"Recall Doyle" movement picking up steam!
Wisconsinites are finally getting smart - and angry!- perhaps following in the footsteps of Californians who recently said "enough is enough." No more tax increases! No more fee increases! No more careless, excessive spending! First came the nation-wide Tea Parties - which helped galvanize conservatives and others fed up with higher taxes and wasted dollars. More Tea Parties are to come, which should continue to unite and strengthen the GOP and conservative base.
Now we have another movement underfoot. One which currently isn't getting much attention from the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel, but has been featured on conservative talk radio in the area as well as Madison. I am referring to the "Recall Doyle" campaign. Governor Doyle needs to go. And the Recall Doyle organization is spearheading the effort to kick him out of office.
Remember these lies from Diamond Jim Doyle, while campaigning for re-election back in 2003?
"Wisconsin's problem is not that we tax too little, it's that we spend too much."
"My mind will be open to every solution except one. We should not, we must not, and I will not raise taxes."
"By costing us jobs, raising taxes would trigger an economic spiral that would cost us revenue too. In the long run -- and perhaps in the short term, too--raising taxes will make the deficit worse, not better."
Now fast forward to 2009.
Here's what the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel had to report on Saturday, May 30, 2009:
"Budget includes millions in earmarks." by Patrick Marley and Stacey Forster
The first paragraph of the story tells it all: "Facing a record $6.6 billion deficit, the Legislature's Joint Finance Committee on Friday passed a budget crafted late at night and largely behind closed doors that included tax increases, trims in state aid, and millions of dollars in pork-barrel projects in Democratic districts."
Here's Diamond Jim Doyle's response in the same article: "Democratic Governor Jim Doyle praised the deal, suggesting he would use his vast veto powers sparingly." In other words, Doyle never met a tax hike he didn't like, even though he ran on the promise to never raise taxes. We are going to be taxed like never before. Both at the state (thanks, Governor Doyle!) and federal level (thanks, President Obama!).
If you, like me, are outraged and fed up at what Doyle and the Democrats are doing to hard working taxpayers and our state- in the face of huge budget deficits, an ailing economy, an unemployment rate that continues to climb, and failing businesses - you now have the opportunity to do something about it!
As I previously mentioned, I first heard about an organization starting a petition drive to recall Governor Doyle on conservative talk radio. I checked into it and contacted them directly, expressing the desire to promote their efforts in my blog. The "Recall Doyle" organization was very receptive and I wish to thank them! At the time, they were seeking 3,500 volunteers to sign up to help promote their efforts. Well, that goal has already been reached - much more quickly than they ever imagined! Now they are shooting for 4,000 volunteers by June 7th. Once they have reached 10,000 volunteers, the petition drive begins to recall Doyle! Hopefully Doyle will be out of the Governor's mansion by the end of the year! (Maybe once Doyle goes, we can start a petition drive to get Obama out of office?!?)
Both Vince Schmuki (representative for WIN (Wisconsinites Interests Now) For the Recall Doyle Team) and Orville Seymer have granted me the rights to use the following information from the "Recall Doyle" website. If you need some convincing as why Doyle has to go, the following should help persuade you:
Many of the items listed above are actually included in the 2009 budget that Doyle is so eager to sign. For example, the smoking ban will begin in 2010. The QEO is also set to be repealed that same year. And taxes are indeed going to go up in many of the areas mentioned. Read on for more information from the Recall Doyle team:

9 reasons why we must recall NOW!
If my single vote could recall Doyle, I would cast it in a New York Minute. Maybe, I'm not figuring this correctly, but if Doyle is recalled doesn't that mean that Walker would have to use his campaign funds now to try to get elected? And...wouldn't that mean that there wouldn't be enough time for him to recoup enough of those funds to run again in 2010? I would just like to get some input on this topic.
Two scenarios, Walker faces Doyle in a recall election in 6 months or a general election in 18 months.
FIRST, LET'S START WITH THE PURELY IDEOLOGICAL
1. #1 REASON: Do you REALLY want to give Doyle another year to ruin Wisconsin before doing anything about it? This, to me, is the big ideological no-brainer.
2. The taste of Doyle's outrageous budget is fresh in the mouths of voters known for having notoriously short memories. The longer we wait the less bitter the taste.
3. The federal stimulus will likely produce a small rebound effect in 18 months before rampant inflation and dollar devaluation destroys the economy for a decade. Doyle will use this to his advantage. However, we will likely still be on a slow downward trend in six months.
AND NOW FOR THE (PARDON THE PUN) PARTISAN ELEPHANTS IN THE ROOM!
1. During a recall election Walker essentially gets a free ride as Doyle must focus on defending against the recall rather than a general election opponent.
2. We already see multiple Republican challengers (Mark Neumann et al) that will only serve to muddy Walker's image and drain his funding without Doyle having to lift a finger or spend a cent all the way to the primary election. Doyle will have no such challenger. That will leave only six weeks until the general election for Walker to rebuild his finances and rally the now divided conservative factions behind him. A recall election in six months preempts Walker's challengers by denying them time to build their campaigns. Think about it. If a contested primary is such a good idea why aren't the liberals doing it?
3. The best reason for a recall is to demonstrate to politicians on both sides of the aisle they risk immediate removal for dishonesty and reckless, partisan politics. However, for the purely partisan the reason for a recall election is obvious - it gives you two shots on goal. At worst, the recall is a dress rehearsal for the general election and provides valuable insight as to what will be and won't be effective.
4. Lastly, here is a less savory technical reason for implementing a recall. Recalls are exempt from state campaign finance personal donation limits. Individuals can donate to recall actions above and beyond all state limits.
So, no matter how you look at it, ideologically, competitively, partisanly, or financially, introducing a recall action makes a great deal of sense over simply waiting for the next regularly scheduled general election.

I remember signing the petition, the group promised not to be endorse anybody from either side, but the lied and endorsed Walker. I learned my lesson. People from Milwaukee County elected and re-elected a fraud and inept indiviual, who's ideology means more than actually makeing the tough choices to run the county right.
Walker can't make any tough descions nor work with the Council, and it's been a disastear for us, I can't imagine what the oppurtunist would do to the State. he couldn;t even run Milwaukees health and human services, nor the park system, etc....
I learned my lesson. I hope Wisconsin can learn from Miwlaukee mistakes.

The country may just be waking up but will it be in time before Obama and our governors put us all in to bankruptcy?

I think many people are going to be very unhappy once all of Doyle and the Democrats recent budget passes - everything under the sun is taxed. It's amazing - the Democrats have even out-done themselves this time around. Just wait till people realize how little of their own money they have at the end of the work week. Once all of Doyle's fees and tax increases are enacted, people will really feel it in their pocketbooks. The tide will turn, and Republicans will soon be back in charge. Hopefully it will not be too late.
