News, Information and Ideas on how to deal with hearing loss in a hearing world. Plus a few other topics!
Looping in Wisconsin
For those of you wanting to know what facilities are looped here in Wisconsin, here is information that I got from Dr. Juliette Sterkens, an audiologist from the Fox Valley Region.
Dr. Sterkens embarked on this endeavour a few months ago. She is one of the only audi's that I know of that has genuinely gone the extra mile when it comes to improving access for those with hearing loss.
When you go to the above website, click on the 'Places We Have Looped' located on the left hand side of the page. This will give you more information on the latest venues that now have the Loop System here in Wisconsin.
For those of you that do not know much about Loop Systems, the other topics on there will bring you up to speed! Dr. Sterkens and her crew also do presentations for groups that are looking into doing this. Wouldn't it be nice if some of our governmental facilities would take the time to have this presentation done for them?
Do you know of any other facilities that have a loop system? If you do, please post them in the comments section. She is trying to get a complete list together so that it can then be given out to those with hearing loss. No, she is not charging anyone for this information, just trying to get the ball rolling.
Did you know that you can also have this done for your home or car? Great information in an easy to read format.
Thanks Dr. Sterkens! We could certainly use a few more 'Professionals' like you...
Have a great week!
