West Bend, Merton win LOL West games
West Bend and Merton both won Land O' Lakes Western Division baseball games last Friday and Saturday.
West Bend, hosting Monches Friday night in a suspended game, faced just four pitches as they defeated the Irish, 5-3. The two teams were deadlocked at 3-3 before continuing the game in the bottom of the 10th.
Dan Mueller singled on the second pitch of the re-started game and then Mike Mueller hit the second pitch for a home run to end the game. Monches traveled to West Bend for just four pitches.
On Saturday, Merton got a four-hit, three RBI performance from playing manager Joe Johnson as the Amvets handed Oconomowoc a costly 7-5 loss. Cooney needed the win badly to make the playoffs.
