Man to be sentenced in June for fatal crash
A Palmyra man will be sentenced in June for the death of a man in a crash in Walworth County last summer. John W. Weller, 21, of 421 4th St., entered a guilty plea April 11 In Walworth County Circuit Court to a felony charge of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. Weller is scheduled to be sentenced June 7. According to the Walworth County Sheriff’s Department, Weller was driving south on Highway H in the Town of Sugar Creek at about 9 p.m. Aug. 23 when he did not stop for a stop sign at Highway A and drove through the intersection and his car hit an eastbound pickup truck. The driver of the truck, Kelly J. Agnes, 40, of Elkhorn, was pronounced dead at the scene. Weller faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision.
