Democrat Eric Massa just resigned. But why?
Just a little over an hour ago, Congressman Eric Massa (D) resigned over a vicious attack from his own party about sexual allegations. But when you read what actually was said to support those allegations, you have to wonder what Massa did to tick someone off within his own corrupt liberal, democratic party. Low and behold, here’s why Obama and his pals went after Massa.
Massa resigned, actually was pushed out, only after he refused to back Obamacare. Here are his comments from his weekly radio show on WKPQ-FM in Hornell, New York. "If you think that somehow they didn't come after me to get rid of me because my vote is the deciding vote in the health care bill, then ladies and gentlemen, you live today in a world that is so innocent as to not understand what is going on in Washington D.C."
Massa also had this to say on his radio address about Obama’s top pick, Rahm Emanuel, after Emanuel gave Massa a verbal back lashing filthier than the liberals who blog and comment here give me (who most have been kicked off this site) because he stood up against the corruption and lies associated with Obama and his cronies. "He is an individual who would sell his mother to get a vote. He would strap his children to the front end of a steam locomotive." According to Massa, his own party threatened to not support his campaign for reelection unless he votes yes for Obamacare. Didn’t democrat Nancy Pelosi promise that if we all voted for Obama and the democrats that she and Obama would have the most ethical house and senate ever (she forgot to add the Oval Office)? Eric Holder was correct: We are a nation of idiots!

He is simply covering his own behind.

Sounds like he wants to play the victim here to me.And this next line sounds like someone with something to hide.

Classic misdirection here, make the controversy about something different than the actual issue.

Jake, I appreciate you standing behind what you believe. I find myself bombarded all day long with comments from both sides and requests for “when are you going to do something about____.” The blogs are unmoderated. I have tried to be sparing in removing posts in the interest of staying out of the dialog and encouraging open discussion. What I have found ironic in all this is that, as my mother used to say,” the pot keeps calling the kettle black.” Everyone seems to be yelling at the other and thinking they are the ones who are really at fault. If these were moderated forums, I might be more inclined to play referee and whistle more calls. I honestly don’t have time and neither does anyone else here. The blogs are a rough and tumble business. One man’s insult is another man’s impeachment of the credibility of his sources. One woman’s foul language is another woman’s natural way of conversational speaking. One man’s steadfast belief is another man’s closed mindedness. One woman’s charge of “make them live by the rules” is another woman’s response of “except for me.” God is god for a reason. Wish I had his wisdom to call them all right.

I don't know enough of the Barney Franks story to give a comment but the usual story behind that type of situation going away deals with some kind of cash payment for silence, or lack of evidence..I don't know and I have no way to prove it either way, so I won't claim to know that answer.

They have undertaken a scorched-earth legislative strategy. Democrats who have been frustrated with Republicans' use of the legislative process to hamper Obama's agenda will remember just how effectively a minority can obstruct.
Given that political reforms to diminish obstruction do not seem to be right around the corner, political retribution is a more likely outcome when control turns over to Republicans.
As the health care debate finally reaches a conclusion, Republicans need to realize that they still have a lot of work to do if they want to rebuild their party. Polls show that the public still does not think highly of the GOP, even as support for Obama and the Democratic Congress declines.
A recent leaked document from the Republican National Committee suggests that the party is planning to base its 2010 campaign on fear and negative attacks, rather than hope and ideas. Sometimes, in the enthusiasm over a battle, armies can lose sight of the war.
Republicans might have regained their fighting spirit over health care, but the strategy could prove to be costlier than they expect.
