Proud to be the party of "NO"
Democrats and President Obama have labeled Republicans as the "party of no" as if that is a bad thing!
It isn't.
The Republicans in office should wear that badge proudly. After all, they are really representing and listening to their constituents. Obama and the Democrats, in all their arrogance, are not.
The majority of Americans, finally enlightened by the emergence of the real Obama - who wasn't the moderate he pretended to be during the presidential campaign - have been frightened and angered by the policies and plans coming out of the White House.
We need to say NO to Obamacare. Obamacare is nothing more than a government power-grab of one-sixth of the United States economy.
We need to say NO to Cap and Tax (trade).
We need to say NO to terrorist-friendly policies.
We need to say NO to holding civilian trials for terrorists in New York City.
We need to say NO to bigger government.
We need to say NO to higher taxes.
We need to say NO to weaker National Defense.
We need to say NO to stimulus bills that do nothing, create no jobs, and are loaded with pork, as we have now witnessed several times.
We need to say NO to the spend, spend, spend mentality in government.
We need to say NO to the government take-overs of businesses in the private sector.
We need to say NO to a government intent on taking away more and more of our rights.
Obama's socialist policies clearly don't resonate with the majority of Americans. His dive in the polls, his failures at home and abroad, are already clear signs that he is on his way to becoming one of the worst presidents this country has every seen. The American people know what Obamacare is all about. We know that Cap and Trade would set up the government for more control over our lives and stifle economic growth. And more Americans are learning that global warming is a joke - with data manipulated by scientists to support a specific agenda.
I really hope that many Republican leaders refuse to attend the next Obama infomercial coming up on February 25th. You know, that meeting that the media is portraying as a "bipartisan" discussion between Obama and Republicans regarding healthcare. Don't be fooled. Obama and the Dems have no desire to change their 2,000 plus pages boondoggle plan for government-run health care. "Bipartisan" as defined by Democrats means "do it our way." Obama doesn't want to start from scratch on a real healthcare plan and actually work with the Republicans. No. Obama wants to present via television a pretty picture that gives the impression that he is actually working with the Republicans - when that is far from the truth. Republican legislators should simply say "NO" and refuse to sit and listen to The One, with his nose arrogantly up in the air, point his finger and tell them what to do. Obama wants a photo op and nothing more.
The party of "NO" has a nice ring to it right now. After all, Democrats tried it for eight long years while Bush was president - they voted against everything Bush tried to do, whether good or bad. Whether justified or not. They just had to vote "no" cuz...... after all, it was BUSH!!! And remember, the Dems never found the need to offer any alternative, well-thought out solutions of their own - all the Dems did was obstruct. And they were good at it. All the Dems did was say "no" for eight long years. (Did the press every call them the "party of no?")... Funny how that works....
Republicans need to take a page out of the Democrats playbook. Say NO - say it loud and clear and stand firm!!! Listen to the Americans who turned out in full force at Tea Parties. Listen to the Americans who are frightened by what Obama & Co. are doing to our country.
Stand proud and say NO! Americans will thank you for it in 2010 and 2012.

No jmark, he have not "demonized" the enemy. Educate yourself and read the earlier modern day books about Islam and you will see these terrorists "demonized" themselves. Not us. We weren't in America when their hate started for any nonMuslim. Wake up pal. You've been told many times before. Or choose to continue to make a fool out of yourself.

We need to say YES to Cap and Trade, and finally be a positive leader in the world and set a good example to the developing world.
We need to say yes to continued human rights and the rule of law even when it is not convenient.
We need to say YES to holding civilian trials for terrorists in New York City an show the world that all people deserve a real trial if they have committed a crime regardless of how bad the crime.
We need to say YES to bigger government, the federal goverment is the best way to insure equity amongst the people of America and her leaders should not fear her but enbrace her and run her well.
We need to say YES to higher taxes and act like adults and realize that the two wars we are fitting and the tax cuts that have been given to those who don't deserve them has given us no other choice, we don't need that big screen or that 6000 square foot home or that second home.....
We need to say NO to spending too much on "defense" projects that do little more than line the pockets of the ware machine.
We need to say YES to stimulus bills that have worked and kept another depression form happening.
We need to say YES to the spend, spend, spend mentality in government, right now its the only thing that has kept our economy going, but need to realise that we walk a tight rope and that too much will do just as much harm as too little.
we need to say YES to the government take-overs of businesses in the private sector, especially if they should have been public in the first place, case in point utilities and health care.
We need to say NO to a upper class intent on taking away more and more of our rights of the people and give them back to the people.
thanks Amy,, just changed the words a little to help make my point.

Paul Bremer, Ambassador at Large for Counter-Terrorism:
"Another important measure we have developed in our overall strategy is applying the rule of law to terrorists. Terrorists are criminals. They commit criminal actions like murder, kidnapping, and arson, and countries have laws to punish criminals. So a major element of our strategy has been to delegitimize terrorists, to get society to see them for what they are -- criminals -- and to use democracy’s most potent tool, the rule of law against them."

"[No exceptional circumstances whatsoever], whether a state of war or a threat or war, internal political instability or any other public emergency, may be invoked as a justification of torture. . . Each State Party shall ensure that all acts of torture are offences under its criminal law."
It's amazing how far the Republican party has strayed from the values held dear by the man they have cast as their hero.

Remember who our #1 enemy was during the Reagan years? Remember Reagan's famous "evil empire" speech? Remember the numerous occasions that Reagan met with the leader of the evil empire? For those who have forgotten the many instances in which Reagan "made nice" with Dr. Evil, click on the accompanying link.

When it comes to foreign policy and terrorism it appears Obama is a week-kneed Reaganite.

(PP)"I wonder how many of those figures were elderly and on Medicare."
(Jim)"And so what if it's all the elderly. "
If their health is so much better on government run medicare why is healthcare a bad thing for the rest of us? hhmmm...
