Office party leaves the office behind

Office parties have been the subject of holiday jokes for years. They are the party equivalent of the fruitcake gift.

Part of the problem might be that office parties take place in … offices. And offices are places of work, not play.

If you take the office party away from the office, then the fun can begin.

Olympia Resort has done just that with its annual Little-Big Holiday Office Party.

Their motto is “Forget the little office party … go big and leave the planning to us.”  

Saturday is the day and the party begins with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails from 7 to 9 p.m. followed by a live comedy show from 9 to 11 p.m. with professional talent provided by Funny-Business.com.

The evening ends with late night snacks and dancing with a live DJ and cash bar.

Cost is $25 with tax and gratuity included. Guests are offered a special room rate at Olympia for just $79, which includes a made-to-order breakfast the next morning.
