Waukesha man accused of selling pirated DVDs from China
Waukesha – Kevin A. Breitzman, 35, of Waukesha man has been accused of purchasing pirated Disney movies from China and then reselling them for as much as seven times more on the Internet, according to court documents filed Monday afternoon. An investigation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security led to Breitzman who allegedly had been purchasing hundreds of DVDs from a Hong Kong company in 2010 and then allegedly selling them on eBay making between $2,000 and $4,000, according to the criminal complaint filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court. He estimated he purchased about 1,000 DVDs, mostly Disney films, for $2.70 per video and then selling them on eBay for $10 to $17 per video, the complaint said. Breitzman, charged with one felony count of trafficking in counterfeit marks, is scheduled to make his initial appearance in court May 7. If convicted, Breitzman faces a maximum sentence of 3 years in prison and 3 years of extended supervision.
