Cooney downed by Middleton
Oconomowoc rebounded to post a strong second half in Middleton on Tuesday, but the Cardinals still had more than enough in a 40-17 outcome in the first round of the WIAA playoffs.
Cooney finished the season 5-5 and made its first playoff appearance since 2005.
Brady Nold scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, and the Raccoons pulled back within two scores at 33-17, coaxing the Middleton starters back into the game.
