South girls defeat Arrowhead
Visiting Waukesha South jumped out to a 9-0 lead after the first quarter Friday night and defeated Arrowhead's varsity girls basketball team in a Classic 8 Conference game, 42-37.
AHS fell to 2-3 in league play and 4-5 overall.
It marked the third time this season the AHS girls got shutout in the first period. They also failed to score in the opening quarter against Oak Creek and Milwaukee Pius.
Sophomore Jenny Smith had 10 points to lead the Warhawks.
South got 16 points each from junior Katy Allen and sophomore Eileen Van Horn.
