Catching Pigs
CATCHING PIGS
There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class.
One day while the class was in the lab, the professor noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt.
The professor asked the young man what was the matter.
The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back.
He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist regime.
In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question.
He asked: "Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"
The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line.
The young man said that it was no joke.
"You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground.
The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence.
They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come
through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.
Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom.
They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught.
Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity."
The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America .
The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the
free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc., while we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time.
One should always remember two truths:
There is no such thing as a free lunch, and you can never hire someone to provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.
If you see that all of this wonderful government "help" is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America, you might want to send this story on to your friends.
If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life, then you will probably not want to share this story with others.
BUT, God help us all when the gate slams shut!
Quote for today:
"The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are now outnumbered by those who vote for a living."

(By the way, you are starting to sound very similar to a past commentor known as "janetluvshorses." She was unable to control herself when it came to name-calling and snide remarks, with no comments on the actual blog topics themselves. Coincidence?)

"" MILWAUKEE - If you or someone you know receives a check for federal benefits like social security, s-s-i, or veterans benefits, listen up.
As of march 1st, the us treasury will no longer be issuing paper checks.
All payments, with a few exceptions, will be made via direct deposit to your bank or credit union account or sent in the form of a direct express debit mastercard.
The change is being made so that recipients will have a safer, more immediate, access to these funds, with less problems and costs associated with issuing checks. If you are already receiving your funds via direct deposit or debit card, this change will not affect you.""
They MUST already have an account with a bank, which required photo ID when the bank opened the account. Appears all others will be required to obtain a photo ID. There goes all you lefties who say seniors would be disinfranchised and could not be able to vote They will now must have one.
Take the effort to be sure your parents, grandparents, and other senior relatives get an ID since you apparently had been to busy to be sure they obtained one before the Obama administration passed this ID requirement.

What has Walker done to make Wisconsin "open for business " besides letting
industries write legislation?
ahemmer - Feb 23, 2013 5:04 PM
Here's the answer to your question on HOW Governor Walker is making Wisconsin more "business-friendly:"
1) Walker started the "Qualified New Business Venture" which makes investors in the companies eligible for a 25-percent tax credit on the amount they invest in the businesses. This allows new businesses - who need capital to start up - to get a foot up on growth. A friendly tax environment helps new businsesses get started.
2) Walker has given corporate tax breaks to companies in the state and others looking to come here.
3) A recent law promoted in Madison prohibits mandatory sick days, which benefit employers.
4) Walker and the Republicans are working to "de-regulate" many of the regulations that exist that are a deterrent to businesses.
In addition Carl, Wisconsin - with Governor Walker leading the way - has moved way up on rankings of states that are "Best to do business in." We have moved up 22 spots since 2010 and currently are at #20. See: http://chiefexecutive.net/best-worst-states-for-business-2012
A very interesting read - and great news for our state.
WFB resident - Feb 24, 2013 9:31 AM
notice that we have moved up in number under Walker ? Do you know who was guv,
before Walker ? Am I writing slo enough for you ??? lol...

What does that tell you? Look around see whats going on right now in this state all the trades have picked up all after Walker took office. From excavating to buildings this state is on a fast track to putting more people to work and darn near all the companies that do work for us are swamped. From union to nonunion companies they all say the same thing. You hypocrites can sit here and say if Obama turned pro-life we would still find reason to dislike him well go look in the mirror cause no matter what Walker does it will never ever be good enough for you.
So Hicks next time you walk down to your favorite liquor store take the long way and see exactly what’s going on in this state. Our country may be headed for Gloom and doom but right now this state is booming with work all work that will lead to more hiring in the near future.
Every job we finish is for a company that is looking to hire more people for work every single one.
Every building we build is putting millions of dollars into our economy and supplying a steady job for the hundreds of people I work with daily.
Hicks your skirting the truth as always just for a silly slap on the butt from your liberal pals here.
You want the truth then take a look around do some research this state is coming alive big time, all because of one person who had the foresight and vision to move Wisconsin forward even with a bumbling boob in Washington he has taken a broken down state to a mover and shaker a place others are looking to follow a place corporations are finally showing interest in again.
