The State of the “I’m in trouble” Address.
I think the SOTUA puts Obama at close to 500 interviews and or speeches since elected. Not sure if anyone keeps tabs, but I would wager that’s a record for any president in his first year. Maybe combined!
I couldn’t help wonder if Obama was going to try, again, to bamboozle the American public into thinking that he is no longer an ultra-liberal (voted the most liberal senator in Washington before he was president) and moving to the center. You do recall all those campaign promises that leaned to the right such as “transparency, ethical Washington, C-Span, lower taxes, no more pork or lobbyists” and much much more. No sense in beating a dead horse. Unless that horse is the Phoenix. Which seemed to rise from the ashes on Wednesday night! However, Obama’s second chance to confuse and deceive, just as he did during 2008, may not have worked this time. That’s because his rhetoric, that sounded like he was moving to the middle, didn’t last long since he contradicted himself all too often (should of asked Dick Morris how he got Clinton to make the change back in 1994). And someone needs to let the democrats know, and the person who wrote Obama’s speech (did it seem to you too that Obama’s speech was written at the last minute?), that though most Americans don’t recall much by the time the next elections arrive, they do when you speak for only an hour.
To tell us, again, that Obama wants bipartisanship going forward is just more of his “I’m in deep doo-doo” talk since a few minutes later be bashed the Supreme Court, with an outright lie, and then tried to blame the democrats lack of getting anything done on the Republicans. How can the minority in Washington get blamed? The majorities are in charge, Mr. Obama, and it’s your liberal democrats that own the majority. And to show how unfit you are to be our president, you had a rare opportunity to do what you wanted since the democrats had a super majority for your first year in office. That’s more than “the first hundred days.” Remember that Mr. president?

What specifically didn't you like? The tax cuts proposed for college loans and small businesses? The 3 year spending freeze? repealing DADT? the focus on job creation? The tax credit for small businesses hiring new employees? and so on.....
We know you don't like Obama, Jim. How about addressing the actual issues you have with his SOTU address, not just the blanket tirade of how "liberal" he is.....
btw, did you catch the news this morning that GDP grew by 5.7% in 4th Q, making it the 2nd quarter in a row for growth...? Hmmm...any thoughts on that?

"Make no mistake about it, I understand how tough it is, sir. I talk to families who die."
"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."
"Removing Saddam Hussein was the right decision early in my presidency, it is the right decision now, and it will be the right decision ever."
"See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda."
"There's no question about it. Wall Street got drunk -- that's one of the reasons I asked you to turn off the TV cameras -- it got drunk and now it's got a hangover. The question is how long will it sober up and not try to do all these fancy financial instruments."
"If the terriers and bariffs are torn down, this economy will grow."
"You know, I'm the President during this period of time, but I think when the history of this period is written, people will realize a lot of the decisions that were made on Wall Street took place over a decade or so, before I arrived in President, during I arrived in President."
"Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream."
"The California crunch really is the result of not enough power-generating plants and then not enough power to power the power of generating plants."
"They misunderestimated me."
If only Obama could speak like this then maybe things would be less confusing for some and funny for the rest of us who are not part of the some. I'm sorry, I have read to many Bushism's. "I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully" -(George W. Bush), but can the far right coexist by themselves or will they turn on themselves?

"eliminate all capital gains taxes on small business investment, and provide a tax incentive for all large businesses and all small businesses to invest in new plants and equipment."
"take $30 billion of the money Wall Street banks have repaid and use it to help community banks give small businesses the credit they need to stay afloat."
"small business tax credit, one that will go to over one million small businesses who hire new workers or raise wages."
"Well, I do not accept second place for the United States of America. " Added this one in for your friend from Merton - she is always carrying on about Obama "hating" America, you know.....
"I'm calling on Congress to publish all earmark requests on a single Web site before there's a vote, so that the American people can see how their money is being spent."
"I'm speaking to both parties now. The confirmation of well-qualified public servants shouldn't be held hostage to the pet projects or grudges of a few individual senators. "

To claim its from the stimulus or obama (as you seem to sggest) is preposterous and cannot be validated by ANY real world numbers or even anecdotal evidence.

Now don’t get mad and start your kicking and screaming all over again. I’m only giving back to you what you deliver. No more no less.

And btw, this blog topic is about the SOTU address, Jim. What "lies and deceit" did you hear in the SOTU? What issues that I quoted for you above did you not like? Why aren't you answering any questions relating to the SOTU?
Christian Democrat - Jan 29, 2010 2:37 PM
Seriously. Hysterical.

I liked much of what Obama promised when he campaigned. His promises leaned him away from his being labeled as the #1 liberal in Washington. However, what has happened in the recent elections, where states with majority strongholds held by democrats have now lost those seats to Republicans, and the fact that even the liberal polls show a lack of trust for Obama, proves that those promises were "just words." His lies were only to deceive you to vote for him. I was smarter than that. And you?
However, during his SOTUA, Obama tried again to lie and deceive by trying to bamboozle us into believing that this time he will lean to the middle with bipartisanship, transparency, etc. The problem with this CD, and you too should be grown up enough to know, is that fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!!
Christian Democrat - Jan 29, 2010 3:30 PM
And you constantly talk about all these "lies" but fail to ever prove them. I believe your definition of "lie" is very faulty. Just like your definition of "invasion".

CD - If I was face to face with Jim I would tell him to F-Off. I would have no regrets about it.
Jim - I stand by my statment. You mistreat people, it is analagous to a person who physically abuses another, a wife beater if you will, who expects the beaten to forgive after you say your sorry and go back to normal.

I have not forgiven you, nor will I ever, I will always attack you personally.
Anyway, it makes good drama for LLC blogs!
jhayett - Jan 29, 2010 5:24 PM
When I call you or prove someone lied, I back it up. However, all you have to do is debate my blog and the facts. I don't drift off until you or others do. I follow and I only give back. No one EVER said you needed to defend me from those you stand behind when they attack. never. Proof? Just look around and read some of your pals comments right here on this blog site. Three have been removed this week they were so vulgar. Never heard a peep from you except you go and joint blog with one of the more vulgar liberals, hey Christian
