Waukesha County begins H1N1 Vaccination Clinics
Waukesha County Public Health Division plans to hold free, public vaccination clinics next week to provide intranasal H1N1 flu vaccine to healthy people who are between 2 and 49 years of age, caregivers of infants under 6 months of age, and health care workers and emergency responders. At this time, the only vaccine available is the live, intranasal vaccine that can only be administered to healthy individuals between the ages of 2 and 49.
The vaccination will be given on a first come, first serve basis until the vaccine supply runs out at the Waukesha County Expo Center Forum Building on the following dates and times:
Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 1 to 7 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 28 from 1 to 7 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 29 from 1 to 7 p.m.
The intranasal vaccine is very safe and effective, however, it should not be administered to those under 2 and over age 49, anyone with a severe allergy to eggs, pregnant women, anyone with a weakened immune system or anyone with diabetes, asthma, or any other chronic medical condition.
