Lake Country Art Festival
Mark your calendars, the Lake Country Art Festival is quickly approaching July, 9th 2011.
The Lake Country Art Festival held on the beautiful Nagawaukee Park on Hwy 83, is the only major fundraiser for the Lake Country Women’s Club. This event is important to Lake Country because all money raised from the Art Festival will go back to support the Community through charitable donations and educational scholarships.
Admission for the event is $5.00 carload parking donation to the Lake Country Women’s Club. This includes admission to the entire park for the day (including the beach).
This year we have plenty of activities for the entire family: Entertainment from KM Schools, To The Pointe Dance Studio, and many more to fill the afternoon with fun entertainment. To compliment the entertainment Saz’s will again be the official food vendor of the Lake Country Art Festival and will be serving Miller products and wine to those guests over 21. Children’s Activities including arts and crafts, inflatable obstacle course and the Lake Country Fire Department. The Artists we have over 160 artists this year all with different talents and arts to be on display. There is sure to be something for everyone at the Lake Country Art Festival. Tell your friends and make a point to stop out for an hour or the day.
After the Art Festival head on down to Downtown Delafield for their annual Block Party with Live Entertainment food and drinks.

The Lake Country Women’s Club is a non-profit organization committed to strengthening the greater community by providing much needed resources to charities.
The Lake Country Women's Club is the sponsor of the Lake Country Art Festival July 9th, 2011. All proceeds raised at the Lake Country Art Festival support over 40 local charities, including Lake Area Free Clinic and many others.

Special Speaker Judge Kathleen Stilling 2/15 Revere's Wells Street Tavern
Our speaker on Tuesday, February 15
th at Revere’s Wells Street Tavern, will be Judge Kathleen Stilling, Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge.
Judge Stilling is dedicated to issues surrounding the positive approach to underage alcohol and drug use, helping parents and youth know the potential outcome of their decisions. She is an active member of the Waukesha County Drug Free Communities Coalition and adapted a program for use in area schools demonstrating to teens the legal consequences of poor decisions regarding drugs and alcohol use.

LCWC - January Belly Dancing
After our January business meeting our guest speaker Birgitta Hietala enlightened us with so much more than just a belly dancing lesson. We were giving the opportunity to learn about the history and different traditions of this unique dance. We also had the opportunity to see some of the beautiful “Hollywood” costumes.
We also got the opportunity to learn some simple move.

LCWC - January Meeting
The Lake Country Women’s Club will be hosting our monthly general meeting Tuesday, January 18th 2011 at Revere’s Wells Street Tavern! We will hosting a special guest speaker, Birgitta Hietala . Birgitta will be giving us all a belly dancing lesson while explaining the benefits of belly dancing. January’s helping hands will support Lake Country Free Clinic. Helping hands is one of the ways the LCWC is committed to serving our community monthly. Our community projects committee selects a charity/organization that is in need of our support and finds out what our members can easily bring to each monthly meeting. 35th Annual Lake Country Art Festival THIS Saturday - July 10th 9am to 4pm
It’s here! Finally after months of planning and preparations The 35th Annual Lake County Art Festival is THIS WEEKEND, Saturday July 10,2010 9am – 4pm.
The stage is set for a great festival for everyone to enjoy while helping to support the community.

Scholarship Winners
The Lake Country Women’s Club is pleased to announce the scholarship winners this year. We have awarded over $11,000 to very deserving high school graduates. The scholarship winners were awarded based on academics, school activities, community involvement and an essay explaining the impact that volunteering had in their life. We are proud to support these kids as they have done amazing volunteer activities and programs in many different ways. Listed below are the winners with the volunteer activity that has greatly impacted their life!

Volunteered at Lake Country Caring throughout the school year and during the summer and doubled as a volunteer-Spanish translator
Jeff Dougherty
Designed, funded and installed landscaping around St. Paul’s parish in Genesee Depot
Rachel Morrison
Taught English to children in the Dominican Republic as part of a mission trip
Megan Melbye
Painted and repaired cemetery tombs in New Orleans damaged from hurricane Katrina
Michelle Bridge
Participated in Leader’s Circle which guides and supports young girls at Schoenstatt
Amy Baker
Volunteered during the winter at Camp Helen Brachman in northern Wisconsin working with inner city children
Jessica Duma
Volunteered for the Cushing Elementary music department to help teach keyboarding to children in kindergarten and first grade
Jessica Phillips
Volunteered at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital adult day care center
Morgan Markowski
Volunteered at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital in the physical therapy department
Katherine Winiecki
Volunteered monthly at St. Ben’s soup kitchen
Emily Stigler
Worked on the Holiday toy drive including purchasing, wrapping and delivering toys and books for a head start program in Waukesha
Catholic Memorial graduate

Gathered and delivered food, clothing and furniture to the Repairers of the Breach in downtown Milwaukee

Arrowhead Awards Night
Tonight I had the pleasure of co-presenting The Lake Country Women's Club Scholarship to two outstanding women from Arrowhead High School.
Congratulations, Carly Gerlach and Elizabeth Wriedt! These two young women were selected for their outstanding community service and all around excellent achievement.
All scholarship funds given by the Lake Country Women's Club are raised during our annual Lake Country Art Festival, Saturday, July 10th 2010. Please plan to attend this year’s event to support the Lake Country Women's Club in our effort to raise funds to be given to local charities, organizations and students for educational scholarships.

Zin Restaurant Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show
First, I want to apologize for the delay in getting updated blogs out. This blog will be updated on a regular basis from now on.
Last month Zin Restaurant hosted a Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show with proceeds from the event benefiting The Lake Country Women's Club. What an amazing event. Thank you to Zin for the wonderful venue for this event and the amazing lunch! I had the ROASTED PISTACHIO and APPLE SALAD, amazing!!

and CAbi http://cabionline.com/Spring2010/lookbook.html. I wish I had my camera to show you all the amazing fashions for spring. I provided the links so you can check them out for yourself, and next time I will remember my camera! Thank you for the beautiful fashions ( I enjoyed all of my looks and think I will be stopping in for my “final” look.)

Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show

From 11:30am – 1:30pm Zin Restaurant (629 Main Street, Delafield, WI 53018) is hosting a Spring Luncheon and Fashion show, featuring fashions from local retailers. Profits raised from this event will benefit the Lake Country Women’s Club.
