Bill draft to appeal mascot law begins approval process
A bill draft to appeal and amend statutes relating to the use of race-based nicknames, logos, mascots and team names by school boards will be shared with State legislators for cosponsorship on Monday, Jan. 31. The bill draft was authored by State Senators Mary Lazich and Neal Kedzie, and State Representatives Andre Jacque and Steve Nass, according to a letter from Nass dated Jan. 28.
The letter outlines the timeline for gaining approval before the bill could proceed to the Governor for signing.
"I am confident that if the bill arrives on Governor Scott Walker's desk, he will sign it into law," said Nass in the letter.

From what I have seen in today's media, there is no longer any proofreading done on anything written. Also, I couldn't agree with you more in your assessment of the content of this so called article. This is why I no longer subscribe to any printed media. Save the trees!

I'm guessing the original bill that makes a school drop it's native american mascot name because a singular person is "offended" will be dropped, while the amended bill will call for a certain number of signatures before a complaint will be looked in too.

WHAT? How are the two connected? A poorly written article is a result of a poorly written bill? Make sense. That is like saying that Milli Vinili was an awful band because the caterer at the recording studio used fatty ground beef in the tacos. Clearly another liberal trying to tie two unrelated things together to make a “bigger point”.
But let’s look at the point you so clumsily tried to make. Yes the Democrats clearly were focused on jobs development for the past 8 years. Jobs for Louisiana, Spain and other destinations outside of Wisconsin.
What you see as “racial insensitivity” others see as common sense. Why should a school have to pay tens of thousands of dollars to redo signage, buy new uniforms and on because ONE professionally offended person complains. Indian tribes have come out and said that the names that “honor” the Indian culture are not offensive to them. So, why should someone who is not an Indian have more say than them?
It is the little things like this that just “cost a little bit” that add up to truly stupid and expensive governance. When will liberals get this?
