I have a background in science and writing. I consider myself liberal, progressive, environmentally aware on many issues, but also believe that conservatism has a place and is valid.
Tea Baggers where were They?
When Bush left Office with a 1.2 trillion deficit?
Where were you when the Republicans borrowed billions from China to pay for their wars and un-fettered spending?
When the Congressional Republicans added billions of Pork to spending bills?
When the NSA spied on all of our communications without probable cause?
When our government used Torture as a means to gather intelligence, against our treaties and law?
When your government lied to you and started a war with Iraq?
When Republicans cried out against the Filibuster but now embrace it?
When the Bush Administration due to its lack of Regulation of the Financial Markets destroyed are economy, then bailed out the mega banks?
Why are you silent! When blatant racist bigot’s in your own movement ruin your reputation?

I know who you are now, a disjointed group of people suddenly angry at the perceived government abuses by the Democrats, scared to death of that the idea of sane economic policies fighting to correct the disaster of “Reaganomics” and “supply-side” control over the consumer. The un-fettered greed and virtual casino the markets have become. You and your so called “values” are hard to take seriously because you stayed silent for long 8 years when a conservative Christian Republican held office and did the things you blame Obama for in his first year? Afraid of Big Brother….Right? Then why did you not speak out against Big Brother when he listened to your conversations without probable cause!
Another case of Situational Ethics, kind of like the same kind that the Republicans face now when they embrace the filibuster at the minority party, when they decried its use when they were the Majority.
The Tea Bagger’s failure is a lack of consistency, when the same economic abuses you blame the Democrats for were already mastered by the conservatives you approved of and that you gave a free pass and stayed silent. I find it hard to find you people believable and clearly have mastered the art of hypocrisy. The evidence of your double standards, based purely on political lines and hatred of a government with Democrats in power, voted in by the vast majority of Americans, points out that your new found “patriotism” and love of “freedom & Liberty” is as partisan and transparent as your silent support for the rightwing abuses of the constitution during Bush’s eight year reign.

And how can I debate or answer Jakes question when his entire blog is nothing but an NBC, CBS, and MSNBC pack of lies from the liberal lame stream media? Love to debate Ref, as you know, but impossible to when liberal lies permeate the blog content. Bush didn't torture anyone. Direct that Q to Pelosi and the 4 other democrats that approved the hazing technique. All the while Dr was present.
When you prove one lie as to be a lie, as I just did and had many times before, the rest go down as the same.

Still does not answer the question why Tea Baggers do not "decry" the racists and bigots in their own movement either.
Nor does these "so called tea party ethics" explain why the abuses of the past 8 years are simply ignored and why excuses are made for torture.
Unless I am wrong and Jim thinks that torture is an American value?
Jacob Pickard - Jan 22, 2010 8:14 AM
For instance, a plate for the first Tea Party movement national meeting costs $550, and the person who is running it running it as a For Profit convention? Tell me Jim why would a "grass-roots" movement wanting to have a big tent, let itself be so quickly co-opted by a for profit entity?

Non profits are more closely regulated, which is why the Tea Bs went with a for profit status.
Looks like some kind of a politics inc. , to me.
Don't call it torture it's " physician approved hazing".
The right is rightfully afraid now, the Republicans ,and many complacent Democrats who complied with them, greatly increased presidential powers after 911 and now the other guys have control of that power.

And to further prove how off base you are, not one tea party I and so many others attend had any cost. All were free and all the speakers donated their time. Get used to it Jake, you will see more. And if you don’t like many of this, than the best thing to do is kick out those responsible for this movement: Obama, Reid, Pelosi, and the other liberal democrats that have no spine to stand on their own and fight the horrible lies and corruption from the democratic party. Send a letter to Obama. He’s the #1 reason I attended these tea parties. And the #1 reason millions more have and why the dems are getting booted out.

How a movement can survive that is comprised of, what appears to be, a single demographic is beyond me.

Seven in 10 Americans (72%) say Scott Brown’s surprise Senate win in Massachusetts reflects frustrations that many Americans share. By 55% to 39%, Americans say the president and Congress should now suspend work on the healthcare bill and consider alternatives rather than trying to pass the current version.

So what about the Tea Baggers reputation for having bigots and racists? Why have none of you guys gotten rid of these bigoted pigs from your movement? Or are these type of people the majority of your movement that their can be no seperation??

I'm looking for answers as to why, Suddenly, with a democrat in office you tea baggers are so angery and anti-government becuase I didn;t see it with 8 years of Bush.
I want to understand WHY it was okay for Bush and the Republicans to borrow and spend and WHY it is not OKAY for Obama to borrow and spend? Answer my question, other wise you bring nothing to this thread.
