Sauce for the Gander
As regular readers know, I have long claimed that most of the mainstream media is biased left, which is reflected in their news coverage. President Bush was heavily criticized for a 72-hour delay in responding to the Katrina disaster, even though most of that delay was due to reluctance on the part of Lousiana governor Kathleen Blanco to relinquish control to the military as required by law for military intervention in state affairs. This latter fact went virtually unreported in the Bush feeding frenzy.
Now we have President Obama delaying nearly two months before taking an active role--if you can call jawboning "active"--in the Deepwater Horizon catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico, potentially the worst environmental disaster in recent times. Press mention, to say nothing of criticism--of this delay is almost impossible to find.
Now we have British Petroleum CEO Tony Hayward's excursion on a racing yacht. The press has gone ape in labeling this likely long-term commitment, probably from well before the Gulf disaster, as "insensitive", "dereliction", "outrageous" and whatever other lurid insults they can come up with. Administration spokespersons like Rahm Emanuel spout similar critical remarks in the media.
President Obama has gone on seven golf outings, according to Internet reports, since this crisis began. He apparently is scheduled for another one this coming weekend. These are probably not long-time commitments. This "business as usual" has, so far as I know, received insignificant press coverage.
Of course, it could be argued that President Obama really can't do anything about the situation anyway, so why begrudge him some well-needed recreation? O.K., I'll buy that. My problem is poor Tony Hayward goes on one yacht ride and is crucified in the press, and he really can't do anything either. Meanwhile, our "laser beam" president recreates as usual without a discouraging word from our "unbiased" media.
Of course, he did pick up some tar balls from a beach.

For a pres. that says he will fix this problem, playing golf or taking a vacation is NOT the right thing to do with such a crisis. Had he not made that statement than you have a somewhat valid point. But he promised us a fix. No one else.

Yup I'll buy that also! It kind of sounds like another federal bailout of a large corporate interest to me. Why do taxpayers keep having to cover the behinds of the priviledged?

I just want to know-what conservatives believe Obama should he have done or should be doing now? Or in more definite terms what could he have done that he hasn’t already?

I didn't say anything about Obomb blast being responsible for the for the storm last night, you did. But since Bush opened his mouth and blew out Katrina five years ago, every natural disaster has to be his fault. At least according to your childish logic.

The dumb idiot is the guy who compared bush to Obama in the 1st place. See the second sentence in the original blog. You really are that stupid, aren't you?
The dumber idiot is the guy who, given that we're do the comparison that the dumb idiot started, we see that in bush's case there were murders occurring and in Obama's case it was spilled oil. Not understandding the difference is really the dumbest.
I don't know why I bother trying to explain to dumb and dumber.

Obama PROMISED he would fix the problem and said on numerous occasions that he is 100% responsible for the clean up. Can you tell me why you and every other liberal and the MSM fail to mention those words and promise from our idiot president please?

Get Real. You're the one not facing the facts. But I wouldn't expect a robot to be able to understand anything at all. Let alone the fact that people were killed and murdered because nobody was minding the store after Katrina. You keep the blinders on though. It helps our cause.

Were you expecting him to make something happen with words and a wave of a magic wand? If you look into these spills ( and they have happened all over the globe ) it tends to take several months ( last year in Australia they had a simular blowout and it took 9 months before they plugged that hole ) this could get much uglier ....and "clean up" will be simply an ongoing maintenance project until the oil stops spilling. And then it will take years and be very costly to the taxpayers

Are you saying by your above comment that Obama did in fact lie about his taking 100% responsibility with BP going forward??? It sounds like you finally admitted that Obama is showing his lack of experience from the private sector as the biggest problem we face with our new president.

The definition of 'what' is any truth about our country and politics when it hurts you and your liberal ideology. Try balancing your news and you will see why FOX, Ann, Rush and many others are trouncing their liberal competition and why they are such a success and growing. Many of us left liberalism and the MSM because we have the balance and smarts to know when we have been lied to and were given dishonest and unbalanced news from liberal journalists and their ideology. You still can't see any of this, thus why you can't see or handle the truth.
But America awoke and is starting to make a statement against our liberal lies corruption in Washington and the MSM

That's why you can't admit that there's a big difference between murderers going unchecked after Katrina and an oil spill. The proof is right there in your blogs.
