Just some more of the same ole same ole conservative psychobabble.
The following statement sums up the entire conservative argument.
2) "Now, I have no interest in putting private insurers out of business."
Oh really?
What no “fabricated facts” to use to attack this??

"False. What Obama fails to mention is that hospitals and doctors will not be allowed to ask for birth certificates or other information regarding a person's status as an illegal or otherwise."

That's not proof that Obama lied. If anything it's proof that he failed to mention something. The bill is a thousand pages long, I'm sure he "failed to mention" a lot of things. You and Hayatt need to get clear on what actually constitutes lying. The two of you have made a habit of making false allegations. It's not very Christian of you.

The Ninth Commandment reads:

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

jmark and onlyoneme: You need to re-read my blog.

Onlyoneme: Obama touts a "single payer system" in the YouTube clip provided. He is saying the words. A "single payer system" means no private insurers. The single-payer system eliminates the need for intermediary for-profit health insurance companies.
How do you dispute the words coming out of Obama's own mouth?

jmark: It is a fact (a fact: the quality of being actual) that hospitals and doctors will not be able to ask for proof of citizenship for those they will be treating under Obamacare. HR3200 doesn’t require people to establish citizenship or legal residency before applying to exchanges for health insurance, including the public option, taxpayer money will certainly flow to illegal immigrants.

FACT: HR 3200 explicitly prohibits illegal aliens from receiving any Federal dollars to subsidize health insurance. “Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States”, is the direct quote found in Section 246.

"False. In order to be excluded from Obamacare, the term "abortion" has to be written in the bill specifically as an exclusion."

Wrong. There are currently laws on the books that prohibit federal funds from being used for abortion, with certain exceptions i.e. rape, incest, life endangering condition caused by the pregnancy. Not mentioning the word abortion in the bill does not nullify existing legislation.

Well I see you've done something you criticized the President for doing. You modified the original post and didn't let on that you had. Double standard?

Amy: "If you wish to give an "attaboy" to Senator Joe Wilson:....."

"Anybody who would cat-call the president of the United States addressing this body is very, very inappropriate, and he will hear from a lot of us about that," Rep. Jerry Lewis, R-Calif., told FOX News Radio.

Seems not even the Republicans agree with Amy on this one. Truly dispicable behavior.

Here's an interesting tidbit about Mr Wilson: http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/thegaggle/archive/2009/09/10/joe-wilson-s-dirty-health-care-secret.aspx

Your blog seems to be loaded with questions that have already been answered over and over again. Too bad the people who have to keep asking these same questios can't get a brain transplant. Maybe then they'd be able to understand simple concepts.

"It is a fact (a fact: the quality of being actual) that hospitals and doctors will not be able to ask for proof of citizenship for those they will be treating under Obamacare."

Its a fact that Obama's plan will triple the number of checks that hospitals check on citizenship from the checks they presently make.

"[Obama's plan] depends on most of it's financing on the bare assertion that we are currently wasting hundreds of billions of dollars, and that we will stop wasting money only if taxpayers knuckle under to [Obama's plan]"

False is correct. There are many possible ways to reform the system to save that money.

Obama's plan and those that model it in congress, however, are the only plans in existance that achieve that goal. In addition, the republicans have had decades to create their own plan and have failed to do so.

Thursday Sep 10, 2009 4:31 PM

"we've estimated that most of this plan can be paid for by finding savings within the existing health care system, a system that is currently full of waste and abuse"

This is obviously true since that's the purpose of the reform and what most of the reform entails.

"if Medicare is so corrupt, why isn't the Obama government addressing the problem right now?"

Where've you been? That's what he's doing. Even the simple-minded folks seem to understand that.

" Obama promises that every American will be covered under Obamacare and it will cost Americans less. Anyone capable of adding or subtracting can figure out that this is not possible. It's called "math." Usually one does not get more for less."

So when the cost of milk or gas goes down, you never take more for your $20?

Even the simple minded folks know to take all that they pay for.

Did not see the speech but a conservative co-worker told me this morning what she got out of the speech was President Obama asking for the bickering to stop and for our Senators and Congressmen/ladies to get to work and put something on the table. Sounds like leadership to me?

Addressing the need for something to get done, in the latest AARP Bulletin on page 8 they say that healthcare costs may double by 2016 if nothing is done. How does everyone feel about that? Now you may not like what is being put out there but President Obama is not just giving this lip service he is pushing this hard, he knows that if nothing is done healthcare costs will bankrupt our country. So criticise all you want but if you only offer criticism without offering your solution to the problem then you are nothing more than the "Status Quo" of the past which is the reason we are in this situation.

I personally think the gov't should offer a single payer plan with some modifications and let the industry adjust or go out of bussiness. Currently the industry makes billions no reason they cannot take less profit and make healthcare more affordable except they are greedy, since they refuse to adjust on their own let the gov't set the standards.

Anyone want an interesting read see page 12 of the latest AARP bullitin.

I think the most important message from the speech is that access to healthcare for all Americans is a moral obligation, not only on a personal level, but of eachother becuase each single american is a piece and part of the nation.

The general welfare, the whole, is just as important as the individual.

OMG if an illegal were to be brought to the ER they would probably be treated -- and hey if bad enough, maybe go to the ICU.

I am pretty sure that in Ultra Conservative Lingo the word ILLEGALS is code for MEXICANS ........ guess what folks ........ I have met many ILLEGALS here in the States from IRELAND, ROMANIA, POLAND, ENGLAND --- etc ....

But hey --if ANYONE goes to an ER --- even if they look like a blonde hair blue eyed angel ---- the medicos should verify they are a citizen before treatment --- NO BIRTH CERTIFICATE --- then tell them to go outside and quit bleeding on the floor.

As for Mexican illegals, they are easy to spot (espcially in Lake Country) --- just look for:

1) The guys cutting your grass
2) The busboy at your favorite restaurant
3) The woman cleaning your house
4) The men, women and children harvesting cabbage in the Racine area
5) Somebody working in a meat processing plant in Iowa
6) Or anybody doing the most dirty, hardest, and disgusting job, for minimum wage or less, usually for 10 or more hours per day !!!
