rather than the victims. So what good are all the laws on this and that anyhow if they are not enforced?

And last but not least - isn't it ironic:

How "affordable" health care for all (aka: Obamacare) is going to be so darn unaffordable?!?!?!

BTW Mucho the bipartisan commission found the information was not faulty from the CIA and other sources it was Bush and Cheney reporting it as confirmed when it was never reported that way to them.... Bush also went on to say he never tried to link 9/11 to Iraq and clearly as you just confirmed thats what he did in 2003.

P4P: SIGH!!! Enough with the George W. Bush. Besides, Bush did NOT say the 9/11 terrorists were aided and/or linked to Iraq. Bush mentioned al-Queda, Hussein, and terrorists in general. He never specifically said that that 9/11 terrorists - the actual terrorists responsible for 9/11 - were aided and/or helped by Hussein or Iraq.
Enough already. You are wrong. You owe me an apology. I will not expect one. However, any future comments from you on the subject - which has NOTHING to do with my blog topic - will be seen as an attempt to hijack my blog - and will be deleted. p4p - Bush did not lie in his 2003 State of the Union Speech and you have yet to demomstrate how he did. If he ever said that Sadaam and Bin Laden collaborated on the 9/11 attack after the July 2003 report he commissioned and I posted, then he certainly did lie (presuming he read it).

The report did demonstrate the disconnects between intelligence agencies in the US and abroad. It also specifically called out the long-standing use and sponsoprship of terrorism by Iraq in the years leading up to 9/11 and the well known terrorist training camps in Iraq that many AlQaeda members received training in.

Newsflash: It turns out that Lincoln really did not care that much about freeing the slaves and JFK cheated on Jackie. I.E: Please turn your calendar ahead 10 years and try to be relevant to a current topic.

Thank you, Mucho. I forgot to point out how P4P reached the conclusion that "Bush lied" as well as yours truly from your earlier comment. I read it a few times, but just didn't interpret it the way P4P did (incorrectly).

Now, enough about GWB, terrorists, Hussein, Iraq...This blog post is NOT about Bush not lying about Iraq and the 9/11 terrorists, and how P4P is sadly wrong and refuses to apologize.

Please keep comments on the blog topic - or even close!!! That would be greatly appreciated and would be in keeping with the Discussion Guidelines!

Mucho: I agree. Sensenbrenner was correct in "assessing" (LOL) Queen Michelles' behind. I know that hurts the lefties who think she's so hip and cool and trendy and think its neat that she has bigger arms than her hubby...(and at least Michelle doesn't wear "mom jeans" like her husband! LOL)...but she does have a big rear end. No if's, and, or - you guessed it - buts!!!! :)

And it is ironic how Queen Michelle loves dictating to the masses what students in public schools can and cannot eat. All the while she and Barry O dine on Wagyu beef ($100 a pound - yes, you read that right!) and toast with Cristal champagne ($400 a bottle) while hangin' with JayZee and Beyonce. Fist bumps all around! Yeah! The King and Queen livin' the high life while pretending to be "really, really concerned" about the "middle class." Then Queen Michelle tells schools to give students smaller portions of meats and lots of vegetables they don't like or want, and nix the good stuff like potato chips. No wonder many students in lunch rooms revolted and brown bagged it.

It's akin to, as you referenced earlier, Barry "the smoker" Obama - with his nasty cigarette habit - forcing the "little people" who smoke to pay more - a lot more - for their health care premiums (another little added cost in Obamacare that many didn't see comin')...

With regard to (numbering corresponds to Amy's points above):

1) Are you complaining that there hasn't been scrutiny of Lewis' alleged involvement in murder or that there hasn't been scrutiny of his faith? There has been scrutiny on the murder side, although not enough. Regarding his faith, Tebow makes a big show of his faith. To my knowledge, Lewis isn't.

2) Yup, that's fair. There needs to be some sort of oversight at a minimum, although I saw a very good point the other day that we don't wring our hands about the federal government killing American citizens during the Civil War. Killing enemy combatants is going to happen. The question is how to do so while minimizing harm to bystanders and our own troops. Also, who decides and what constitutes an imminent threat.

4) If she screws up her own song, she screwed up her own song. If she screws up the National Anthem, she ruined the inauguration and hates America.

5) The report about Fast and Furious reads like it was a botched operation at the field office level, without broader approval. And until you start arguing that the 2nd Amendment gives you the right to purchase a nuclear weapon (that's an armament), we're in agreement that it's not an unlimited right. Now it's a question of where to draw the line.

Peter123: Actually, Lewis was said to have had more of a role in the murders that occurred in 2000. He managed to skate away with just an "obstruction" charge. Could that be because he was a football player? (ala O.J. - by the way, is O.J. still "looking for the real killers" of Nicoe Simpson and her friend?)... The irony I was pointing out is that here is a man with lots of skeletons in his closet, declaring himself a Christian to anyone who will listen. No one pokes fun, ridicules, or berates him for doing so. Yet, Tim Tebow - a devout Christian lacking the skeletons in the closet, is fodder for the lefties/anti-religious crowd. Why is that? Isn't that ironic? A potential accessory to murder/dirty player who professes his faith is granted immunity from persecution for his religious beliefs, yet an all-around good guy like Tim Tebow who professes his faith is eaten alive by the media/lefties/anti-religious crowd. As in the world of Obama and the left, what is good is bad and what is bad is good.

Regarding comment about the Civil War, my point is this: if there are Americans working together in a foreign land, where there's legal authorization to fight, the government has as much cause and justification to kill them as others. The question is how to classify those fighting to destroy the US, not whether they're Americans.

Tebow's faith shouldn't be discussed as much as it is. And if he did all these great things and only brought up his faith when asked (a question like: What drives you? "My faith."), Tebow would be lionized. He keeps bringing it up. He makes a big show about thanking God when he does well. That's why it's discussed. It's the showboating, not the faith. Maybe that's not expressed, and maybe some are ridiculing him because of his faith, but the reason it gets traction is the show.

With Lewis, he's trying to change the subject. Enough said.

WFB, they're declared enemies of the state, and under the "war on terror" banner, they're enemy combatants. Is it a legitimate area of engagement? Are they actually engaged in terrorism against the US? These are questions I don't think the President has answered, and I'm not comfortable with the executive branch making these decisions without any oversight. But it's no more illegal or wrong for the US government to attack Americans when they may or may not be enemy combatants than Yemenis, Saudis, or Frenchmen.

1) Tebow got ripped on some for his victory dance but Lewis is dispised and considered to have gotten away with murder by many so the two aren't the same.

2) This should frighten people. I was against waterboarding because I believe there are certain rules of war that civilized societies adhere to ( even if the enemy does not ). But to bypass a citizens right a trial is unconstitutional. I guess though since you had no quarrels with the overstepping of rights with the latest NDAA and patriot act it isn't until the government can kill, that you fear potential abuse of powers granted...

Really? Fast and Furious - a program which IS the responsibility of the Obama Administration - got guns into the hands of hundreds of Mexican drug cartel members. Subsequently, many innocent Mexican families were murdered by people using said guns. And do not forget an American ATF agent was killed with one of the guns given to the Mexicans from the U.S. government. And that's "not worth commenting on" when we now see Obama & Co. going after the gun rights of LAW-ABIDING citizens in our own country? Do you see any irony in that, Carl, or is it just AOK? nothin' to see - move along!

#6: The Dems love to legislate every aspect of our lives - but then not enforce the very laws they cry out for. Look at all the gun laws on the books. Yet, very few are ever addressed and/or enforced and/or used to punish criminals once they are caught by the police for wrong-doing. The "gun laws" are the first to be tossed out - as not worth even pursuing.

Hallucinatory rants? No Carl, but some of your comments may be considered "hallucinatory" considering how lacking in thought they are...

Careful with the racial overtones..... I am sure if Sensenbrenner told American children to go on a diet, you would applaud Michele for calling his pot belly out.

The irony with Michelle's policy is that she ASSumes that everyone is in her weight clASS and hASS the same battle of the bulge as her. Her policies have reduced the calorie intake of my 5'4" 90lb, size zero daughter while also matching her lunch size to be the same skimpy portion as the school's 260 lb 6'4 offensive tackle.

The point I am trying to make is that Michelle ("let them eat cake - NOT!!!") Obama should not be dictating to public school children what they CAN and CANNOT eat, when the same standards obviously do not apply to her.

I do find all the points ironic, but not quite in the way that Hemmer suggests.
The insults criticizing the president and the first lady would have been met with a vigorous defense if such insults would have been leveled at a republican president and first lady. I seem to remember a cry from the right when Bush was president that an American citizen should show respect for the president regardless of party.
Apparently because they are “liberal Democrats” they don’t deserve the same consideration now that the positions are reversed.

Mostly in that if Bush had started the drone strikes it they would have been perfectly fine with the drone strikes on suspected terrorists, even US citizens suspected of terrorism.

Hemmer & Co have shown themselves to be completely comfortable with surrendering liberties for security. Just take a look at the Patriot Act...

Actually I found number 6 to be most ironic of them all since it is the Republicans with the full consent of conservatives like Hemmer & Co that have been waging war on Americans civil liberties.

I find number 6 to be completely ironic since Republicans and conservatives are the group that “legislate and create laws pertaining to every little aspect of people's daily lives” in favor of the corporation.

ExTODresident: I don't remember any "cry from the right" about respecting Bush when he was president cuz "citizens should respect the office." See, Ex, most of us "righties" know that such comments wouldn't have made a bit of difference from those suffering from Bush Derangement Syndrome.

And I will continue to go after Obama and Queen Michelle - simply because what they are doing is destroying this country. The nation, our values, the Constitution, and our personal freedoms are all under assault from this socialist minions and his followers.
I do not respect, nor will I respect anyone who is intentionally trying to re-build America into a socialist nation - period.
Obama doesn't deserve to be president. I don't think our founding fathers wanted a nation of people reliant upon big government, all equally miserable while a few at the top enjoy the perks of ruling over the masses. And the Dems love to target any businesses that may be making (insert "shudder" here) a profit (I know - a dirty word in liberal land). IN SPITE of all the rules, laws, etc. aimed at private businesses across the country, some businesses still are managing to succeed, although it is getting more and more difficult with Obama in charge. He just wants to tax, tax, tax success. And whenever he utters: Let's be "fair" - we know what it means in Obama-speak: "Let's take away from the makers to give to the takers."

Like Scott Walker was a supporter of Act 10, Obama is a supporter of the 17% work cut to letter carriers via his statements since 2011 and the plan he released this week. The two are just being treated differently by the media and the Left. Apparently when Obama cuts Union pay to make ends meet, it's understandable when Walker does it, it's an evil attack.

1) The right to NOT have to buy a product. Health care insurance is no longer a choice. Rather, if one decides they do not want health care insurance, too bad. You will be fined and/or sent to jail.

2) An assault on our religious rights. Obamacare goes after the core values of many people's religious beliefs, by forcing religious institutions to pay for abortion-inducing medicines, birth control, etc. Obama is attacking the religious freedom by mandating such.

3) My rights to honest and open elections. Obama and his Democratic minions routinely cheat during elections. Just look at the past presidential elections in which more people voted in Ohio and Pennsylvania precints than actually reside in such. And in many, Obama received 100% of the vote - unheard of in any real election. We are turning into a banana republic - with Obama and groups like moveon.org and ACORN doing the dirty work. MY vote and many others are being routinely stolen each time an election comes up.

Here comes the easy "debunking:"

1) Consortiumnews? Egads. Did you read the write-up on the editor, Rick Parry, how he focuses on providing hit pieces on Republicans/conservatives and loves to defend lefties (one of the stories he mentions concerns the "impeachment assault" on poor 'ole Bill Clinton...
2) wired.com: hit piece with NO names (when referencing federal judge - no name provide). All that IS mentioned is that a lawsuit going after so-called "abuses" of the Patriot Act was brought on by a "civil liberties group."
And even the writing is poor - opening sentence: "Just one day after a news that an internal audit...." ???? Huh?
3) scienceblogs: I had a few LOL moments with this one. A blog written by Ed Brayton. It's a personal opinion piece. Brayton later posted that he is quitting blogging cuz its just not worth it...

Oh my goodness. Providing ID to prove who you are before you vote is an "infringement?"
Voter ID may be an "infringement" on those who wish to steal your vote, by prohibiting people from cheating, otherwise such an argument (if it can be called that) is simply idiotic.
By the way, ExToDResident: are you upset that people are now having their "civil rights" trampled when they are sick cuz they have to provide an ID to purchase many kinds of cold medicines???

Face it. In today's world, most people who function at any level in society DO have some sort of ID that WILL suffice come elections. And those who do not can GET AN ID FOR FREE for goodness sakes. There is NO "infringement" upon anyone's "rights" when it comes to Voter ID. The only real "civil liberty" abuse at play come elections is voter fraud - honest voting citizens are not ensured of the integrity of their vote once cast, cuz there are those out there who ARE committing voter fraud.

Obama lies about everything, he just tosses statements out there with no fact or proof and the press eats it up - no questions asked.

In this day and age, what we (conservatives/Republicans) are up against may seem insurmountable. When the mainstream media is so beholden to do the bidding of Obama, the low information voter is being dumbed down more than ever before. What's good is bad, what is bad is good, and real "news" is reported with such a leftie slant as to be a joke. The bias has gotten even worse.
I don't know what it will take in days to come for people to wake up out of their "entitlement/bigger government" stupor, but maybe that is what the clueless desire? Sad but it may be true.
If so, the rest of us, who haven't been hypnotized by The One, will need to step it up a notch to wake people up. Marco Rubio and Paul Ryan seem to be leading the way. Keep the faith. Even though the media seems to be saying that Republicans are a dying breed, I do not believe that to be true. I do not believe that most people in the country want to be dependent upon the government. I do not believe that most people really want Obamacare - with its unbelievably costly price tag - to replace the health care industry.
I don't think most wish to see the United States become a socialist nation.
Keep the faith. We can accomplish much before the next election cycle. Even with the "cheat factor" due to a lack of Voter ID requirements in play.

Mohamed KNEW he was dealing with an illegal operation and continued to launder money to the UAE to the tune of over $3million. The ONLY thing the Patriot Act enabled that did not exist before was to disallow ingnorance of the law as an excuse for illegal money laundering operations.

The guy got a meager 18 months in jail for funneling millions of dollars thru an entity he knew was operating illegally. How is punishing a criminal an infringement on anyone's "rights"? Or - are you of the belief that if you do not know what the law is, you should be able to break it?

I figured that would be the best you could come up with.

Why should I bother beating a dead horse?

Besides, I was not here to argue the nuances of the Patriot Act or Voter ID. I made my point that the passage of both is an infringement on civil rights. The arguments as to why each might or might not be necessary are irrelevant. Regardless of how you cut it the bottom line is that it is a sacrifice of civil liberties (no matter how slight it might be) for security.

I made my point and see no need to defend my views any further in Hemmer’s blog. They did not expire as you say. I just don’t see the point in further beating my head against the wall.

I have nothing futher to say.

Go ahead Mucho I'll give you the last word.
