Man gets probation for accidently shooting his son
Waukesha – A Town of Delafield man was sentenced Monday to one year probation for accidentally shooting his son last March. Craig D. Savage, 37, of W289 N2183 Louis Ave., was ordered by Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Patrick C. Haughney to 100 hours of community service and fined him $243. Savage said he was walking through his living room holding a loaded handgun and as he talked with his 10-year-old son "all of the sudden there was a bang and the gun went off," the criminal complaint said. The boy was taken by Flight for Life helicopter to Children’s Hospital as he had suffered critical injuries as the bullet hit the boy in the right hand, exiting the right wrist and then striking him in the abdomen, the complaint said.
