Celebrate fall's bounty and beauty at the Old World County Fair.

When America was mostly an agrarian society, fall was a busy season on the farm with the mad dash to harvest the crops and prepare for winter. But when it was all over there was time to celebrate. This weekend, Old World Wisconsin will recreate the 1860s in Wisconsin with an Old World County Fair with livestock judging, a plowing contest, children’s games and displays of heirloom produce, flowers and farm implements.  The 1^st Brigade Band will entertain on Saturday. Sunday will feature a County Fair Picnic from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with food right out of an 1860s church dinner. New this year are pie- and break-making contests with celebrity judges plus experts from Blackhawk Technical College’s Culinary Arts program. The fair runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days at Old World, located on highway 67 in Eagle. For more information, visit oldworldwisconsin.org.
