One killed in crash in Oconomowoc

A man was killed in a two-vehicle accident on the Highway 16/67 bypass this morning, according to Town of Oconomowoc police.

A police spokesperson said the crash occurred about 7:47 a.m. just north of Highway Z. No information was available about the other driver. The crash is under investigation.

Freezing rain caused more than 100 crashes in Waukesha County this morning.

    Because when u drop salt on dry roads, traffic simply kicks it off to the side and it does no good. How many other travelers made it to their destination this morning without a problem? Blame drivers, if u can't handle the conditions, stay home. THIS IS Wisconsin ! Adapt accordingly.

    I have to agree with Lulu9,its not the people that were not handling the road conditions that pay its the people who do handle that are involved. I was going slow and was still slipping and slideing.The highway crew dropped the ball period..

    Drove past this at 7:52. The fntire bypass was a slip n slide going 15mph. It was a horrible tragedy and I believe both are at fault. The city for not laying salt and the drivers going too fast. Either way its sad to see a life lost in a situation like this. My thoughts are with the families of those involved.

    I drovr past the scene at 7:52. Its a sad story and a shame a life was lost under the circumstances. I was going 15mph and the entire bypass was a slip and slide. In this situation you can't point fingers tho. The roads weren't salted and people were driving far too fast. My thoughts are with the families of those involved with the crash.

    Unfortunately, sometimes the roads are salted and people are driving slowly, yet
    these things still happen. Spinning wheels + ice = trouble....no matter your speed.
    There are people who do drive too fast for conditions, but sometimes, no matter
    how slow you're going, you can still slip and your vehicle can spin out of control. If
    you're walking cautiously, to your car and you slip and fall on ice, were you going to
    fast for conditions?
