See some rare breeds at an old-fashoned harvest festival.

Petting zoos, with their array of goats and sheep, give visitors a chance to interact with a variety of friendly farm animals. But it isn’t often that people can get to see more unusual creatures up close. This Saturday, Oct. 2, visitors to the Vintage Hobby Farm, on the corner of Townline and Swoboda in East Troy, will get to see some rare heritage breed animals that you don’t usually find in the barnyard anymore. Scottish Highland cattle and rare breeds of sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys and pigs will be part of the harvest festival at the century-old farm. The old-fashioned farm festival also includes a farmers market, food, crafts, demonstrations of past times, games and other farm fun.
