Our New Names!
Finally figured out what the new grandparents are going to be called!
Keeping in mind that our own kids have 4 sets of grandparents already, taking on the names of Grandma and Grandpa was just going to add to the confusion for the poor kid. So, after checking around with our friends, looking into the origins of the name and trying them out on each other to the amusement of our 2 kids that are home from college for the summer, we finally made a decision.
Opa for Grandpa & Oma for Grandma. It's actually the German version. And, since we are of German descent mixed in with a little English, it fit! Now, if we can just get our new granddaughter to say it...
