"I will drain the swamp!"
Remember those infamous words (promise) from house speaker Madam Nancy Pelosi in 2006 and again in 2008 if her party wins the election? Unfortunately, the democrats did win and have run everything since 2006. And to make matters worse, we have to live with Pelosi’s liberal lie because the “swamp” has not been drained but filled to the brim with corrupt, dishonest, and unethical liberal democrats..
Top democrat Charlie Rangel, chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means committee, has finally been officially accused of breaking ethics rules and will have his day with a public trial before a House ethics committee (notice how the democrats’ didn’t address this until after Obamacare votes). Yet still not a peep out of the Madam.
Yesterday, Gallup found that only 11% of Americans trust our Congress. That’s the lowest reading since Gallup started the poll back in 1973. And which party took over both house and senate and have made every decision since 2006? The liberal democrats! I think America is waking up to what has happened to our country since the democrats took control. Here are a few more of our liberal democrats’ accomplishments:
· In 11/2006, unemployment was just below 5%. Now we hover just under 10%. Add in the household survey, and or the underemployment rate, the real indicators of jobless Americans, and we are closer to 18%- 20% unemployed. In case your math is a little Al Gore “fuzzy,” that’s a huge increase with unemployment.
· The highest concentration of communist czars in the White House since Sen. McCarthy’s days
· The most amount of corrupt liberal democrats having to turn down Obama White House positions offered by the president due to unethical corruption such as tax evasion.
· Eric Holder, Obama’s handpicked attorney general, made a public statement that he would investigate the lies and corruption from the liberal trial that destroyed Sen. Stevens (R Alaska). A trial that was conveniently used as an attack by the democrat party so the Republican Senator would lose his seat. Which he did. Later to find out the trail was overturned due to corruption by the democrats so to convict Stevens. Did Holder keep his promise? Nope! (FYI. Holder worked closely with the trial judge in the case, Emmett Sullivan, and it was found both sat on the District of Columbia bench years ago. When Stevens asked the judge to overturn the case due to the illegal trial put on by the democrats, which was overturned due to the lies and corruption, the judge sat on his decision for months. Thus ruining Stevens life and his reelection)
· Eric Holder, after not keeping his promise to prosecute the democrats who ruined Steven’s political career, drops the law suit against the Black Panther after a Justice Dept. lawyer had all the evidence to send this panther away for years due to voter intimidation and all for Obama. Yet this same justice department, along with the black panthers and the NAACP, scream racism with the AZ illegal immigrant laws when no racism has taken place.
· After Rangel is found guilty, unless the liberal democrats run another corrupt trail like they did in Alaska with Sen. Stevens (R), that will make 20 liberal democrat senators and congressman who have been charged with a felony to only 8 Republicans. http://askville.amazon.com/Senators-felons/AnswerViewer.do?requestId=65752205.
· Liberal democrats told us (promised us) during their campaing that not only would Americans have the most ethical politicians ever, we would have transparency not seen before. THAT my friends are two of the biggest lies from our liberals in Washington.
· These same liberal democrats want illegal aliens to have free education and healthcare but at the same time want abortions of millions of our children while fighting to keep murders, child rapists, and others on death row from execution.
· These same liberals, who murder millions of children through abortion, also want us to tread lightly on Islam terrorists while Obama and his regime refuse to call these cowardly murders “enemy combatants,” or “Islam terrorists.” Lawyers for Obama now call terrorists in Gitmo “detained persons.”
· And best of all from this current regime is our record deficits and debt. The White House doesn’t pass or make budgets. Congress does. And which party controlled Congress since 2006? The liberal democrats. That’s who! If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit. That deficit, the last by the Republicans, was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in spending. http://zfacts.com/p/318.html http://blog.heritage.org/2009/03/24/bush-deficit-vs-obama-deficit-in-pictures/

Hhhmm... Are you saying the Eisenhower administration was full of commies?
I always get a chuckle out of the communist czar bit... thanks Jim.

I always get a chuckle out of you when you can't debate the blog topic or the facts...thanks Carl!

Are you hoping for another like him?
You should read some history about Russian czars and communism yourself.

Part 1: “But the year 1995 was an epochal one for the study of American Communism. For in that year, thanks to the insistence of the late Democratic Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan of New York, who had long specialized in intelligence matters, some 2,900 documents collectively known as "the Venona papers" (a deliberately meaningless code phrase) were de-classified and published. These were radio messages from the top KGB agents in Washington and New York to their superiors in Moscow from approximately 1943 to 1948. They had been recorded at the time by the U.S. Army Signal Corps, but they were, of course, in code, and their decoding was an immensely arduous job carried out by a number of heroic government cryptanalysts over the period from 1945 to 1980."

Fighting Jims Lies - Jul 25, 2010 7:25 PM
This is a lie. The white house initially proposes a budget and in the end, signs it. Furthermore, the white house is responsible for the actual important "spend the money" part. There's no need to spend every dime in the budget. It was BUSH that decided to do that.
jhayett - Jul 26, 2010 8:10 AM
And how can you debate for one second unemployment with Obama vs. Bush? Even the democrats in Washington can't argue actual establishment or household survey unemployment. Yes, Obama's are high while Bush's were low.
This report card just released from Obama and his own White House says it all Carl! The liberal Democrats Federal budget deficit/GDP for 2009 is 9.9%, 2010 is 10%, 2011 9.2% and 2012 5.6%. Under Reagan - the president that liberals screamed and hollered the most over spending - those years of spending were: 1982 was 4%, 1983 6%, 1984 hit 4.8%. 1985 5.1%, 1986 was 5% and 1987 fell to 3.2% of deficit/GDP. What part of this with Obama and the democrats spending do you not understand? I thought libertarians are supposed to be very much against Fed spending and government this size. Not to mention against socialism. Carl, if you are a libertarian, why do you keep debating Obama’s lies and his spending that is bankrupting America?
Carl Hicks - Jul 26, 2010 4:20 PM
...unemployment with Obama vs. Bush? Yes unemployment is higher under Obama, but then you speculate a much higher number for him and downplay the statistics from the past admistration that you add on to make this admisinstrations numbers look worse....You call that fair? Besides by the way you talk about unemployment being Obamas fault you would think he is the one doing the hiring. I don't consider it the governments job to create employment.
jhayett - Jul 27, 2010 8:50 AM
These statics are not downplayed, as you say again, or uplayed in Obama's case. They come from the CBO!! And if you consider it the "goverments job to create employment" than you are not a libertarian because they are not for socialism. Your comments only underscore my blog post in that it is the house and senate that makes and passes laws as the democrats have done since 2006. However, the sitting president will always get the blame as does a manger for his team’s poor pitching or hitting or even injuries. This is why the liberal dems are getting removed one at a time and why Obama has fallen the fastest for ant new president. You can't keep lying or hiding these facts and broken promises that Obama and or his regime have made. We are in a financial mess and unemployment is not at a level where it should be. When idiots like Biden tell you that Obama's stimulus saved or created 3 million jobs, wouldn't it be nice to prove it? This is now Obama's White House. No one else. Reagan, Clinton, and Bush got us out of recessions. Why can't Obama and the liberal democrats do the same.
Carl Hicks - Jul 27, 2010 10:04 AM
I said " I don't consider it the governments job to create employment. "
To which you replied..." And if you consider it the "goverments job to create employment" than you are not a libertarian because they are not for socialism.
Completely missed the point of my comment...
"Your comments only underscore my blog post in that it is the house and senate that makes and passes laws as the democrats have done since 2006. "
And who signs the budget into law? Who can veto a budget he dosen't like?
Carl Hicks - Jul 27, 2010 11:15 AM
Reagan had the deepest recession to recover from the others were for the most part typical economic cycles of growth and retraction.
However this "recession" is much deeper. I'm not one to run around playing chicken little but I believe we never will recover to our past economic levels, no matter who is president or which party has control of anything. Time to start saying goodbye to the middle class. During this recession the rich have made incredible gains as the underlings suffer. Note how unemployment is still high but the stock market is booming, due to corporations shifting jobs to 3rd world countries where they don't have to pay laborers a living wage or provide benefits of any sort which greatly increases their bottom line.As I'm sure you would agree on since you work with stocks, corporations have incredible amounts of cash reserves right now but still aren't hiring. When our pay scale equals their then "job"s will retun to this country.

The stock market is doing great while the economy stumbles for many reasons. And one of those reasons is why US corps are doing better, holding cash (you would too and not hire with all this uncertainty with taxes and economic growth through gov involvement) and all during a very long recession. The US can get out from under a recession quicker only if the government helps in ways that truly stimulate the economy like Reagan and Bush did with tax cuts (Bush tax cuts were equal across all income ranges as a % of income). However, if the US gov screws up, as we see now, recessions last a long time like this one. Even Bernanke said we now need the Bush tax cuts to be extended while Geithner says tax hikes will fix everything. Talk about chaos in the White House!!
But US corps are the best in the world and, as you can see by the latest round of corp. earnings, US companies are doing better but with less. They learn how to bypass poor gov. involvement and move forward. EPS are rising amongst the S&P500 companies at an amazing clip. All while having to lay off employees, less consumer spending, worldwide recession, and even major slowdowns in emerging countries. That's the resilience of quality US companies that Obama wants to increase taxes with. This country should have leaders like Wal-Mart, IBM, P&G or Kellogg's run this country. Not a nonbusiness community organizer with 146 days of experience in Washington politics.

If taxes are lowered deficit spending would skyrocket even if there were massive spending cuts accoss the board.
Corporations are our economies biggest problem, they have destroyed Americas manufacturing base by shipping jobs to 3rd world countries.
I can agree that someone with business experience would be better to have, but my pick would be a self built entruepenuer over some fat cat CEO.
