Precautions raised at Wales school due to man who committed suicide
Village of Wales – School children at Wales Elementary School were kept inside this morning and authorities investigated a nearby incident.
Waukesha County Sheriff's Department deputies along with emergency medical personnel from the Wales/Genesee Fire Department responded to an address on Main Street at about 9 a.m. for a wellbeing check, according to the statement released by the Sheriff's Department.
Police found a deceased adult male in the rear of the residence. The preliminary investigation indicates he died from a gunshot wound to the head, however the incident is still under investigation by the Sheriff's Department.
Do to the close proximity of the residence to the school, school officials were asked to keep the students inside for approximately one hour. At no time were any of the students or staff in any danger, according to the release.
