I have a background in science and writing. I consider myself liberal, progressive, environmentally aware on many issues, but also believe that conservatism has a place and is valid.
Posters MUST enforce the LLC Discussion Guidelines
If it is not obvious by now LLC does not enforce the Discussion Guidelines. It is up to the posters on this Blog Site to stop rewarding Bloggers that break these guidelines on a daily basis.
1) Stop responding to the Blogs of bloggers who do not follow the guidelines. It rewards the blogger with positive reinforcement and they will continue the behavior that does not follow the guidelines.
2) Respond to bloggers who “follow” the guidelines.
3) JS and LLC do not care all they want is to get as many hits as possible, need proof just look at Jim and I, because we are not held to any standards.

Discussion Guidelines
We welcome your participation in our blogs and other discussion areas within the Journal Interactive network. We hope the words our bloggers write will elicit your comments, whether you agree or disagree with them, just find them entertaining, or have additional information or analysis to pass on.
To keep the conversation enjoyable and interesting for all of our readers, however, we ask that you abide by some simple, common sense rules.
Here's the short version:
· Don't use profanities or obscenities.
· Don't post personal attacks and insults; threats; ethnic, racial, religious or sexual slurs; or otherwise engage in hateful conversation.
· Don't stray from the topic of the blog or submit pointless comments.
· DON'T SHOUT BY USING ALL UPPERCASE LETTERS.
· Don't use this space for press releases or commercial purposes.
· Don't submit knowingly false or libelous comments.
· Don't pretend to be somebody else, or maintain more than one screen name, or use a screen name that might be considered objectionable or insulting.
· Don't knowingly give out any personal information about other individuals, including participants of these blogs.
· Don't post copyrighted or trademarked content.
Also, take what you find among the comments with a grain of salt. Some people in online communities derive satisfaction from trying to upset others. Ignore them. We'll monitor reader comments as best we can, but we do not necessarily read every word submitted by users of these blogs. If you see comments that don't abide by our discussion guidelines, please let us know by clicking the "report abuse" link on the blog or e-mailing our online staff.
By participating in our blogs, you agree to abide by the terms of this agreement. We also reserve the right to change this agreement at any time.

4) Write LLC and the Journal Sentinel calling out Bloggers that break these guidelines and express your displeasure with the lack of standards on the site.
Posters, only you can make the difference in the end.
You are the target and the consumer of this product that JS puts out. It is obvious that bloggers, even with well intentions, get caught up in their own BS and feel like the have the right to ignore the agreement above.
I am cleaning up my act; I am disgusted with my behavior, but I still plan to keep up the fight.
Thanks for Reading, Jake
We encourage your comments but will strive to remove discussion that contains personal attacks, racial slurs, profanity or other inappropriate material as outlined in our guidelines. We post-moderate comments on most content, but may choose to pre-moderate some comments so please be patient if you don't see yours appear right way. We also ask for your help by reporting comments you think are inappropriate.

When bloggers still had control over poster content, "Jim let BillyJ threaten me physically". Jim had ever opputruntiy to go in and clean it up and delete the message and tell BillyJ that that ws going to far.
Jim did nothing, but let the violent threat stand.
I complained to Erin, but at first she did nothing. I pushed again and finally she came to my side and created the discussion rules.
Jim, via a proxy, threatened me personally. He was not banned for those actions.
