Winners, winners and chicken dinners at Monches ChickenFest!
With the tag line “making chickens nervous since 2000,” this Saturday's Monches ChickenFest is a summer feast of food, games and music. The 11th annual event features the smell of “fowl” in the air and the sound “foul” at the ball diamond. A delicious half-chicken dinner with all the trimmings will be served from 2:30 to 7 p.m. and at $10 is just chicken feed. And what better way to enjoy a summer’s day than by watching kids play ball starting at 12:30 p.m. If you’re feeling energetic, bring your dancing shoes or just sit and listen to DJ music from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. At 8 p.m. the band Spellbound takes over. It’s all happening at the Monches Ball Park at Highway E and Center Oak Road. For more information, visit Monchesrecclub.org. Proceeds benefit the Monches Recreation Club.
