AHS boys win CC crown
Arrowhead's varsity boys cross country team upset two-time league champion Waukesha West Saturday at Naga-Waukee Park to win the 2009 Classic 8 Conference championship. AHS had last won the title in 2006.
AHS had 45 points and rival West had 53. Mukwonago was third with 103 tallies.
John Luterbach of Catholic Memorial won the 5,000-meter race with a time of 16:18.
Arrowhead was led by sophomore Russell Sandvold in third place at 16:37. Other AHS runners were Will Conley in seventh at 16:59, Brad Lewin ninth at 17:11, Ben Bierman 10th at 17:23 and Alec Eberhardt 16th at 17:33. Other AHS runners were Ryan Adamski in 21st at 17:42, Nick Linnan 28th at 17:54 and Kyle Lewin 35th at 18:04.
A field of 61 runners took part.
