A political earthquake.
So along come a few elections in 2009. Republicans are swept back into office - in several cases by very large margins. Governorships in New Jersey and Virginia (actually, a trifecta in Virginia - Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General). No Democrats won. This is just the start. Looks like conservatism isn't dead after all.
Obama and the White House will downplay the importance of this election, of course. Saying no big deal - it doesn't speak to what the people think about Obama and his socialist policies. As I have said all along - when Obama says one thing - he means something completely different. This election DOES say a great deal about what the voters now think about Obama and his policies. In this case, Obama and the Dems are very afraid - afraid for what 2010 and 2012 will bring. Obama realizes he has 3 years left. He will be a lame duck after 2010. (As a side note, Obamacare has been brought to a screeching halt. Hopefully it will disappear altogether.)
America may actually look forward to real "hope" and "change" in 2010 and 2012. Our country can once again be the greatest nation on the face of the earth - one that celebrates freedom, the individual, and encourages hard work, love of country, responsibility, and smaller government. A sharp veer on the right path away from the phony socialist utopia Obama is intent on creating. And maybe in 2012 we'll actually get a president who is proud of his or her country and celebrates our greatness rather than criticizes us at every opportunity. What a refreshing "change" that will be! There is indeed "hope" that the American people will not be bamboozled in 2012 like they were in 2008!

The U.S. political climate heading into 2010 is not as favorable to the Democratic Party as it was in 2006 and 2008. Though Democrats continue to have an edge in party affiliation and President Obama retains majority approval, congressional approval and satisfaction with the U.S. are low.

"Americans are much less sure than they were a year ago at the time of his election that President Barack Obama will be able to accomplish a number of challenges facing his administration. In particular, far fewer Americans believe he will be able to heal political divisions and control federal spending."

Amy...this just reported. The White House was asked if Obama watched the elections results last night. They said no, but he was briefed from time to time. So what did he watch? A special about Obama and his 2008 campaign! How do these liberals not see what a wacko not just politically, but mentally, we have in the White House!

More Americans now say President Barack Obama is governing from the left (54%) than expected him to do so just after the election (43%). Less than half (48%) currently think he is keeping his promises -- down from two-thirds (65%) in April.

“Robert Gibbs said, well, he was actually watching, you know, the HBO special about his year-long campaign and how it all went.”
