Happy New Year! - to all those who follow my blog and to those who do not!!!
As a conservative, I feel there will be much to look forward to in 2014 (and 2016, but let's not jump too far ahead!).
As my own treat to myself (and my one and only New Years Resolution), I have done away with my Facebook page and will no longer be commenting on any livinglakecountry.com blogs.
During the Christmas/New Years season, I had the opportunity at two social events (aka: "parties") to hear from a few people who read my blog. They said although they enjoyed reading what I wrote, they did not want to comment - at all. They were totally turned off by the comments - especially the personal attacks aimed at yours truly. They expressed their shock and disgust with the liberal commentors - how vile and nasty. I tend to agree. I thought Facebook comments would make people check their bad behavior at the door just a wee bit, but I was sadly mistaken. As a matter of fact, I think that using Facebook for comments has allowed conversations to digress towards the gutter more than ever. Though I will no longer be taking part in what could barely be called a "discussion," I do hope that the liberals who tune in will continue to comment. In doing so, people get a real opportunity to witness on a daily basis the self-proclaimed "compassionate, open-minded, loving ones" among us. And that, my friends, can only do harm to the liberal cause. Because the liberals who comment on my site are classic examples of the hate and nastiness that IS liberalism. The hate and nastiness for those who do not agree with socialism, liberalism, communism. or the rule of Obama. This IS a good thing - for the conservatives and Republicans out there. As for me, I no longer have any desire to continue to participate and I wash my hands of the whole mess.
I will continue to write my blog. I feel that as an American, dedicated to this wonderful country of ours - in some way, writing my blog is my small contribution to helping the good fight and keeping others informed and sharing in news, issues, challenges, etc. that the mainstream media fails to report on in an unbiased manner. The mainstream media for the last few decades has slanted so far left as to have become just another arm of the Democratic/socialist party. True journalism (the "who, what, why, where, when, and how") died a few decades ago. So as a blogger, at least I am given the opportunity to be a voice for those who aren't fond of a diet of pro-Obama, pro-socialism reporting.
Case in point: The New York Times recent laugher on Benghazi - yes folks - now it WAS about a video!!! (See: http://www.nytimes.com/projects/2013/benghazi/#/?chapt=0 ) We are talking a cover-up about a cover-up. Prior to the presidential election, the attack in Benghazi was blamed on a video. After the election, it was deemed to be a coordinated attack by terrorists. Now it's about a video again. Can it get any more bizarre? Journalism" at its slimiest - all simply to pave the way and lay the groundwork for a Hillary Clinton run at the presidency. After all, the left has to whitewash Clinton's inability to handle that phone call at 3 a.m., now, don't they??? Sadly, the low information voters out there are probably noddin' their heads and sayin' yeah...duh...it WAS about a video all along!!! Golly gee! Now hand me the channel changer to watch the antics of the Kardashians!!!" The obvious reason for the recent New York Times article is the fact that Benghazi MUST be neutralized to help Hillary Clinton. I sure hope that the American public is NOT as stupid as the New York Times is hoping and continues to hold Clinton (and Obama) responsible for allowing four Americans to die in Benghazi. Americans should NEVER be satisified with Clinton's "what difference does it make?" response concerning the death of four Americans including an American ambassador. Any Repubican running for President in 2016 should use Clinton's callous remark as a campaign bumper sticker. Rest assured, we WILL be treated to numerous Benghazi articles in the days to come that will attempt to absolve Hillary of any wrong-doing.
(As a side note, I am sure that the media will soon be kicking it into high gear with positive stories about Obamacare to help Obama and create the warm and fuzzies with the low information voters out there. The latest reports celebrate "two million" supposed sign ups. Two million? Really?!? What IS the definition of a "sign up?" Enrolled? Paid up? Waiting for government subsidies (taxpayer dollars) to kick in? (But heck, doesn't the government need SEVEN million in order for the socialized medicine program to break even?)).
As 2013 fades away and 2014 arrives, things are looking up. Thanks to Obamacare, many more Americans have woken up and are actually becoming concerned about what is happening to the country. This bodes well for the future. Obama has been exposed as the liar he has always been. Even the media is having a difficult time trying to make Obamacare not sound like the disaster it is.
Ah, but I digress.
In closing, I wish a Happy New Year to all. 2014 could - and should - be a major turning point. We can - and must - fight to preserve our life, liberty, and our pursuit of happiness. In other words, we must continue to defend our Constitution against the assault from those who would love to "rebuild" our country as they see fit. ALL Americans will be better off. We must continue to promote personal responsibility and less reliance upon the government and government growth. After all, who wants to live like those in Cuba, Venezuela, China, or Russia? Who really wants America to turn into a socialist or communist country?
Want to fight against it?
